They were at the house before i got there all ready to go. They explained every step of the process thoroughly and made sure I understood if there were any issues what i would be seeing in the report. They made suggestions where they could of things they would fix or improve if it were their home. I loved that I was purchasing an old home and Gene has a lot of expertise in this area. He was so excited to do the inspection and talk about improvements it was like he was a part of the family he was just as excited about our home as we were. My 6 year old daughter tagged along on the inspection and they were so patient with her. They chatted with her about what color she would paint her room and all the renovations that the little boss had planned lol. Upon leaving they made sure to let us know to contact them if we have any questions or need recommendations for anything. We received the inspection report bright and early the next morning and it was very beautifully packaged with photos and underlining, arrows and simple explanations. Everything was so easy to locate and understand. The price was slightly more than what i paid for another inspection on a similar home a few months prior but it was well worth it as they were way more thorough and i feel that i got more out of the experience. Did i mention that they squeezed me in the next day after i initially called and was sure they were going to tell me no way. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

RUN! Everything went well with installation and I was happy until the problems began…read more No one answers the phone at the location Service technicians make appointments when you are able to contact them on their phones, then cancel appointments or don't show up at scheduled time. They don't call to tell you they are running late or call to reschedule. You have to keep calling them. I purchased and oxygenated water system, soft water system, and Reverse Osmosis system. The problems first began when water started coming out of the tap the color of milk. We were never told this was part of the oxygenation process by sales or upon installation. People are afraid to drink the water when they see the color. Then the water from every tap tasted of salt and was undrinkable, I had to buy bottled water after opening a fortune on this system. When I spoke to Stephen in the office he refused to get someone out until the following week. it took two service calls for someone to resolve that issue. I was told by both the sales representative and service techs that Stephen owned the company. However, the one and only time I was able to get anyone in the office regarding the problems was Stephen and he denied it. A few weeks ago my water was no longer soft, I reached a technician on his personal phone and scheduled an appointment. On the morning of the appointment I received a call from the technician because he he had to cancel the appointment and would call me to reschedule when he got to the office. I did not receive a call and had to call and text him the end of that week to reschedule the appointment. The day of that appointment I received a call that he was running late and he gave me an updated time of arrival, he showed up late. In addition, I smelt a strong odor of beer from him but did not confront him because I was alone. When the technician checked the water upon arrival and before he left, he confirmed the water was hard. However, he assured me that after it went through it's cycle the problem would be resolved. While I was venting my frustration to the technician about the problems we were experiencing he actually told me we were not experiencing any problems. I then had to run through the list again and he insinuated that I was the one that had the problem and I was lucky I wasn't being charged for all the service calls. Once again, I never heard from anyone to schedule the follow up appointment My husband then reached him and an appointment was scheduled. My husband told his employer he would be in late because he wanted to be here for the appointment. The appointment was scheduled for 9:00 AM today 11/21/22 and no show or call. At 9:11 AM my husband place his first call to the technician and his call went to his voice mail. At 9:17 AM he called the office only to be sent to a voice mail at every extension. Three more calls were placed to the technician with no response. We had the phone number of another technician that had been to our house and my husband reached that technician. The technician that was supposed to be at the appointment was with him so he passed the phone to him. The technician insisted with my husband that my husband strong armed him to come on Monday and that he wanted to come on Tuesday instead. My husband explained he took time off of work, because this was the day and time the technician told him when they spoke. If he said he wouldn't be able to get out until Tuesday, he would have scheduled the appointment for Tuesday and gone in late. My husband was told the other technician would arrive around noon and he would eventually arrive as well. We are awaiting their arrival. I DO NOT RCOMMEND THIS COMPANY! We spent a fortune for these systems and the service is horrendous. In addition to having to purchase water because it was undrinkable due to the salt, now we have water spots on everything because the water is hard. I have just filed a formal complaint with the finance company they use. I feel they should be aware of the problems with dealers they do business with. They tried to reach them as well but were unable to contact anyone at the office either. I feel as though we have been scammed.

Pete had a quick response time and communicated professionally and intelligently. He is knowledgeable in his field and is obviously very passionate about his work. I was impressed by his friendly disposition and laser focus. I hired Pete to inspect a 120+ year old farmhouse, which I ultimately purchased. He was exceedingly thorough-- as he was on the premises for several hours. I also opted to have additional water and gas testing. The final 350 page report with photos was prepared and emailed to me promptly. His work was complete with in-depth descriptions, observations, and recommendations. Pete was readily available to answer all of my questions and even followed up with me multiple times after inspection day! Pete is not only an exceptional home inspector but also very personable, honest and genuine! His price is fair and well deserved. Thank you!!

