I peeled my big toenail back from my toe-bed, and also had a deep gash. WellNow was near, so I drove myself there and limped, bleeding, into the lobby. Two young women were behind the desk. I don't remember them greeting me, they may have. One handed the other a tablet and told her she should give it to me to fill out the registration papers, and use it to take photos, front and back of my DL and both insurance cards. I walked to seating area, sat down and began to fill out the forms. I had difficulty taking the photos. I am a graphic artist and familiar with computers, but this tablet did not respond properly, imo. I was light-headed, shaky, and not 100%, I admit. I had to limp back to the desk to ask how to make the @ for my email address because the two shift buttons did not work as I expected. One of them took the tablet, inserted an @ and handed it back. When I was seated in the lobby again I saw the @ was in the wrong place. I tried fixing it, unsuccessfully. Perhaps since my email address was wrong, when I moved to the next page, someone else's name and information had populated the fields. I limped back to desk and told them I did not know who that person was. The one training the new woman looked at the screen and told me it was me, also that I had put the photos in the wrong place. I walked out and drove to Valentie, where I was greeted kindly and with patience, and received excellent care. The women at WellNow never gave me a kind look, asked my name, or what my injury was. The final insult was when she looked condescendingly at me and told me the person's name and information in the fields on the screen were mine. I can't help but think the fact that I have gray hair influenced her treatment of me. I will never go back, and I will never recommend WellNow. read more

I was very pleased with my recent visit here on a Saturday morning. The wait was not very long. The receptionists were cheery and professional, as were all the staff that I dealt with. The nurse practitioner/PA explained everything that she was doing in her examination, talked to me as an adult about my injury, her assessment and prescriptions, and carefully explained home care, reviewing the written materials with me. And they x-rayed me on site. Felt like a bargain for my $30 co-pay! I received competent, professional medical care. I came here after an awful experience at the urgent care on Rt 9 in Valatie, which I do not recommend at all. WellNow is independent of a hospital. They bought the St Peter's urgent care business and agreed to refer patients to St Peter's doctors. They can't see St Peter's records, but will fax to your doctor for you. read more

They took me in right away but then I spent 45 minutes sitting in a cold exam room and when I asked what was going on they told me there were still people ahead of me and that I was "a walk-in". Came here for a covid test w my boyfriend. There was no line and was ez checkin. The desk attendant wasnt very pleasant at all but maybe was a bad day. Other staff was nice & maybe three different people came to see us (?) seemed overkill. What was odd is that they took us through a battery of health things- questions, blood pressure, eyes ears nose, weight(?).... For a COVID Test! At the end we finally got the test I realized why they did all this last week when I got a bill for almost $400. They are doing outpatient visit health checks and tacking it on to the bill. My insurance doesn't pay this as they are not in network. This in my opinion is akin to fraud. I havent even contacted them & forwarded the bill to a legal service that handles these things - ive wasted so much time on things like this. I once had to fight a $400 bill for 3 years to get it resolved and out of principle- I will always fight these kinds of bills. Its just not right. I would give no stars but the two are because the nurses were sweet & its not their fault they work for a company that has less than noble business practices. If you go here, ask to see a breakdown first of all billing things and what is covered and not. Dont let some grumpy receptionist pressure you to move on or go home. You dont want to sit on the phone for 2 hrs like I did to resolve. The irony is that if these companies realize how much time and labor they waste in resolving billing issues, they would see that they are losing money or breaking even at best. I got it resolved on my end. it's pretty clear that they are not transparent with patients. Will never take my child there again. My kiddo has croup (second go around this season) and I took him in after he was really struggling in the AM. Looked him over and gave me a prescription for a med that I specifically asked them not to give (it's super bitter and impossible to flavor and give a fussy toddler). Called back to get a more suitable med and was told they wouldn't change it. This is for a kiddo who was a NICU baby who struggles with lung problems- a kid who woke up with blue lips and finger nails his last go around with croup. I would like to make an update on a previous review I made. My husband and I had a visit/billing issue with WelllNow in Streetsboro, OH. I seriously did not think I would get any response or resolution to my posted complaint and was surprised when I was contacted by Nicole with WellNow. Both front desk attendants were incredibly unpleasant and rude. I walked in and was greeted with a crass and cold attitude that set the tone for the rest of the visit. My Boyfriend went to Urgent Care on December 2,2022. When he got there, they informed him he had to make an appointment!! When he returns, he wanted to be checked for the flu. They decided not to do that test, they decided to give him a Covid test!! He wasnt there for symptoms of Covid!! He was there for symptoms of the flu!! I also witnessed a young Mom with her obviously very ill small child, they also told her to make an appointment!! This certainly isnt a URGENT Care facility!! Utilized the WellNow Urgent Care in Alpena Michigan when I seriouly injured my foot. I was in great pain and had to go to WellNow to obtain referral to an Orthopedic Clinic. Absent the referral I would have had to wait a month to get into the Clinic. When I entered the Clinic I was in a large boot and on crutches. I had to shoulder my way through their double doors as they were not electric/automatic (strike one). I thought that was odd for an emergency'urgent care facility. In spite of the fact that I was in great pain, in a boot and on crutches, they did not make a wheelchair available when I inquired about one. On the contrary, the lady that I spoke to stated, "I'm not sure if we have one". I was therefore required to hobble to the examination room, to the x-ray room and later. out of the bulding (strike two). After my x-rays were taken, nobody discussed the results with me. Nobody told me what was to happen with the records. They just handed me a "referral" for an Orthopedic follow up. (strike three) The next day I called the Orthopedic clinic and asked them about setting up an appointment as soon as possible. They indicated that they could not do so as they had no referral or records. I gave them the name of the WellNow Urgent Care facility that I had visited. They contacted the WellNow facility and called me back that afternoon to inform me that WellNow had not yet provided them with records. (strike four). I followed up with WellNow and was told that their "fax machine was down" and they were unable to transfer my records, (strike five). I explained to them that their fax machine problems were not my problem and that I would personally have the records driven over to the orthopedic clinic, if need be. The clinic was a mile and a half from the WellNow Center. They said they would discusss that to see if it was permissible. I did not hear back from them that day. In the meantime, I'm in serious pain. The following day I contacted the Orthopedic Clinic to find out the status of the document delivery by WellNow. I was told that someone from the WellNow Clinic had just hand delivered the documents and records by "throwing them" at the receptionist through the glass window.(strike six). Unfortunately, the records that WellNow delivered did not contain my xrays, nor was the system that WellNow uploaded my xrays to, compatible with that of the nearby Orthopedic Clinic - a cllnic that was associated with the ONLY Medical Center/Hospital in town. As, such, when I visited the orthopedic clinic the following day, they had to take a new set of xrays. (strke seven) Finally, when the Nurse Practitioner at the clinic reviewed my new xrays, I was informed that, contrary to the conclusion that WellNow had reached and noted in their records, there were indeed anomalies appearing in those xrays that were indicative of bone spurs and arthritis (strike eight). While my experience may not be representative of the quality of care normally provided by WellNow, it was sufficient for me to conclude that if someone is dying and I am transporting them near a WellNow Urgent Care facility, I will bypass their facility and seek out the nearest veterinarian clinic in hopes of saving their life. read more

