Opened Spring 2017, this park features wooden play equipment on the Recreation Ground, near to the Bishop's Palace and Wells Cathedral. There is a good range of play equipment, and the play area is fully enclosed and gated. It features a large wooden play castle, swings, rockers, climbing structures, a seesaw, and a roundabout among other things. Beyond the play area is a large recreation field, with an outdoor gym, picnic benches and a football goalpost. Dogs are allowed off lead on the recreation field but are not allowed in the play park. Adjacent to the play park is the Bowls Club, the Bishop's Barn, a bandstand, and a block of public toilets. Beyond the park you will find the Bishop's Palace, which has a picturesque moat perfect for feeding the ducks and resident swans; the moat, the entrance way, the café and the Gift Shop can all be accessed for free, you only pay to go into the Palace itself and formal gardens. read more
