Do not buy a house represented by Weichert. They systematically strip the buyer of your rights under State law. They tried to verbally agree to a purchase agreement...laughable!!! Their representative's electronic signitures have no date and time stamp. They try to get the buyer to sign first at closing, even though State law and common closing practices say the sellers sign first. They don't show up on closing day. They drag the closing process out for almost 4 days after the scheduled closing. They sneak a 2% Buyers penalty poison pill into a sellers inspection report (at the last minute)...Shameful. Truly the worst company you will ever work with. Put us in an uninhabitable apartment and refused to respond to service requests. Finally had no choice but to move us to a new apartment in the city after several doors fell off and has now informed us that they are billing us for having to pick up essential items from an apartment a mile away rather than the original one. No refunds for leaving us homeless for a full day before drilling off our broken door and leaving it as such overnight in a bad part of town forcing us to get ourselves a hotel but expects you to pay for the "logistical cost" that picking up an item from a location a mile down the road brings about. read more

Our initial call with our assigned representative, Andrea was very good. our budget with this company was $20,000. She assigned us a $10,000 budget for the movers. She assigned us to mover Joyce Movers. When the mover called us, Theresa was very positive. The next day Theresa was very excited to give us a quote of $27,000! Just to move our house! We never heard from her again. When we tried to reach our representative with Weichert she was nowhere to be found. Our phone calls and emails were not returned. So now we are jumping through hoops to try to get a reputable mover and find a house all the way across the United States by ourselves side unseen. We wish we would've just taken the relocation money from our company since we are doing it all ourselves. This company is a scam! Please, don't use for employee relocation! Unresponsive & exchanged some of my belongings with someone else's. Delivery guys said it wasn't their problem and left the other homeowner's furniture at my house. I was told multiple times "let's wait and see if that expense is covered!" like it was a fun game for both my waning patience and their bottom line. My dog was unexpectedly not covered on hotel room expenses for my moving journey. I would have rejected the job offer if I had known how awful this experience in 'moving assistance' was going to be. How corporations keep using them to relocate their employees is the bigger question. I didn't use them for many services, because the one thing they are NOT able to do is give a timely response. Even badgering these people is pretty useless, they will call you on their own time (this is horribly frustrating for moving purposes, so be sure to contact them the very DAY that you sign a contract with your new job). However, the move was done well, and our items were packed and shipped without a scratch. Also, they didn't give me any hassle about other reimbursement items per the contract. So I'll give them a 3 stars, but they really need to work on initial contact and response time. read more

I was an agent requested by the seller who had a relocation deal. Weichert was unresponsive, unprofessional, and downright rude. I couldn't figure out if they were just incompetent or what. It was such a horrible experience for both the seller and myself. The seller said if they were ever transferred again, they would never agree to using Weichert. The house finally closed but not without alot of needless back and forth. I had over 100 emails from one person at Weichert. I cannot say enough bad things about them. They don't follow the relocation policy. The policy clearly says one thing and they argue, delay, and make you wish you made another decision about relocation. They do not review the relocation policy with you. It really sucks when there is no details or examples in the policy and they deny reimbursements a month after submitting the report (yeah - they don't tell you its denied either....until you ask...and ask). BTW - The weichert relocation experts for your new town/city are.... not from the city/town your moving to...they have no clue about it....and will set you up in shitty or sketchy temporary housing. The website you have to submit every single recipe to is horrible. It's very glitchy and sometimes results in no expense reports being submitted (despite email confirmation) or duplicates. Want more? No communication after various attempts to contact them, ignoring our requests for routing our our shipment, shipment late by 3 weeks, various changes in the personnel responsible for our file, constantly referring us to the local agent who was doing more of the coordination than Weichert was. Currently have been waiting for 4 weeks for a response to questions regarding insurance of broken effects. Nothing. We have done numerous international/overseas moves and this was by far the most difficult. Extremely poor customer service, with limited initiative for effective and clear communications. It does not seem that the account manager had skills nor expertise beyond "managing" the administration of receipts and "flipping an email" when there were challenging issues. Professionalism and confidentially were a problem. Legal paperwork for a house purchase was sent, without our consent, to a local law firm. We were informed afterwards. A serious inappropriate breach of privacy and yet the account manager seemed to have poor understanding of this breach. Executives need reassurance that confidential transactions will be managed with appropriate discretion. The website for submission of receipts is clumsy and inefficient and the categories do not match up to the categories in the relocation contract. It was a crazy making exercise to try to cross reference the two. The contract was very unprofessionally written, we had great difficulty making sense of what was/wasn't covered. With a very complex move, the unprofessional confusion and lack of clarity created months of frustration and confusion, at a time when our family was split with one working a new job on the other side of the world, and the other "project managing" the move, house sale, children and yet confused and in the dark about planning. Poor direction was provided to the employer about the actual costs for this move and thus much of the relocation contract was inapplicable, even after multiple edits. It has been beyond exasperating. Weichert provided flawed "expertise" regarding actual costs: for loss of equity with vehicle sales, appliance incompatibility to Canada, visa issues, financial overseas transfers. Compounded by inappropriate timelines and missing a myriad of details involved in this move. The contract might have suited a move from Toronto or the USA. With no Aussie template, this should have been assigned to a senior account person with high level customer service skills. It has been a hodge podge of frustrations. A conversation with the experienced spouse managing the move, not the emplyee working hard in a new job, would have informed realities - three months of temporary accommodation for the employee in Canada wouldn't even see a house sold in Australia. Overseas furniture delivery takes 8-14 weeks. This knowledge is what the relocation experts are paid to provide to guide corporations estimating and managing costs. If they don't know, ask an expert - the experienced expat! The contract developed with the HR department of the company was so poorly written that even on the 4th draft the "your vehicle can be shipped by train" option remained - there is NO TRAIN out of Australia. It is a remote island. Assistance for house sale in Aus was almost non existant, other that subcontracting with a subcontractor for valuations. The actual costs billed to the company meant there were three levels of people paid, all making a profit. No way was this financially efficient for the company hiring Weichert. Weichert then Expected 35% of that realtor fee. All they did was administer some receipts? They had no involvement in referring an agent, they had no role in the home sale guarantee, in fact they had no experience with a move from Australia so offered little help. We returned to a city we knew, found our own temporary housing, needed no orienting to the city, found our own realtor/house. The company payed for services never used and still Weichert gets 35% of the realtor fees? We booked the home inspection, chose our own lawyer, managed all the banking and asked once for expert assistance - guidance on moving funds from overseas. We were told they had no expertise with this. Worldwide relocation? This is critical. The account manager seemed to believe "flipping an email" was a sufficient solution to the fact that no one completed insurance paperwork on departure. She couldn't or wouldn't problem solve. The solution was to forward an email contact for us to explore, not to find answers or fix errors. I had to enquire numerous times and was referred back and forth, until eventually I insisted on a firm answer to enquiries - to discover that as suspected, paperwork should have been completed prior to departure and that if we require any substantiation of value on items, well, this is in the files on a boat in the container at sea. Sloppy guidance. The subcontract with the moving company for furniture was great on the Aussie end, but the the Canadian Armstrong staff did not provide timely and accurate information for supportive documents to clear customs. It was extremely complicated without proper paperwork. I enquired in anticipation and was told "they will let you know". International relocations require experts who understand what 14 hour time differences mean for delays - if you wait a day, it's a two day holdup and/or a messy crisis. read more

