Ive asked repeatedly for the sushi counter to have veggie rolls. Everyone ive spoken with says "sure, ill pass it along". Still no vegaterian options. This has turned into a game for me as i shop there often. Almost everytime i check, i ask someone behind the counter politely if they can pass my request along. This "game" has been going on for over a year. Ive even asked the courtesy counter a few time too but stil no luck. Come on Weis...YOU CAN DO IT !!!! read more

I have lived in the Honesdale area for more than 43 years. This was not the first time, but I purchased fresh cod and a caesar salad kit. My daughter is in from Colorado and helping with my husband's funeral arrangements. It's been a sad and stressful time. I went to Weis today and came home to prepare the dinner, the cod was spoiled and the salad kit was missing all the ingredients except the romaine lettuce. As I said this is not the first time that I have purchased spoiled and unfresh ingredients. I called the store and they said that the fish was packaged on July 21 and to expire on July 28. Well, I'm still trying to get the odor out of my kitchen after cooking it. I will be shopping at a different market going forward even though the travel will be inconvenient. Groceries are very expensive and I'm so disappointed with Weis. read more

Why is it employees are still allowed to park in handicap reserved parking spaces?!!! I see a red convertible there in a handicap reserved parking spot pretty mucj every time I go there. If the employees are that disabled and can't walk far to get into the store, they shouldn't be working at such a big store where they most likely do a lot of walking or standing on their feet. This is seriously ridiculous!! Today I was there a saw the same man in a wheelchair that I have seen before have to park halfway down the parking lot where EMPLOYEES should park. This man is the wheelchair had a friend or gf with him who got his wheelchair out of his car and she noticed a handicap reserved parking spot open up so she suggested he go there. She took his wheelchair and stood in the handicap reserved parking spot so nobody else would take it. She moved when he got close enough to where nobody else could take it. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I have also seen people without a handicap parking permit and no handicap logo on thier license plate park in handicap reserved parking spots and nobody does a damn thing about it!! This place needs someone to be out in the parking lot and make sure nobody parks there without a handicap permit, either a placard or a handicap logo on their license plate. It should also be a rule that NO EMPLOYEE is allowed to park in a handicap reserved parking spot. I have seen that red convertible parked halfway down the parking lot when I have gone into the store but then am hour later when I come out of the store, it's parked in a handicap reserved parking spot!! WHY IS THIS ALLOWED?!!! Those spots should be for HANDICAPPED CUSTOMERS ONLY!!!! I have said something about this before but I see my complaints go nowhere! read more

COVID-19 era review: since we avoid Wal-Mart at all costs, and half the folks shopping at - - - were ignoring signs to wear masks, this was the perfect stop during our Poconos camping trip. First thing when I entered, someone was disinfecting the carts and baskets. I couldn't resist the fried chicken in the deli (wings and camping, yes please), but also found some local hot dogs and brats as we hoped since hey, it's PA. Cold local beer on site saved us a trip elsewhere, though the beef cafe was closed. The floor had distance markers, and people seemed to mind distancing. Mary Kate and Debbie were pleasant as can be, and Debbie let me save a little extra with the store courtesy store card. Aisle 6 was my favorite! Being near camping and civilization, this store was a great oasis. read more

There is no change from my last review dated 5/1/2018. Giving them a 1 star now because when forced to shop here for items other stores are out of stock of (post covid reality). I still find their produce and meats not up to par. There is never enough cashiers and the staff tries to encourage people to use the self check out. read more

How can a large chain grocer not take returns on non food items? Covid gave places an excuse to implement policies supposedly designed to help buyers by keeping them safe but it's a ruse to keep corporate profits up. A roasting pan return will be accepted if the pan is defective. Ha! Current policies were out in place to protect against infection not to keep the average guy from getting money back on a cooking implement he doesn't need. read more

This has become by go to super market when I am in town. The amount of fresh produce is unbelievable. So many items to choose from they have some of the best steaks and with a butcher on site you can have them freshly cut every time. Their bakery is loaded with delicious items from cookies to pastries to their fresh made bread. Definitely worth coming here. And did I mention they have some of the friendliest staff around. read more

If I were allowed to give zero stars I would. Their produce department is abysmal at best. Many time we've had to take produce and meat back. Now they only take on-line ordered for the deli department. They don't have enough cashiers. Yes I'm one of those who demand discount for working. I'm out here in Pennsylvania for a shot term gig and came across this super market. It's located in a strip mall in a small town called Honesdale. You would expect something more country store but this is not the case. It rivals Ralph's in Encino or any Pavilions I've been too. Full deli, sushi, home made meals to take home and heat. Full sized pharmacy with a cordial pharmacist and a selection of over the counter medicine that is just as well stocked as a CVS. Produce is great, variety and quality is top notch. Really appreciate having such a well stocked, clean and modern supermarket available while I'm out here for a short while. Will be going back and will update with photos. For those who are looking for a well stocked beer, wine and spirits store...they have that too! Self check out just like the big city markets so that says they got their act together. Highly recommend this market to foodies as well as those looking to save a dime as their prices are very competitive if not lower than any super market I've been to in recent times. read more

This is an excellent local market with a very good selection of organic products. Excellent fried chicken bucket and will fry fresh fish for customers while they shop.Offer points for Weis frequent shopper to apply to specials. Like a special discount for corned beef in time for St. Patrick's day. Presently the pharmacy here is one of locations administering Covid vaccines in Pennsylvania. Polite and helpful staff. I have always found the restrooms to be clean and accessible. read more

Whenever I walk into Weis in Honesdale, PA and I see Carrie, Floral Manager her smiles becomes contagious. She is so welcoming and makes your shopping experience enjoyable. Tonight she was working in the seafood department and Carrie is very courteous and takes pride in helping every customer. If she knows your name she makes a point to say hello. We shop Weis frequently and have always had a positive experience. More people need to be like Carrie! read more