tl;dr - Avoid this company at all costs unless you want to risk having your home damaged for work…read morethat could charitably be considered low quality. "More like the Home Destroyer" is what another contractor stated once they saw the work that was done in our home by The Basement Transformer also know as The Home Transformer. I will admit that they are very slick salesmen, able to sell you on promises of all the great work they will do to completely transform your space, and they seem to be the exclusive distributors of several products that are waterproof for finishing areas of a home that may get wet. In fact, we spoke to John after we suffered a devastating flood that destroyed the ground floor of our home, and requires extensive work to make it usable again. They came in and assessed the issues and presented some solutions. As we weren't quite sure what our final plans would be, we figured we would stat with getting a cement floor poured. First up was the demolition work, which took much longer than was expected, largely due to scheduling issues they were having because they "had so much work" and were short staffed. The people who had been doing the work even ended up quitting the company even though we had been told they had been working with them for years. They did a lot of unnecessary demolition such as taking down the upper cabinets from our former kitchen, which suffered no damage, likely to justify charging us nearly $10k for a job that other contractors told us they would have been able to do for a quarter of the price. Then came the floor, which was so poorly poured that I'd have been better off doing the work myself. The floor poured is so uneven that I can't put down a 4' level anywhere on the floor where I don't get a big gap under it. Beyond that it seems they didn't even screed several sections, and they left behind swirl marks in sections where they did screed. While that would be bad enough, they later tried to "fix" the poor work they did by grinding the swirls out. However, when doing that work, they failed to isolate the work area, and we ended up getting a massive cloud of silica dust that was so thick it set of smoke detectors two floors up from where they were working. All of our belongings were covered in silica dust that we're still dealing a year and a half after the fact, creating a situation that might have played a role in a really bad cough I developed. What really set these guys apart was just how rude and nasty they got when we were trying to come to a resolution with them for the damage they did to our home and it's belongings, claiming that the issues were our fault because "we had too much stuff" or implying that we were having money troubles. The solutions they did offer were entirely inadequate at addressing the issues they created, and they stopped communicating with us once we told them how much it would cost for them to properly clean up the mess they created. Orange County doesn't have licensing for contractors which is probably the only reason they are able to continue to do business. If you're thinking of doing business with this company, ask yourself if the risk of damage is worth it.

Overall terrible experience - from trying to get an itemized bill for insurance (3 versions, still not itemized. Gave up asking.) They demo'd walls and all window treatments (we did not ask for and I cried), dumped a full truckload of gravel in our driveway - a year later - we still don't have access to our full driveway (after moving half of what was left behind!). Not one spot of the 700sq feet floor is level. There are ripples big enough to trip over, so they decided to SAND DOWN the CEMENT ripples, but FAILED TO PUT UP ANY BARRIERS - NO PLASTIC. SILICA COATED THREE (3) floors of our living area. I had them stop work when our smoke detectors started going off on the 3rd floor. I was outside clueless. My partner called me because his phone was going off saying there was a smoke condition. I walked inside to a ball of dust. I called John from outside immediately... because no one but 2 workers were here and there was a language barrier. "Some dust is to be expected." I replied quite confused and upset at his lack of understanding...as we had b waiting 4 months for the sanding. It was a big day for us. A useable floor. I replied to John with a bit more urgency and pictures. Many pictures... "This isn't some". John said it was safe to enter. And knowing better I said, "No. You don't understand, you need to get over here immediately." I called my partner, told him John said it was safe to enter? My partner and his coworkers in construction said to vacate, get the pets, computers, etc... because it's toxic. I sat in the car with 3 pets, took a business meeting in the car, and then demanded they clean and put us in a hotel. Reluctantly, they did. Still continuing to refused to give us their insurance information... They hired local cleaners to spot clean, but refused a deep clean. Cleaners didn't even mop floors. 8 hours isn't enough time to clean a toxic silica mess. $20k concrete floor Unfinished and not functional Partner needed a nebulizer (thank God, no kids here) Work Started 1 year 7 months ago Work Stopped Multiple Times - excuses always they same -people quit/fired, -out of state meetings, -multiple excuse (at least four (4) times) of 'too busy with other clients' *while they had our money* They stopped working completely after silica dust fiasco with no remed, leaving us without a usable floor, spending an additional $1,500 in air quality testing, health hazard, pollution inside, and now a fully wrecked 3 floor house, everything we saved from the flood instead was made exponentially worse.

Although my window for inspection was only 7 days, he was also able to squeeze me in for an inspection and got me my report within 3 days! I'm super grateful for that. On the day of the inspection, Abe and Nick let me join in on the process and even encouraged me to take my own notes. Every step of the way was a learning process for me and I gained a ton of new knowledge on structural info, safety, energy saving tips and more on the house. He also put in some candy if you're feeling peckish, some hand sanitizer, flashlight and bandaids--all super useful stuff. Folder includes info packets, and even a final walk through checklist.