Weichert handled my company-sponsored relocation from the east coast to the midwest. Weichert created more problems for me than the moving process itself. Being passed between two different representatives, who were near impossible to contact unless I made myself available on a whim, added to the frustration. Questions were not clearly answered and I had items stolen by the move crew. Weichert did not follow-up to have the packing materials removed. It took weeks before I was provided guidance on how to have my stolen items replaced (I was eventually passed to another company who blamed me for not securing the stolen items and therefore did not provide full reimbursement. ) If you have to use this company for relocation, I recommend being prepared to be very hands-on and keep records of all conversations. They claim to be relocation experts. They know nothing about the area I am moving to and how to coordinate a move. I was able to find a cheaper, and better-quality temporary residence on my own. Unfortunately, I am at their mercy if I were to be reimbursed for my cost. They housed me in a substandard temporary residence at a higher cost. Their response time is slow...it takes days to get a proper answer to relocation questions. Their relocation plan defies logic. Recently worked with them as a realtor for the client. My client asked for me to be his agent. I will never do a Weichert "referral" again. My client is extremely unhappy with the entire process. They informed me that I was a referral to him and made it a mandatory 40% referral fee that came out of the top of my pay when he bought a home AND sold his. His home never sold and they bought it from him per his contract. I was able to find him a home and the experience went worse from there. The movers took 6 days to move his items, broke an antique, wouldn't move more than 2 crated items, charged him more to move other items (supposed to be all paid moving expenses), and busted his refrigerator water line and tried to blame him. His first coordinator was not reachable and would not answer any questions in a timely manner and he would be curt and almost rude as if we were inconveniencing him. My client asked for a different on and Aimee Meginniss was assigned and very helpful and pleasant but seemed to have her hands tied on certain matters. Luckily he was happy with the work I did and the customer service he received from me and the company I work at. In talking to other agents that have attempted to do a Weichert deal, every single one have had a bad experience with them. I will not do another Weichert relocation. I would honestly have backed out of this one if I wasn't worried about my client that is a family friend. He would have had no one in his corner. I absolutely hate giving bad reviews but this company has put a really bad taste in my mouth. read more

Staggering incompetence; I thought we were getting a good deal when we got a relocation package. Unlike my realtors who were available evenings and weekends for support, Weichert Mobility will not work evenings or weekends even to correct their own mistakes. They gave us a closing date for which they had many days to prepare. We booked movers which we now have to beg to change their timing, rearrange our work schedules and scramble due to the inability of this company to handle a relocation deal when BOTH SIDES of the deal (both buyer and seller) were through Weichert Mobility company! They told us weeks ago that everything was ready to go and since then it's been a string of finger pointing between the different groups involved, last minute items that were never checked and last minute requests for information from us. Our sellers company(they were relocating) used this relocation company for a home that we purchased in Long Beach, CA. Not only did they jack the price of the home up 30 thousand dollars in a bidding war....but then did an inspection, found alot of things that they were going to fix and only fixed 5. And their inspector signed off on the repairs before we did the walk through. We have to redo all that they repaired. They never contacted us, stalled signing the HUD statement for 2 days until the VP of the Title company got involved. If you are buying a house that is associated with Weichert Relocation Company...think twice...they are not BBB approved. Actually they were removed due to so many complaints...and as a buyer you have no control over this. RUN...seriously run. read more

Am relocating with this sad excuse of a company right now. The 'counselor' we were given out and out lied- went on vacation after saying we were his top concern and didn't even bother to let us know who our backup person was. We have horses and are moving from north to south with a 40 degree difference- our horses lives depend on a seamless transition. That's not happening. I will probably have to live here alone- a 55 year old woman with 6 horses- because Weichert Relocation- despite being told this was a rural property- sent someone who didn't even know what a Michigan Basement was to inspect our farm, sent a real estate agent from the city who didn't even know how to pull comps and gave us a real estate agent down south who is a part time realtor and took 5 days to submit a purchase agreement. If you do business with Weichert Relocation, please get your doctor to give you valium in a Pez dispenser- you're going to need it. I hope my horses survive this move. read more
