Cherry picking season has started and it's a good opportunity to go to cherry orchards and enjoy some time with your family, especially little ones. We arrived here early in the morning and the parking lot was half full and we bought our baskets (they only accept debit or cash) and went inside the orchard. There were many cherry trees that were perfect height for kids and adults, with different sizes of cherries on them. We spent almost 2 hours and since we were planning to pick both sweet cherries and sour cherries, we went to one of the staff and she redirected us to another orchard of theirs to pick the sour cherries. It was around 9:30-10 when we went to the other orchard and all the parking lots were full and there was a huge lineup for cars in both orchards to get in and big lineups to buy baskets and get inside the orchard. So, I suggest going in early in the morning. They have less sour cherry trees available and you need to spot them between sweet cherry trees and they're as delicious as the sweet cherries. They have very friendly and helpful staff that adds to the fun of picking your own cherries. read more

We've been coming to Cherry Avenue Farms since we were young. It would be a fun cousins day out and our families would just load up on delicious fresh cherries! It's so much fun and despite the large crowds, you're not really too crowded once you get into the cherry trees section. This farm has been up and running for over 220 years and it's amazing to see the family continues to do well and offer a place for Pick Your Own on a variety of fresh produce. I think it was $5 admission for adults and that amount will be deduced from your fruit basket if you pick anything. Typically, we pick a whole giant ton of cherries to gift to friends (and of course eat for ourselves). Staff here are great and everything is made easily accessible. If I had one little advise, it would be to offer more step stools and maybe guide on how to use. There were only 5 step stools in a very very large space and this one family hogged them all to just sit on. All the good cherries were up top and way out of reach, unless we did some climbing. I loved PYO farms as a kid and bring friends / plan family summer outings to these types of farms. It's just so nice to be outside away from technology and traffic. Love it here! Came here for some classic pick your own peaches. their peaches are juicy but we came hete a little late (early Sept) and lots of the bigger fruits were all gone. The trick is go to the back where no one is lol. Overall fun family bonding time with all you can 'sample' peaches. read more

I came here second weekend of September. Only thing left is peach, plum, and nectarine. They give you a box and they have wagon shuttle available taking you to different sites. When I was there, they weight the box after you came back and it's $1.25 per lb. What a steal! Their peach is very juicy and sweet! Love it! This orchard is really beautiful and huge, compared to other ones I've been to around GTA. I am not sure if it is organic. I assume it is not. Someone please confirm and I'll update my review! Overall it is a great place to bring your kids or just a stop by before you go to outlet and casino lol Tawse Winery is just down the load. They have best organic wine in the region. It's very crowded on the weekend when the cherries are in season, so plan on coming early (or very late)! There are lots of different entrances in many different locations (both sides of the road!) so if you're planning to meet up with a friend, make sure you co-ordinate long in advance! You could go cherry picking and never meet up. A free tractor ride can take you deep into the farm too. Fortunately the cherry trees are low enough that you will usually feel secluded from the world at large. There were lots of great cherries, especially if you're a taller person and can reach higher into the branches. Boxes are provided at the front if you didn't bring your own containers. Each adult pays $5 upon entry ($3 for child) and this amount is deducted when you pay for your picked cherries when you leave. The price for cherries in 2016 was $2.25/lb so make sure each adult comes out with at least 2.2 lbs / 1kg! There are no wild Pokemon, Pokestops nor Pokemon gyms in the area, but you'll probably make some good progress hatching Pokemon eggs! read more

Omg! I love this farm! They have thousand of cherry trees. They're all sweet cherry. Specially we found the rainier Cherry there, they're are big, juicy and sweet! My kids had a lot of fun picking the cherries. Also they have the tractor that take people go around the farm. You have to pay for the admission at the front, adult is $5, kid $3. But if you pick enough cherries to cover the minimum cost then they will give you back the admission fee. Which is fair enough, I think it's very reasonable. This is my favorite pick your own farm. We come yearly for the cherries and uts always a great time. Pretty good prices as well. You usually pay an admission fee which is your minimum purchase. To keep people from jus going in to eat fruits all day. Which i totally understand. Sometimes i go you see people havjng full blown picnics under the trees and just snacking away on the fruits. We will be back in Aug for peaches and necterines. Cant wait!!! read more

Our new favourite orchard! Made two visits this summer. The first was early July, during cherry season. I swear, we worked on less than a dozen trees over 20 minutes and couldn't afford to pick anymore! Second visit was mid-August for peaches. I was a bit surprised by how hard they were but when they ripened a week or so later, they were amazing. Parking is limited here, so it's tough when it gets busy. The family here is wonderfully friendly though. read more

Went there with two toddlers, they loved the wagon ride into the peach farm. There are ladders and step-stools for the kids to step up to reach the peaches. Staff are friendly and very helpful when they see me with two toddlers. There's a shaded picnic area near the parking lot and a wash sink to clean peaches. Overall people kept the place clean when we were there. read more

The place is very nice and organized. But the practice they follow is not right, they keep sending customers to collect fruits while they knew there are nothing left on the trees. They take money in advance per person and they return nothing to you if you got nothing. I had to complain at the end but nothing happened. The person claims to be the manager and he told me this is the rule, they don't return money and was very rude and unprofessional.
