I went in to deposit a check on 6/4/2026. I was in a serious car accident back in February and have just received my settlement check to cash in. I walked in and was expecting to see a teller and fill out a deposit slip to deposit the check since the amount is very large. The lady with the black hair told me "Oh no you can just deposit it over at the ATM" and we asked her "will it accept an amount this large?" And she replied "Yes" so I proceeded to make the deposit. An hour after making the deposit, I got an email directly from wells fargo ATM service telling me that my check could not be accepted. I called and they said that the check was flagged and that I have to wait (at least a week) for a "certified copy" of the check to be printed and mailed. Mind you they aren't sending the original check and told me that if I tried to go back into the bank to get the original check it would take even longer. And this is frustrating because I don't even know if they will accept this new "certified copy." Mind you I was already waiting on the original check through the mail and was anticipating having money available by tomorrow with the rest of the money coming June 10th. The wells fargo ATM service people also told me "if it is a check from a new issuer then you are required to see a teller and you can only deposit checks into the ATM from an issuer you have received a check from before" The lady with the black hair did not tell us this information whatsoever and I am beyond baffled now that I have to wait an additional week for the check to mail and a total of an additional two weeks just to get the money cleared that should have been cleared immediately if she had done her job the RIGHT way and taken me to a bank teller like I had originally requested. Your service and your employees' lack of knowledge just costed me precious time while I still have to manage copays, bills, and physical rehabilitation of some very traumatic injuries. Do not trust a word the employees say here unless they are actually the bank teller themselves. I am beyond frustrated and pissed off now that I have to wait EVEN LONGER (I already waited 3 and a half months since the accident back in February) to get my money and I genuinely have no words for the utter confusion and inconvenience I have been caused. I am leaving ONE star and WISH that I could leave zero stars for what you have just done to me. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy but you have costed me yet again more time and suffering on top of all that I have already been through. I do not trust your service or your employees anymore and it is very obvious that you guys do not care about doing your job. You would rather push me off and send me to the ATM than actually doing your job and accepting my check. Even after seeing me walk through the door with a walker struggling to make steps. So seriously, do not trust these employees. This is beyond rude, inconsiderate, and lazy of you all and I hope you read this review and tell your employees otherwise because this is absolutely unreal. read more
