Beginning with a name like Weird Sisters, how can you expect anything other than that? My daughter and I ventured down into the "hidden alley" of shops, where there is an underground tunnel of sorts and it's like a whole different world down there. Weird Sisters has clothing, jewelry, nik-naks, antiques (like a typewriter) and more. The owner was kind and steered us into the other mysterious looking rooms (there is an "entry room" where it's motion activated and lights go off and music plays...really fun!...). The lighting differs from space to space and it's done as if a theatrical stage. Very unique, playful and creative. A humorous and cool experience~! read more

This is definitely a weird boutique. It's very small but interesting inside. Lots of great things to look at. Stuff that you would never see anywhere else. The owner was very nice. I didn't see anything personally that I couldn't live without, but it was definitely worth walking through. read more

This boutique is absolutely amazing and one of a kind! I regret not taking pictures but it might be better that way :) This is not just a place to shop, but an experience in itself. There is a lot to see, but I will give you a hint: if you like immersive art, shopping thrift and supporting local artists, this will absolutely be your jam! 5 stars is not enough for this incredible store. The space is cool on its own. There is so much thought and heart put into the decor. I wasn't really in the market to buy anything, but it was such a fun experience, I bought an old phone and some delicious local chocolate. Harper, the dude running the shop , was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a chocolate tasting and talked to us about the store in general. Overall, this was a great shopping experience and glad we stepped in. I wish we could have purchased the fixtures! read more

If you wanna get freaky in Astoria, you must stop here. The place is so much fun! The photos previously posted are true, but you must come in to experience it. Love the clothing and accessory selection in the front of the store. But you must wander back ... go beyond the space rock, go through to the smallest disco ever, to a cute bar area then further back into the white-birch room. Enjoy! The staff is wonderful. I was visiting a friend and was in the area for the first time. On sunday we went into the town for lunch, there was the market and nice shops, but the highlight was visiting this Boutique. I was just following along my friends and I'm so glad we stepped down the stairs exploring the underground, it was already exciting going down to the underground level. The store immediately got my Wow's and Ahh's, so many beautiful different clothes, crafts and accessories, I was having a great time just looking at all of it. The store itself is an adventure as well, with a magical vibe and lots to explore. It almost felt like Alice in Wonderland stepping into the back room through a magical closet door, amazing! I have not seen this anywhere else and I've come around. The back room was a pure treasure chest for me, and I found some pretty epic unique items that I just love love love and for a great price too. This was easily the highlight of my trip!! too bad I don't live anywhere close to come back there soon! I'd be a store regular. read more

The proprietor was so kind and helpful and shared some of her plans for expansion and events for those of you lucky enough to be in the area. Weird Sisters is easily my favorite shop in Astoria. I've never seen a shop like it -- just as the employees (who are absolutely lovely) mention, the further you go in, the weirder it gets! I couldn't help but bring my friends along (who were visiting the area) after seeing Weird Sisters the first time. I definitely plan on going back in the future. The shop had already expanded it's weirdness into a new room by the next time I visited -- the world's smallest disco! My friends and I got as many pictures as we could. Super neat place. I bought four rings (that are so intricate I can't even put words to them) and a pair of sunglasses that look like they belong to Elton John. There's always something I want whenever I visit; "want" doesn't even begin to describe how much I feel I "need" so many of the things in this store! This is a must-see in Astoria! There are a lot of great vintage shops and a lot of art - this shop combines both! I love their vintage clothes selection. They only sell unique items. The eclectic jewelry and local artist goods selection is fun and unique. But what really blows you away is the fact that the whole shop is an art installation! Walk by the Alien at the door and get greeted by two massive trees. Head into the cave, through the world's tiniest disco and into the speak easy! Sidle up to the Experience Bar and make a memory. Between the shop itself - which is kind of like walking into a vintage store that collects artifacts from multiple dimensions at once, which you can catch glimpses of in the floor and through the walls - and their extraordinary performance/exhibition space, ("The LAB"), Weird Sisters is one of the most interesting shops I've ever seen, an experience in its own right. Well worth checking out - especially if they're having an event. read more
