I spent four days riding with WERIDE in Sintra in the end of May 2018. This was my third trip with the guys and second in the Lisbon area. This time I only rode in Sintra, which gave plenty of riding for four days. I was a bit suspicious about only riding in Sintra, but in the end there was more than enough trails in the area. First two days I joined another group and we did uplifts for the whole days and the last two days there was me + 1 client riding and we pedaled up these days. The riding in Sintra suits all skill levels and even fitness levels (if using uplifts). The trails are varied with several different soil types: some loamy, some rocky, some sandy, some rooty and then combinations of these. Some trails are wide open, some are covered with vegetation and a few have a nice oceanic view ending up your ride at the beach! Some trails have loads of berms, some are more natural, some include drops and some even jumps. You could ride here with a DH bike, but there was nothing a modern enduro bike can't handle. Definitely a good spot for an e-bike too (also available as a rental option). The guides are really relaxed, friendly and easygoing people. They will help you finding your limits or just enjoy the rides within them. They will adapt to your level and you can definitely improve skills here. In between the rides there's local food available: be it bitoque or bacalhau, it's simply good and affordable! All in all it's a blast riding here and I'm sure I will come back again too. read more

WERIDE is an extremely professional, hospitable, and fun organization. We had the most incredible three days riding in Sintra in July and will be bragging about how lucky we felt to experience Portugal by mountain biking for a long time. We hope to bring friends and family back in the future, so they will believe us when we say that these are hands-down the best trails we have ever ridden. The bike rentals were superb, lunch each day was perfect, and our accommodations were flawless. WERIDE is about mountain biking at its core, but on top of it all, we felt so welcomed by all the people we met along the way, which really created an incredible cultural experience. We had the pleasure of riding with a lot of different guides, who were each so brilliant, friendly, and talented. João was our guide and we had the BEST time with him. He showed us a part of Sintra we would never have been able to explore ourselves without getting terribly lost. My husband found WERIDE after we were searching online for high quality mtb Rental bikes. My husband is a good mountain biker and wanted to make sure we weren't going to rent poor quality. We initially thought we didn't need a guide, but boy were we thankful we went with João!! We would have waisted so much time getting lost, taking the wrong trails, etc. João quickly gagged our skill level and took us down some incredibly fun and challenging trails. After 3 hours of straight biking, my husband who typically can go longer was beat. João really gagged our skill level well and matched it with challenging terrain. We had the pleasure of riding with Pedro in Sintra and Luis in Algarve and both experiences made our trip! The guides were able to modify the routes based on our individual abilities (my boyfriend is a stronger rider) and customize the routes so we both were challenged but safe. Pedro did a great job of prefacing the trail ahead and calling out specifics before we rode them. Luis was great in supporting and detailing the route - coast along the way which made the day so much fun! We got to see the coast while capturing our trip with photo opps along the way. Both guides were very professional and such good riders. The best we have ever seen!! I was riding with João, Renato and David. They showed me the trails in Sintra but it felt more like riding with your bike buddies than a guided tour. We were chatting the whole time, the trails were more than great and after a while we even decided to shuttle, which was even more fun on the downhills. David didn't hesitate to lend me his glasses since mine were to dark. After the ride Renato even came back to bring us some chorizo sandwiches and a couple of beers! Altogether the most pleasant guided tour I ever took, the guys really know their work and especially how to make you feel not like a customer but more like a friend. First, let me say, mountain bike riding in Portugal is incredible. Second, there is no better company to guide you there than Weride! I have ridden in the Dolomites, New Zealand, Whistler, and Moab and I will tell you the riding in Portugal meets or exceeds all those areas. It also boasts a huge variety of terrain. Most of the trails you will ride have been lovingly maintained and improved by the team of Weride, who know every inch of the trails. Hugo and Duarte were our guides throughout the trip and they took care of every detail. We also enjoyed incredible lunches and dinners at various local restaurants. Honestly, while Hugo and Duarte catered to us like fancy clientele the treated us more like longtime friends. This company is simply the best. read more

