Worst. Bank. Ever. Seriously - avoid at all costs. Went in to open a student checking account and was told to make an appointment, which we did for the next day because there weren't any available that day (of course). Came back the next morning at 9:30am for our 9:30am appointment, checked in on the WF app, and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes. At 10:15am we started to walk out and finally a banker asked us if we were her 10:30am appointment. We told her that we had a 9:30am appointment and were literally walking out to go across the street to 1st Interstate Bank (waaaay better reviews) but she agreed to help us open the account. If we didn't already have WF accounts (for 23 years) we'd have left for sure but they had us between a rock and a hard place because linked accounts were necessary. The bank is HUGE and has about 4 people working there, none of whom seem to give a sh$t about their prospective clients. Don't waste your time here. I'll never set foot in this branch ever again. Absolutely TERRIBLE. Just the worst. Don't walk out, run. Or better yet, never go in. read more

You had my account since I was 5....as an adult you have done nothing for me except charge high ridiculous fees, turned me down for a car loan and report a bogus Chex Systems. Disappointed yet again by the Bozeman Wells Fargo. Don't waste your time here and open an account at a local bank like First Interstate. This time: brought in a bunch of unrolled coins knowing that they have a coin machine (the business I work for uses it), and was told by manager Kyle that even though I have a long-standing personal checking account with them, they only let businesses use their coin machine. He would not change his mind and suggested that I go to a coin star, which charges a fee. Sweet customer service, Wells Fargo! Last time: had all my accounts SHUT DOWN after trying to deposit a check that was not backed by funds (from the person writing it). I had not tried to use the funds and had plenty of other money in my (again, long-standing) accounts. It is beyond me why they didn't just freeze the deposit so that I could not access the money from the bad check that SOMEONE ELSE had written to me. I was totally unimpressed by the manager trying to "help" me, as I watched him call Corporate and not try one time to advocate on my behalf. read more

This had to be the best banking experience I've had in years. I opened an account with Anna this afternoon. What a pleasant young woman. It was late in the day, and she took her time explaining my options and just chatting. I am visiting from California, and although I don't opt for big banks, I needed to establish myself with a bank that has branches through out the U.S. I felt as though I was in a hometown bank. My experience here at Wells Fargo May 22nd with Taylor was horrible!! I have been a Wells Fargo client for 30 years.. My debit cards had a withdrawal limit of $1000 per day.. I had received 2 new cards in the mail and my limit was reduced to $300 per day.. I went into the branch to increase them back to my normal limit and was met by Taylor. After looking over my account she stated that she would not be raising my limit due to a few overdrafts, which had nothing to due with my spending limits. She treated me like a criminal over a simple task of rising my card withdrawal limits.I asked to speak with the higher management and she stated there was nothing they could do for me either. She said there was nothing more she could do for me and directed me to leave pointing to the door. I left the bank wanting to close my account that day. Instead I called Wells Fargo Corporate and spoke to a high level case manager about my limits. She did not understand why I was treat so poorly at the Bozeman branch over simple task. They gladly raised my limits back up and higher and thanked me for being a loyal customer. Don't do business at this Bozeman Branch, especially with Taylor. read more

Do you like getting lied to and cheated by your bank, all with the worst customer service I've ever experienced? If so, Wells Fargo is definitely your type of place. If not, bank anywhere else, please. You can read the long version of my experience below: I started a business that required online credit card processing and, not knowing any better at the time, decided to use Wells Fargo as both my account holder and merchant services provider. The first red flag should have been the fact that they wanted us to sign a contract for the merchant services that included a three year term, a $3500 early cancellation fee and a $25 per month fee regardless of whether or not anything was processed plus 3% of transactions and, perhaps the most ridiculous of all, we had to make a transfer at least once per month to avoid another fee. It being a startup, we told them that we would not be signing a three year contract on anything. They agreed to that change, made it and we all signed and loaded the account with a few grand. Our developer was moving pretty slowly on our application so it ended up being a few months before we processed anything. Let me tell you how much fun it is to see $25 per month leave for absolutely no value. We also had to send someone to the bank once per month to make the stupid transfer and avoid another fee. By the time our website was operational, we had immediate problems with credit cards being processed by Wells Fargo. The money would take forever to land in our account and the processing was incredibly unstable - there were constant errors. After a swing and a miss on the business, we decided to close up shop and move on. What should have been a 10 minute visit to the bank to close out the accounts turned into multiple months of fighting with Wells Fargo's unbelievable incompetent employees. First, they closed our main business checking account but not the merchant services account. We didn't know it until we got a notice that the account we no longer had was overdrawn because they'd tried to pull out the $25 merchant services fee. Finding no money in the closed account, they charged an overdraft fee. We called and were unable to resolve it then went down a few days later to find that they'd continued to charge the overdraft fee for days, resulting in hundreds of dollars in fees in an account that was closed because of an account that was supposed to be closed. After over an hour and 4-5 employees working on it, they fixed the problem and assured us that everything was now closed. A few weeks later, we received a notice that we were in breach of our three year contract for merchant services and owed Wells Fargo $3500. That's right, the contract that we'd had amended to have no term now had a term. Another unsuccessful phone call and we had to go down again. This time, we were there for over two hours. The manager insisted that we had signed the contract with a term although he couldn't produce the contract. He called us liars and tried every trick in the book to get us to pay the fee. We refused and returned several days later with the contract that we had luckily retained a copy of showing that there was no term. Having no leg left to stand on, they eventually reversed the fee and we were finally free of Wells Fargo. Why people tolerate Wells Fargo in an age of commoditized banking and awesome web-based credit card processing is beyond me. If you value your time, money and sanity, please, go literally anywhere but Wells Fargo. A mattress would be a better choice for your money. read more

Be very careful with this"Friendly Bank", want overdraft protection you will get a credit card, want a line of credit you will get another credit card and get charged $150 a year for it, want to get charged extra for depositing cash, this is your bank. They will also let you withdraw more money than is in your account and not say a word, is that so they can charge your credit card and collect a fee, $20 plus interest on the card. This may not be all Wells Fargo banks but it is mine and as one teller told me I don't make the rules. Tried to close this account, but now a charge has been added to my zero balance so I can't close it until I pay that as well and wait 4 days for it to post. Waiting for the next fee to show up before the 4 days are up. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. The teller line is amazingly understaffed and when it is staffed is ALWAYS has new people working it. Sarah Gracey and her management staff is lazy and apathetic towards customers. Do not, under any circumstances use this bank. read more
