Online banking app that crashes constantly, and hold times of multiple hours. Last straw was today... I went into this branch, with only two people working on a busy Saturday. I wanted to cash a matured EE savings bond, which is a simple transaction. The teller said she "wasn't qualified to do anything with it", and had never seen such a thing. I was told to wait for the "banker" in the office, and to have a seat. Every single chair in the branch looks like someone wet themselves or had a bowel movement on the fabric. I stood and waited... For over an hour. I'm finally ushered in to see the "banker". Standing again (his office chairs were the worst... See pictures), I wait another 20+ minutes as he puts the wrong bond series in, mistypes the serial number multiple times, and ultimately says he can't help me. At this point I closed my account. Thankfully that only took about 20 minutes. I then went to Chase on Abercorn, and in less than 3 minutes the bond was cashed and I was on my way. I recommended to the "banker" that he invest $5 in a can of upholstery cleaner before leaving.

I've been with this bank for years and had been mostly pleased until my interaction with the employees of the Wilmington Island branch today. Normally everyone is very polite and helpful, but from the moment I walked through the door, there was the distinct impression that my business was not wanted. I was not greeted and the teller had a very sour attitude. Then, the woman that was supposed to help me notarize something was incredibly abrasive and rude. I understand if the bank cannot notarize something if the signature is not that of the person who holds the account with the bank, but there was no reason for me to be spoken to and treated the way that I was today. These are all older women, and I am a young woman and got the impression that they were judging me. I will never return to this branch again except to use the ATM. The service has gone incredibly downhill over the years.

The tellers are wonderful and even take time to recognize you, acknowledge you and even get to know your kids' and pets' names (there's only been one who isn't my favorite, but the rest are amazing). I rarely have a huge balance in my account but they never make me feel like my money doesn't matter. Keep doing what you're doing at that branch! (sadly, I have had a few horrible experiences at the Hodgson Memorial branch, but I've also had some great experiences at the downtown branch, so, I guess we can call it balance. She also informed me that accounts can be open at the branch with just a little bit of information.
