I'll give this place 3 stars - which means "A-ok" according to Yelp standard. But you need to be a careful shopper, and know what things should cost, or be able to pull up competing prices on your phone. As others note, its very loosely organized. Theres groceries. Hardware. Kitchen. Kids. Lots of yard chemicals. And tons of random stuff. Take care with the grocery stuff, alot of it is past its ''best by" date. Doesnt mean its bad, just not best :) Some cheap, no-name brand hardware. I did some comparison shopping on a few kitchen gadgets, didnt find any 'deals', at least for me. If, you take the time to walk down every aisle upstairs & downstairs you'll FIND something you've been looking for elsewhere but uniquely you'll FIND it at Deals Only because you know it is a FINDS store and when you're specifically looking for FINDS you FIND them at Deals ONLY. ************************* On this Saturday, my finds were: *** 60pc Incense Sticks for $.99 cents. Yes for $.99 cents!!! ^^^ Why is this a find for me? I have a Diffuser that fills the room with a wonderful mist & smell, but if I sit close to it all day I get a slight headache. So, the incense will allow me to switch from Diffuser to Incense. For me this is a FIND, because it solves a problem. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ *** Ice-Pop Molds ^^^ Why is Ice-Pop molds a FIND for me? I have a small freezer and I threw away the Traditional ice-cube freezer trays, because They took up too much space, Now keep in Mind when your at Deals Only you're looking For FINDS and when I saw the Ice-Pop molds I thought that would be perfect for making Ice-cubes because it's small in size and won't Take up a lot of freezer space. Tip: I tested it out & learned not to put the Tops on it and if, you try to immediately Squeeze the ice cubes out they won't go Out easily but after just 1 minute they will squeeze out easily. For me two ice-cubes made my Cherry Coke tastes COOLER. I have never found a FINDs Store like Deals ONLY in any city I have lived in and I'm 67 years old. It is tough to rate this place. It has a huge selection of very cheap goods, but is quite messy, disorganized and has many items that are outdated and damaged. Be careful with some of the food products and things you put in your body. Some of the items look like they have been there for eons. I think I saw my old care keys, remote control and virginity in one dark aisle, but I may be mistaken. Imagine the type of environment typically found in a dollar store. Now make that dollar store bigger, two levels bigger. Now fill it with a completely random selection of things ranging from absolute garbage quality through target quality items and brands. Now make all the nice stuff a seasonably inappropriate print or color. And make all the food on the verge of passing its sell by/eat by date. Now make it DIRT CHEAP. Now if you're not creeped out, make a bee-line for Deals Only. Who cares if your ziplock bags are christmas colored? Do light bulbs really expire? Does halloween candy not taste good in November? Wow this place is really special. They seem to sell whatever inventory is discarded from other stores. They sell the stuff that places like Big Lots and Ross discard. They have shelves full of expired medicine for dirt cheap. They have shelves full of expired or near expiring food for dirt cheap. I am sure most of it is fine, though a friend advised me that the sports/protein bars get really gross when they're that old. They have school and office supplies, lots of party and scrapbooking supplies, and much more. Probably a good place to get cheap Halloween candy if you don't care much about the quality of what you're giving out. In the basement they have all kinds of clothes and household items for cheap cheap. Most of the clothes are $3 a piece or 5/$10. They are all new with tags, it's not a thrift store. This type of store isn't for everyone, but if you like deals, this is the place to go. read more

As a business owner myself, the way they treat their customers is extremely unprofessional and rude. We came in to see and buy a 100$ jacket hanging on their window. Before we left, we were browsing around the store. A man came up to us and cussed us out the door saying "never come back to this store" for having a backpack. We even asked the man if he wanted to check through our bag, he declined and continued to cuss at us as we were leaving. We came around the front and asked why they didn't take our bag as we walked in, the lady at the front seemed unaware of the rule, and the man checked to see if there was a sign at the front, there were no signs posted. Needless to say, we didn't buy the jacket. It seemed as if they were finding reasons to kick us out. Perhaps this was a racially charged attack. Note- We were frequent customers and liked shopping there to see what cool fun things this we would find. We will never be returning. This business is not POC friendly. read more

First I must say that the people of Astoria are amongst the most friendly I've come across. We were visiting on a cruise stop and were made to feel totally at home during our visit. Astoria is a pretty small town so we were happy to just spend a few hours wandering through town and checking out the stores. This store was probably the highlight of that wander. They should maybe rename it the "Everything is expired store" because the majority of the food stuff is close to or after it's "best before" dates. That being said most of this food is stuff that really doesn't go bad anyways, so was not a big deal for me (I bought some expired Starbucks single serving instant coffee for dirt cheap to avoid drinking the gross stuff they served on the ship). They have pretty much every random thing here. I found a great book for my daughter in the books section, but you kinda need to hunt around to find what you're looking for. We definitely ended up spending more time than we expected here and ended up getting a bunch of goodies that came to a surprisingly small amount of $$. read more

This place is best described as a store that sells a large selection of random things. I'm not even sure how to categorize these things. I was looking for a specific glass candle holders, and after unsuccessfully scouring the local boutiques and glass stores for it (including the store where the candle holder had been originally bought), I found a near replica of the candle holder at Deals Only. Who would have thought? I'm not sure I would go in there regularly expecting to find a specific thing, as I think this time I got extremely lucky. But if you like garage sales and flea markets and have the patience to pick through shelves of random stuff, this is definitely the place to go. And it's super affordable. read more

I've been shopping at Deals only since they opened '93-'94, some things are a good deal,but alot of the items are more than fred meyers. They shouldn't be competing w/ these stores. The prices they have aren't consistant, I'll buy something one week come back the following week & it's up dollar or more what it started out as. Most of the food items are expired, & rancid, as is some lotion items. The items they sell are expired,discontinued or damaged or returned from other stores. Watch what you buy & check the dates. If they lowered their prices a little they could get rid of stuff I've seen on the shelves for years or not!!!!! read more

Deals Only is better than the Dollar Tree. It has everything you can imagine. I went in looking for a cooling rack and walked out with three bags of stuff and didn't spend over $15 for stuff that I will actually use. Yes there is some junk here. Don't go in thinking you're getting quality luggage for $20 so when you find it ripped or broken at your destination it shouldn't be a surprise. It's a great place to get utensils and cookware for camping, note pads, tape, etc. read more

I recently went into Deals Only acting on a suggestion from someone else. I thought I would write in support because of a couple of negative reviews. I was looking for several pieces of one type of item for a group project. I found what I needed for a very low price. I found the store to be organized and tidy, obviously a result of the staff's consistent efforts. The underlying foundation of the store is not very good--meaning things such as shelving and flooring are very old and unattractive. I am concerned about an overpowering smell of gardening products downstairs. Seems unhealthy. The merchandise ranges from old, faded, or cheap items to some decent things and some fairly new looking items. Some things have good prices and some are way too high for a discount store selling overstock merchandise from other retailers. I personally would probably not shop here for myself but as I said, I found what I needed for our group project. I really appreciated the staff's friendly, very helpful service. Two ladies helped me during this visit. I found the clerk who checked me out to be particularly helpful and very accepting of the patrons. read more

I discovered this store about 3 years ago. It was the former JJ Newberry store which I always paid a visit to when I was there (probably one of the last ones to close). As with most stores of this type you have to be careful of medicine/food that have expiration dates. I have purchased items like office supplies, kitchen gadgets, general household items (the lower level is full of them), candles, incense, and some items that can be used past their expiration like instant coffee. They also have a good selection of cheap and unique selection of CD's by the front of the store when you first come in. read more
