Carol Kessel made me beg and cry for help after TMS didn't work…read more she really lacks empathy. i believe she was 24 when i saw her and the tms guy was 21, and the desk staff was 21 also. the staff is inexperience and doesnt acknowledge you when you walk in. they'll even get up and leave. i made payments but they can't find them. they just sent me a email saying i owe but no date, not an offical bill, no insurance info, just call this number to pay. its funny cuz i did pay for 3 tms tx and now they want more money without explinationl. the desk girls are rude. bansal get young people and probably pays bad because staff changes.

I was…read moretold that my insurance would cover my visits and that everything was verified however that was not the case. I understand that sometimes things get mixed up with insurance and was very reasonable when they called me with a very large bill as I had already had several visits. There were still outstanding claims on my file so we agreed that they would call me back with my final bill and to set up a payment plan. They never called me back with my final bill and simply sent me to collections. When I called back to explain the situation the receptionist and assistant to director, Jeannette, was very dismissive, did not apologize for their mistake, and simply told me that they deleted my file and she has no access to any information about me at this point. I'm very disappointed with how they handled the situation and would warn anyone against coming here.

I took over an hour to complete the intake questions that went very in depth about my child, My purpose for the visit was clearly stated both in my original phone call and in the extensive questionnaire. I specifically asked the person setting up the appointment if it was necessary for me to be actually present at each visit or if my parents could bring her. I work, and as a single parent and public school teacher, my allotted days off for the year are limited. Early on the therapist asked me why I was bringing my daughter in. I asked her if she had the chance to look over the extensive questionnaire prior to our visit, at which time she told me that she really hadn't looked at it in depth. She lacked warmth and care. Early on in the appointment she reprimanded my 5 year old many times telling her to sit a certain way and to pay attention. My nervous daughter came to sit by me, and instead of just allowing it, she redirected the two of us over to the couch. I let her know about the death of the family member and instead of addressing it with my daughter, she turned the conversation toward how children can behave inappropriately and get into trouble. I told her my daughter was a typical kid and not any trouble. I told her we were seeking help due to the trauma of losing our family member just months ago, and that my daughter was adopted and might need to work through some of that too. (Keep in mind I had went into this in great detail in the questionnaire I had took an hour to fill out.). She set up a game of Memory with 36 pieces and expected my daughter to sit still and follow her rules for 15-20 minutes of the game. NOT ONCE during the game did she talk with her about her deceased sister. At the end of the appointment my daughter asked if she could get the piece of candy she had been promised and the therapist snapped at her that it was not time yet. We went to set up another appointment and I let her know that my mom or dad would be bringing her to the next appointment. She informed me that that was not going to be acceptable that I would need to be present at regular appointments. I would not need to be at everyone but that it was necessary that I was present at many of them. I told her that I was a single mom who worked as a public school teacher and that I did not have that many sick days. She told me that I could take FMLA. I found it to be quite Disheartening, She was not willing to work around the schedule of a single mom and told me that there were not any nighttime appointments available. They would all have to be during the day because all of her long-term clients or taking up the nighttime appointments. I have left this establishment with a very bad feeling about their position with helping people in the community. You would think that this therapist would be willing to work around a single parent schedule and allow for grandparents to bring in Her little client. In the long run, it will probably be for the best, as I didn't feel she had the ability to connect with my young daughter anyway.

All of the…read morepeople I talked there and where the paper work should go to had negative responses and all knew of her as this is an ongoing problem with them. The therapists I talked both inside and remote knew of this and could do nothing about. So I am asking the CEO of this place to fire this person and get rid of the sign in the lobby that gives them permission to act that way. This costed me even more money than it should have and could of cost me more jail time all because of wanting failure of this employee.

I was charged with a crime involving alcohol, and used alcohol excessively at times during a rough…read moremarriage. I'm still going through a lot right now but substance abuse is not a problem. After my assessment I asked why I was still being recommended for group treatment and was told it was due to my charges. I completed group which did nothing for me and am now in "after care." I do not know if this type of therapy helps others and can only speak for myself -- I have mental health problems where alcohol was an occasional byproduct, but this group focuses solely on substance abuse. I have no urges for anything that will make me lose full control of my mind. I like my mind. Earlier while in the first group there were times where I could not connect via Zoom as I was not being let in. I called and left messages and used screenshots of my zoom meeting not connecting. It turned out a facilitator who had filled in for the regular one had neglected to document my attendance a day before and I was "kicked out," so I ended up having to start over. They apparently told my probation officer that I did not show up. They also seem unorganized as they will email you different links for different days and different times. I hate to give this review, most of these people are good, nice people. But I honestly believe this program is a scam for government funding which also explains why they don't seem to respond to bad reviews. Maybe some people who need this program do benefit from it, I don't know. I am seeing a therapist to help me better myself and to grow, someone that is interested in treating my actual problems. I gain nothing from Lakeside's program. But I will continue it as required. Note: If you are required to enter this program through probation or parole, they can report on anything you say. There is no confidentiality which should always be a standard when it comes to mental health.
