I believe the space is about five years old now, and the recent addition of Wendy to the staff has been a huge benefit, there are programs offered all week long: A "spa "time for women on the weekends, A time of singing midweek, open prayer times, and overall a lot of love offered to those who need it mostin our city. Consider volunteering to help out with this ministry if you are looking for a way to "give back."

Although somewhat expensive for an individual, I thought they were doing a good job and ensuring that I paid the taxes owed. Recently the Commonwealth of Kentucky sent me a notice that my 2011 tax return had been prepared in error and that I owed the additional tax, plus interest penalty and fee. I hand-delivered the notice to VonLehman's office in hopes that someone from VonLehman would review the matter with the State offices and assist in correcting the error. I received one follow-up phone call from VonLehman with a promise that someone from their office would look into the notice and get back to me, but no follow-up was ever done. I contacted the Kentucky Department of Revenue directly, recieved a revised biling notice and paid the tax due. VonLehman never did follow up with me to see if the matter had been resolved. Last month I recieved another notice from the Commonwealth of Kentucky stating that my 2013 return had been prepared in error. This time VonLehman did respond to me and turned the issue over to their tax specialist. The response from him was that the return had been prepared in error and that I do in fact owe the additional tax plus interest. I feel that VonLehman has, understandably, decided to focus on larger business clients and not spend any more time than necessary on individual returns. I would not recommend VonLehman as a tax preparer for individuals or for a small business unless they are managing all of your bookkeeping throughout the year.

I've been here a dozen times over the years and each time has been like trolling for gold. I almost always find something I want but hardly the things I need. Today was not one of those days however. I went to find office chairs with wheels and I found the cache that knocked my socks off! Don't bother even showing up to this place if you're not there on behalf of a not-for-profit because they will not allow you to shop. They are planning to set up some days where normal people and individuals can come to shop but they said that this is probably months from now. They have everything from cream Brûlée torches to wine decanters. ....And why exactly would a nonprofit need a wine decanter or cream Bruleé torch?:) i'm really looking forward to them opening it up for individuals to shop. You're welcome to donate while checking out, and you can also pay what you feel is fair based on your budget and what you think the item is worth. They do provide a suggested price when you check out, so it doesn't feel like an uncomfortable haggling situation. Whether you're looking for supplies for a craft night with friends, working on your own projects, or just want to browse and get inspired, this is a great place to visit. The center staffed by individuals who have overcome the obstacles of their own mental illness and has been existing since May 2006. The focus is on recovery, personal growth, education, computer skill development, creative expression and community involvement. They offer classes in 10 week increments taught by consumers and provide lunch daily. All services at the center are free!! I fully support this organization' they used to be a program of GCBH but just recently received their 501 3(c) and operate as an autonomous non profit agency. If you have friends or loved ones that struggle with mental illness as I highly recommend this place! There's no place like it in our county!
