The waiters don't speak perfect English but I was accommodated nicely by them. The ambience is nice and quiet, perfect for a quiet dinner. I ordered the ribs and the apfelstrudel. I must say the pork ribs are cooked differently from what I'm used to but it was tasty but a bit salty. The apfelstrudel I fell in love with it and I would want to eat it over and over again. I love how perfect the vanilla custard was and how it combines perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and strudel. Highly recommended for everyone to try the apfelstrudel. read more

I went by today to make a take out order. I don't believe I can remember the last time I was treated so coldly for no reason. Even though it is very convenient for us....I will take the time to drive somewhere else where I, as a paying customer, get treated with kindness and respect. I would really recommend you go somewhere else especially if you are are "foreigner" (non-East-German) you will not be treated as a welcome guest here....hard, but I have had multiple bad experiences here....three strikes and you're out....and you guys are out. Sorry Wernesgruener just one star for your terrible service. To be fair...they have, for the most part, a good restaurant atmosphere and the food is great for the price.....Service is just as important to my family as the food though! Send your waiters to customer service school...and you might get more stars from your customers in the future....I'm serious! read more

Great place for a foreigner like myself to eat German food! The waiters were very nice and I had no problem just only being able to use English. Had smoked potato soup and smoked pork knuckle (It was huge) and they were great. I was staying in the hotel near by and I needed to go to bed early to catch the early train next day, so I wanted to have dinner in the area instead of the city center. I made a right decision to end my stay in Germany with an authentic food! read more

Finding a pleasant bar in this part of Neukölln can be a challenge. The hipster mile of endless…read morebars stops a few blocks north of Poropati and if you find yourself in this part of town longing for a few beers with friends without a long walk - this is your perfect choice. The place has an admittedly strange vibe and is definitely a dive bar. In terms of music, the bar plays whatever the bartender/anyone-who-stands-behind-the-bar feels like playing, so it can be the weirdest of combinations. I've never seen the bar packed - it's usually filled with just a few people chatting, drinking beers and playing board games. That's right - the bar has a wide assortment of board games you can choose from. My friends and I opted for an unexpectedly exciting round of Jenga, which went on for much longer than expected and attracted the attention of most people at the bar. The bartender was a super relaxed, friendly and welcoming who made us feel right at home. As a bonus, the place has PacMan, Darts and foosball for entertainment.

Mein Lieblingslokal in Karlshorst. Nachteil: Kinder finden nix auf der Karte. Anreise mir S-/U-Bahn und dann Straßenbahn direkt vor der Haustür (Marksburgstraße). Mit Auto zwei Mal um den Block findet sich höchstwahrscheinlich auch etwas. Besser auf der gegenüber liegenden Seite suchen; geht schneller. Nach Renovierung 2010 jetzt echt schöne Räume. Karte mit guter deutscher Hausmannskost; z.T. selbst Geräuchertes Haxe, Spare-Ribs (jaaa Rippchen). Hervorzuheben: Kleiner Bierquerschnitt durch Europa: Guiness bis Pilsner Urquell via Wernesgrün. Fr + Sa rappelvoll, trotzdem immer freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Reklamation wurde souverän behoben (wenn auch ein Entschuldigung fehlte). Preise etwas weiter oben angesiedelt, Steak dafür manchmal etwas kleiner; Rest anstandslos. read more

Familienumzug nach Karlshorst und dann die Lokalitäten testen. Das Wernesgrüner wurde uns schon von Freunden empfohlen, also wollten wir es auch testen. Der erste Eindruck: rustikal mit Charme, immer gut besetzt und freundlicher Service. Die Karte liest sich hervorragend, die Bierauswahl vom Fass ist super. Also durch die Karte gelesen und bestellt inzwischen bereits zum dritten Mal. Und was soll ich sagen? Es ist immer hervorragend! Leicht geräucherte Forelle ein Traum. Und bei solchen Klassikern wie Kartoffeln mit Quark und Leinöl schmeckt man tatsächlich die hochwertigen Zutaten. Wir sind auch nach dem dritten Besuch noch sehr begeistert und werden auch in Zukunft den Feierabend im Wernesgrüner genießen! read more

Seit Jahrzehnten geht die Familie hier ein und aus egal ob auf ein Bier oder ein Steak au Four. Wir wurden noch nie enttäuscht! Die Bedienung ist äußerst professionell und freundlich. Stammgäste werden wiedererkannt und herzlich empfangen. Die Renovierung und die Erneuerung der Speisekarte vor ein paar Jahren haben das Lokal noch einmal deutlich aufgewertet, jedoch (zum Glück!) den rustikalen, urigen Stil erhalten. Die Preise sind eindeutig angemessen, das Essen schmeckt immer. Reservierungen sind jedoch insbesondere am Wochenende zu empfehlen. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierher, das wird sich so schnell nicht ändern. read more

Sehr professionelle und freundliche Bewirtung. Die Gerichte sind allesamt von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Die etwas höheren Preise sind deshalb auch angemessen. Mit Abstand das beste Restaurant in Karlshorst! read more

Schon zu Studentenzeiten waren wir öfters hier und treffen uns auch jetzt noch regelmäßig hier. Essen ist immer wieder ein Traum. Kommen gerne hier her. Bedienung ist immer freundlich und sehr kompetent. read more
