I enjoy every class I take there, especially ones instructed by Amandine Babin and Clare Christie. They are both very open, friendly, and makes you feel at ease with their clear and easy to follow instructions. Amandine teaches Power/Vinyasa for all levels and her class makes you feel energised and ready to tackle the rest of the week. Clare teaches a Hatha/Restorative for beginners/intermediate class that is slower paced and more meditative and her class makes you feel serene and focused. I have been taking classes there on a weekly basis since November 2018 and my body has benefited from the sweating, stretching, binding, and flexing. Every class is a challenge but so much clarity, calm, and alignment comes afterwards.

Salty Yoga…read morecombines halo-therapy salt room breathing with positions that boost respiratory system awareness and depth. It will help you discover a more relaxed and responsive state through controlled breathing techniques in the presence of Himalayan salt vapors and its many health benefits.Salt is a mineral rich in anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammation properties. Since ancient times, salt therapy has been recognized as a means of strengthening the immune system and improving overall health. Although salt baths are more generally known and accepted, salt breathing--or halo-therapy--finds its roots right alongside other forms of ancient salt therapy methods. Salt gives off negative ions, which, when breathed deeply, may help our bodies balance the storm of positive ions we absorb from phones, computers and TVs as well as much of the electrical technology we are exposed to on a daily basis. It could help promote a greater equilibrium in our bodies, as well as keep us stronger, healthier and more resilient to the outside world. Among its many benefits, this class helps improve numerous aspects of your life including reaction time and short term memory. Those who have tried this practice have described feeling more relaxed and less distracted by their fleeting thoughts, demonstrating an enhanced ability to solve problems and recall information better.

But then I found The Yoga Hall. I have attended both Laura and Fin's classes for several years now (i gather they have other good teachers too) and both are completely amaizing. Somehow they take yoga to a completely different level. When I was pregnant with both of my children I had classes on Fridays with Laura which i really found helped. I suffered from really nasty Syatica (sp?) which was really bothering me and Laura took time to show me some special exercises which really helped. She always has time to talk about any individual worries that you have and I have noticed that she has also worked really well with people who have particular difficulties (for example there was a lady in my class who had a knee problem and Laura always took the time to make sure she knew what she should and shoudln't do and actaully she mentioned that Laura had given her some special exercises which were helping too). I also did the baby massage class which is completely brilliant. Both my babies absolutely loved it and it was actaully a really good way to meet other new mums and share experiences too. I did try another baby class in St Albans too as it was on a more convenient time but it wasn't anything like as good so I actaully changed my work days in order to go back to Laura's classes! (I know I sound a bit obsessed at this point..but believe me I am normal really!!!). I even found that the massage that I learned helped my babies sleep but they always slept the best when they had been to Laura's class that day. There are other things available at the yoga hall too - there is a trapeze class sometimes but I have never managed to get to one yet but my friend says it is great. All sorts of other things going on there too. Check out the website for more info. They are also a real community centre and I have made friends there too. It has such a lovel family atmosphere. (There is also a lovely cafe right next door which sever yummy and healthy food and drinks which is just perfect for a 'chill out' light salad or something afterwards.) I can't recommend them highly enough really. They blow everything else in St Albans (and elsewhere in my experience) out of the water.

Initially I was less committed, but as I began to understand my own potential and got better at not comparing myself to others in class (mainly worrying I would never be as flexible or as strong as my fellow classmates!) I started to attend more regularly. Yoga with Hana and Aya is dynamic, challenging and fun. I go along to 2-3 classes a week now and love everything about them; the friendly and welcoming attitude, the wonderful opportunity to practice outside in beautiful Finsbury Park and the excellent teaching. The indoor class at the Redmond Centre on a Monday night is close to home making it brilliantly convenient as an after work exercise option with not far to go after the class has finished! With its clean, large, spacious studio overlooking the West Reservoir at Woodberry Grove, the centre offers a great, enlightening space for practice. Hana clearly and intelligently provides superb direction ensuring you can appreciate the true purpose of each asana. Using the full time of the class (an hour in the park, an hour & 30mins in the centre), she encourages us to be curious and explore postures, not to adopt a one size fits all approach, making for a safer practice and teaching for all attending. The classes are intense, the work goes deep and the benefits stay with you throughout the week. I've met many new friends through Hana's classes, workshops and retreats and regularly recommend her to friends, neighbours and colleagues.

I love the Vinyasa Flow style classes that keep me really fit as they are really challenging, building on my core muscles and strength. I am a keen runner and rock climber and I find that Mindful Movements Vinyasa Flow keeps me in tiptop condition. The classes outdoors are an ideal way to get some fresh air and nature into my weekends and I also love the ambience of the candle evening classes at Islington Arts Factory and the Redmond Community Centre. Definitely the best Yoga you can find local to N4 for really reasonable prices!

When I'm in London, the yoga always feels a little weird, not satisfying. I've shopped a lot of studio in LDN, and Heartcore in Notting Hill has been my favorite so far! It's absolutely adorable, well kept and well staffed. Front desk was incredibly welcoming and warm, and I loved Sarah's class! One of the best flows I've taken in awhile, even in LA. Very unique flow and I felt wonderful afterwards. Save yourself the run around and take class here!