This store is way too short-staffed. The vast majority of staff are teenagers in the evening with no adults in sight. The service desk closes at 6 p.m. They are down to ONE human cashier so if there is a line you are forced to self-checkout. Then every 2nd or 3rd item doesn't ring up & you have to keep waiting for one of the kids to come to fix it. I will be driving a bit further for better service & prices from now on. read more

Just a basic chain store. Produce section is small and lacking a good organic selection. Bathrooms are filthy and smell horrendous. Store has a major black mold issue in the dairy section and workers were working on it this week to correct it. 10/17-10/21/2011 Prices on certain items like gluten free and organic are high. Pretty great grocery and with the extras. Beer, Pharmacy etc. Decent prices. Nice staff. Sandwiches. Lotion. Jarlsburg cheese.

The store is pretty dirty most of the time, except for the deli and the beer store (which are usually pretty clean and honestly have some of the only competent employees in the store), but the customer bathrooms feel downright contagious. They're dingy with a lot of shoddy repair work. The guy who cleans them does a good job, but honestly the bathrooms feels like they haven't been maintained structurally in 20 years. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY high, and they keep raising them but also keep putting up signs that say they have new lower prices. My handful of times shopping here have been mediocre at best, and there was a shorter brunette lady from the bakery who was incredibly rude and condescending. NOT A GOOD PLACE TO SHOP. Will probably only ever stop in for the beer store. read more

They are HORRIBLE when it comes to "sell by" dates . They leave molding and rotting food on the shelves instead of selling off short dated items at a discount, or putting the effort into grooming, and restocking. Often the meat has more than one label underneath and the same expired meat has been cut up and repackaged. One morning I had the audacity to ask the butcher to grind two large sirloin steaks into hamburger for me and he refused, complaining he had eighty pounds of meat to grind that day. This was a week after I heard someone else in the store boast that he was done two hours early because he had ground his "quota" for the day already. When asked about policy, often three managers will give you three different answers that suit the least amount of work that has to be done to resolve the question. The exception is the all inclusive "that's company policy" answer that gives you the distinct impression that they have no intellect of their own and cannot be trusted to think for themselves. Too often this seems to happen because they are the only convenient supermarket and enjoy being a monopoly in their specific market place. read more

I walked into the store because I would get sales flyers at my house and was never in a Weis Market before. I must say, it smelled great. I have no idea what they were cooking but it,was heavenly. The prices are higher than average. I did a little comparison to what I get at Price Chopper and Weis was higher. The produce looked nice but it was higher than I am used to paying. This store had a a beer section inside where it looks like a separate vendor is running a beer store inside Weis. I saw this in Milford but prefer to go to a place that just sells beer. Did not buy anything because I did not have a customer loyalty card and would not receive any discounts, plus was not going right home. read more

Every time I go there, my experience is positive. The place is not overcrowded, employees are friendly. They offer a number of discounts.

Weis Markets was a great store several years back, but they are horrible now (February 2020). The meat is poor quality, have returned on two occasions. The bakery department is horrendous! My husband went around 8 AM every Saturday and Sunday for doughnuts and turnovers and they were delicious, not anymore. He has gone to the store at 9:30 AM and no doughnuts, no turnovers or rolls. Lately we bought Italian bread that was marked with a date two days after we purchased it and it was stale and remarked for customers to purchase according to the date on the package. We bought rolls in the package, again stale and old. You have to beware of the dates on every item you purchase because many items are expired and still on the shelve for purchase, exp. Fruit Roll Ups, Chex Mix, Mozzerella cheese and the list goes on and on. I do not shop at Weiss anymore, the store went downhill and it's really a disgrace to expect consumers to buy food that is expired, poor quality and even food that has gone bad. I wish Weis would close down and another supermarket chain would take over. read more

I came here because I was spending the weekend at my girlfriend's family home in rural PA. They usually go to Dave's Super Duper, but me and my girlfriend like coming to this place more because I feel that they have a bigger selection. When you walk in you notice that the store is clean and well maintained. I also like when a supermarket is organized and the stuff is easy to find. There's nothing worse than going shopping Ant not knowing where anything is. The prices here are comparable to Dave's but they are higher in some regards which is why my girlfriend family likes to shop there rather than here. I also like that Weiss is more modern and more things that consumers would want to today than Dave's which feels somewhat old school. Personally, I've always been willing to spend the little extra money to go here and get what I want instead of going to Dave's and having to look to see if they even have what I am looking for. Overall, I would recommend this place if you are in the area and aren't sure if Dave's would have what you want. Just know that you might pay a little more here, but the extra few cents is worth it in my opinion. read more

I wanted to put some context on the reviews...Wayne County/Honesdale is a rural area; and, for the area, the produce section is large. I've shopped in both Waymart and Honesdale, and the store is clean, well maintained, and better stocked than other stores in the area. If you are expecting this Weis to be as large as ones in Scranton or Wilkes-Barre, you will be disappointed. However, if you have shopped in other grocery stores in the Honesdale area, you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

I had a really bad experience in the Honsdale Weis Market. I used my card, and the register person said it was declined, but yet the money was gone off my card. I think it was a scam. The manager finally got it resolved, and cashed most of my groceries back out for me, but I still went home missing at least $150.00 worth of groceries, because another employe started putting my stuff back, even though she was told not to. I was there a good hour, with now screaming grand children. I wrote the main office about the whole matter, and got no response, not even an apology. I told them I was very upset and disappointed. Here we are three months later, I have not been back in there, and have still not heard anything from the store owners. read more