Brought my daughter in on a Saturday because she was kicked in the head at soccer on Wed and coach wanted her seen before she played again. Wellnow seen her, did exam and said they couldn't clear her until she was reevaluated again 5-7 days after her incident. They gave me a paper and it said to come back on said date. Returned on said date and they called us in. Did exam and then says we can't clear her, only her primary care physician can do that. I said why was I told then on Saturday to come back on this day to have her reevaluated if you couldn't clear her? They said let me look at what was written when you were here Saturday. They left and came back and said regardless what was written we can't clear her. Why did they do the exam and charge my insurance of they couldn't actually do the job they were suppose to do? Wasted two visits for nothing and can't even get clearance from her own doctor because he can't see her until the 15th and soccer is don't on the 18th. This Urgent Care needs to get their act together. I had to get a yearly health assessment for my job so I decided to try this Five Star Urgent Care that recently opened in my area instead of going to my primary, which was my first mistake. When I arrived on a Wednesday round 3:00pm, I gave them my name and I told them that my job had already faxed them the information they needed for my health assessment, they had no idea where it was or what to do. After filling out A LOT of paperwork and seeing a nurse practitioner, who was very nice, I was instructed to come back any time on Friday to have my PPD read. I came back Friday morning and had it read and received the paperwork on the results. A few hours after I left I received a call from them that they read the results too soon and to come back in any time after 3:00pm. Even though I had a lot of things to do, I made it a point to stop back in. When I got their, everything was fine but then they say I had to wait until after 4:00pm to have it read. I told them I was told to stop in after 3, which I did and I have a dinner date with my Father for his birthday and I am NOT waiting an hour. They are so unorganized and mis-informative on proper procedures that it makes me wonder if proper care is being given. I WILL NEVER go back and I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Disappointing covid testing experience on Friday 11/20. I need to make complex and urgent decisions about caregiving for sick parents and thus need to know my covid status ASAP. I explained my situation to reception and two nurses; only after the swab was done did the PA mention that, because it was Friday afternoon, the samples wouldn't go out until Monday so I won't have a hope of the rapid results they promise on their website of 2-3 days after the sample was taken. Had I known this, I would have sought out another testing location. You should seek out another testing location if you need rapid results. P.S. Had a terrible experience here. My son was referred to get a Lyme's disease test and for a month they said they hadn't gotten the results back. Then when our insurance asked for the doctors referral notes to justify medical necessity for the testing we were told that they couldn't do that?!
