OMG!!! they were AMAZING!!! Melted in your mouth! (package of 6 for $6) and Maple Syrup and Maple Butter! ($15) Everyone is really nice here and it feels good to spend your tourist dollar directly with the sellers instead of a Walmart! Also, the Market is centrally located near the river! All of Niagara's finest farmed products on out and on display. The Harvest Barn is a great alternative to fast food lunchtime ventures. The food tastes great and you feel healthy after eating - what a concept! The Harvest Barn also serves as a great alternative to the supersized Mega-grocery stores which are all too commonly found in suburban cities across North America (which also tend to import their produce from all over instead of fresh, locally grown food). Outside they have picnic tables if you feel like enjoying the sunshine, and also a small kids play area (ie. small wooden train) which is great for distracting the little rascals or hyperactive adults. They also have Fruit Baskets, Deli Trays, and Sandwich Platters. I've never had the pleasure of having any, but I wouldn't hesitate in ordering seeing as everything else I've tried has been pretty fantastic. The bottom line, I highly recommend the Harvest Barn because it's healthy, locally grown food and they take pride in the quality of service that they provide (and it shows).

Natalie's Tamales (Instagram natalies_tamles). Met her at an Yelp event and fell in love with the tamales and sauces. Having southern roots been hard to find a good tamale, but Natalie has nailed it. The pork and chicken tamales are delicious! Like I said the weather was not the best, but I was still surprised at how many vendors were there. Ranging from fresh sausage, fruits, vegetables, sweets, cheeses and wine and alcohol. I met a chef, Chef Scott Bernard. (Instagram goodneighborflavor) He has a stand with balavka, original and brown sugar cinnamon. They both were tasty, the brown sugar cinnamon was my favorite. He was very friendly. He told me he does catering, and four course private dinners, as well as opening a Bistro in Cheektowaga coming soon. I love going and meeting new vendors. I will definitely have to try this market in the summer, where I am sure will have way more vendors. Shop local!

When we drove by and noticed it was a local spot we knew we wanted to stop in! We stopped in on a Wednesday morning. It's such a nice and clean market! Everything is displayed so beautifully. Aside from fresh fruit, vegetables and baked foods that sell honey, some small gifts, maple syrup, etc. We picked up some strawberries, cookies and muffins. The cookies are delicious! I just popped by on Wednesday and there were 8 or 9 farmers with delicious, fresh produce! Hooray! I believe the market goes Mon, Wed, and Fridays from 9:00-noon but don't quote me. What could give the market a 5th star? More vendors that compliment the farmers (like bakers), consistency (apparently you never know who will be there), and engaging and drawing from the neighborhood directly surrounding the City Market (ok - to be fair this is a bigger undertaking then they could do alone). All in all, I'm a fan!
