My mom won on a scratch-off, so the check she was given was a Wells Fargo check. We went to this location, and Karen was a nightmare. My mom handed Karen her license and the check. She goes, "You won the lottery? I've never seen this type of check before." We both informed her that it came directly from the Colorado Lottery office. She said, "Are you a member?" My mom stated no. I was told you can cash the check regardless. She repeated numerous times that she had never seen a check like this before, and it wasn't a Wells Fargo check. She spoke to a co-worker next to her, and she informed her to run the check in the system. Karen's exact words were, "I'm not doing that," and she whispered something to the young lady and walked away. She walked back over to us and stated that she was going to look for the manager. She took a while to come back, and when she did, she stated that the manager said we can't cash the check at all; it has to be deposited. I said that's not true, and I called the Colorado Lottery office and spoke to Heather at the Grand Junction office. Heather stated that their checks are Wells Fargo checks and they are supposed to cash them even if you're not a member. Heather asked my mom's name and looked it up to be sure nothing was wrong with the check. Nothing was wrong with the check. I informed Heather that Karen had never run the check at all; she refused to even put it into the system for some reason of her own. So Heather asked for the branch manager's information. Karen handed me a card. I gave Heather the information so they could call. After 10 minutes, I went up in line to speak to someone. Karen, with an attitude, says, "We can't cash the check; you have to deposit it, and you don't have an account." I stated I wasn't going to ask about that. Why the attitude? Why assume a reason for me getting in line? I asked if this was a direct number for the branch manager, Ms. Hoyer, on the card. She said she isn't here; she's on vacation. I said you told us you went to the back to speak with her. She got annoyed and started getting red, and said, "I called a different branch." I said, "What branch was that, and who did you speak with?" Karen said she didn't know the branch location because she called the guy's cellphone number. Wow, just wow. That's not protocol if she did that, I'm sure, but I feel like it wasn't the truth at all. Why was there so much pushback? She was acting as if it was coming out of her paycheck. People like this shouldn't have forward-facing customer service jobs. She's unprofessional and a liar. She needs to be removed from the floor and trained immediately or fired. Thirty-plus of my family members closed our Wells Fargo accounts seven years ago because of people like her who worked there. WF doesn't have a good reputation, especially with minorities. People like Karen prove that the bank as a whole operates like this. By the way, we went to the location up the street, and my mom cashed her check with no problems. No attitude, no asking weird unprofessional questions (nothing to do with banking), no turning red, and no lies. She did her job and with a smile. read more

Wells Fargo is not a user friendly bank: 1- you have to make an appointment to see a bank representative. You cannot just walk in and get a wire, open an account, etc. 2- they will put a 7-day hold on deposits. In this era, that is unacceptable. Tough to run a business with that constraint. 3- the branches I have gone to are poorly staffed. Just had my appointment cancelled due to that. You learn something new every day. I hate banks.. I really do. Everything takes so long to get accomplished. It ranks right up there with the post office for me. It's torture to usually have to go into a bank to get anything done. I had made a mistake and wrote a really big check from the wrong bank and account so I had to move some money quickly. I got to this location with a rather large cash deposit and they didn't give me a hard time about it or even roll their eyes like I have experienced before with other locations of this bank. They made it quickly and with a smile actually. The new thing I learned was from an incident a week earlier where the dog ate my debit card. Yes he did, brand new one I had just gotten. When I could not scan it for them the nice lady behind the counter told me they could give me an instant one. You can do what?? Yes, they can issue you a debit card on the spot! Here's where I get a little pretendious! I've been banking with Wells Fargo for years. I have several accounts with them. I was in the area and decided that I needed some cash. Usually I would hit the ATM and be in and out in a flash. Instead, I went inside to do a withdraw and got what I called MAULED! I understand that customer service is paramount these days but is a person's privacy! I was asked no less than 10 times how I was doing and If I was being helped!!! I mean really? Terrible attitudes - rude, impatient and unhelpful. I've been a customer for more than a decade and that doesn't seem to matter. Their policies regarding deposits, fees and other investment requirements seem to change frequently and none of the employees are able to clearly articulate them. I have to pay a compliment to the staff at this location. I stopped in today for a quick transaction and was blown away by the friendliness and genuine desire to help. Never have I had an employee run out, open and hold the door for me as I entered a bank. I was promptly offered coffee/water as I waited for a banker. I had a one minute wait, if that. I never thought I would write a review for a bank. It is always a pleasure going there, the staff is extremely friendly and always helpful and the lines are never long. I used to dread having to deposit a check or go to the bank for whatever random reason I couldn't do it on my mobile phone or website. But I have to say I enjoy going to this location and in fact would prefer to go there than use my mobile app. That says a lot. Thank you for the great service. Tried to deal with the rudest outright lying service manager I've ever encountered. Having worked for Citibank, Vectra and Bank of the West I can tell you I've never experienced an attitude like hers. My son had a service charge of $12.50 for a transfer from one account to another because he didn't pay attention to the balances. I requested they reverse the charge but she explained the cost was very high because the transfer was done by a human being. Either she thought I was stupid or she is. When I said that wasn't the case she said "I won't reverse the charges then". Nice! I will close my mortgage out and the two bank accounts within the month. Keep up the good work-it explains why the place is empty and bankers just stand around greeting you like you're at a furniture store hussle. read more

I have been banking at Wells Fargo for years and have been happy with the quality of service. This particular branch was by far the worst and most unprofessional experience I have ever had at a bank. Tatyana was the personal banker working with me; when she was prompted thru some automated steps; Tatyana kept responding rudely to an AUTOMATED machine asking me "is this a joke?" She would hang up, redial and go thru the same steps, responding rude and asking me if it was a joke. The issue was an incorrectly entered phone number. After the information I was seeking was verified and my transactin had been made, I asked for a paper confirmation of the transaction and she asked me "can we do that?" Yes, a paper copy is available. I can't recommend this location at all. read more