We booked our trip to Algarve at short notice, but WERIDE and especially our guide Luis Pedro organised everything perfectly. Luis knows all the good trails in the area (he maintains and builds many of them himself!) and provides great tips for your riding. Whether you prefer technical or flowy trails, Luis will put together a program that suits everyone. I also loved the places he chose for lunch, local restaurants with typical food. Luis is not only a proficient rider, great guide and fun guy but also knows a lot about the area, its history, nature etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my rides with WERIDE and can recommend them very much! read more

This was probably the best part of our trip to Portugal. João and Pedro were so nice, the trails were incredible and the views we saw were unforgettable. We did a day ride in the hills of Sinatra that finished down by the beach. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and knew every single jump and corner on the trail. Despite our group ranging from a pro downhiller to an intermedtiate XC rider, they made sure we all had fun on the same trails. Also, when I got a double flat, they also fixed it happily while I hiked around to check out the jumps. If I could pick more than 5 stars I would. read more

I contacted WeRide last minute during a family vacation. I was set up on a solo ride with Duarte. We rode in Sintra. Duarte seemed to cater the riding to my preferences. Lunch was at a local bicycle themed cafe that we rode to. We rode a wide variety of trails from flowy to steep and technical. The rental Transition Patrol was in good shape and the time was taken to set it up to my preferences. Duarte is a great rider, guide, and motivator when my legs were tired. The price is very reasonable and I would do it again. I have no complaints, except my legs are tired! What a perfect day! read more

What an awesome experience!! WeRide exceeded all of my expectations. Initially they were booked full on my day but they brought in an extra guide so they could accommodate me which was totally unexpected! The ride was amazing! The guide was very good (Duarte). He picked a number of trails with varying terrain that were perfectly suited to my riding level. The trails were some of the best I've ridden! We spent 5 great riding days with the WE ride team in Sintra and Lousa. The scenery was breathtaking, the rides were tailored to our riding level and the coaches did not only ride with us, but taught us a lot about the culture and land as well. WE ride is extremely organized, reliable and safety was always first on their mind. Their equipment is new and very well maintained. We were amazed about the skill levels of the WE ride coaches. We rode in Sintra Park with João and we enjoyed the day a lot. The park was 30-minute drive away from the city and he showed us beautiful places and views. The trails were easy, and matched my amateur level. The e-bikes were completely new and very good. We had lunch at a local restaurant for bikers, which had an offer of tasty dishes with fresh products from the local market. João was a great person and guide to spend a day riding in the mountains. Our day of riding really surpassed all expectations and it was all thanks to Jose. It was such a fun day and he was able to balance things between me and my friend so we had an amazing day with our different riding levels. I'm going to start with the staff here : Luis is a great person to deal with, ride and have a talk, always a pleasure,top bloke. We rode the Monchique hills, dusty steep single track trails as i asked for. Bikes are like brand new you can barely see any sign of wear on them, really loved the Transition Patrol i used.Don't be afraid of crashing, Luis has the first aid kit and you can carry on with riding. The company I work for flew us all out to Lisbon for our annual meeting. During our free afternoon I organised a ride out with 12 others using the guys from WERIDE. We had 2 groups riding in Sintra, road and MTB. Hugo was very helpful during the organising process. Then the actual ride was amazing taking in some great trails in Serra Sintra. Had a time of my life , Jose was extremely enthusiastic , knew the trails well and the area of Lisbon perfectly , it's just perfect activity for someone who's never been to Lisbon and wants to experience the City at its fullest. Had such a fun day riding with Duarte. He was a great guide who took me out on a epic days riding. The trails were dry and dusty but still lots of fun. Great mix of trails that had all sorts - flow, rock gardens, steep sections etc. Stopped at a little local place for lunch and it was delicious. I enjoyed every minute of the day. Sintra is a great spot and WE ride are highly recommended! read more
