Mike Barber was recommended to us by my partner's family - he actually helped four other family members buy their houses and they were all very happy with him. Mike was incredibly patient with my partner and I, taking us out for hours every weekend, answering all our questions, dealing with how vague and unsure we were about what we wanted (our list of what we wanted changed practically daily!), our hemming and hawing over houses we were interested in, and more. He always offered to drive us (saved a lot on gas!), and we had a great time chatting to him about everything from sports, to food, to politics. He always had great advice on each house we looked at, educated us on what to look for, and once we were ready to make an offer he had great connections in the various industries (inspection, financing, etc) - people that had been doing it a long time and really knew what they were doing. He never pressured us, and made sure we always felt we could use anybody, and would wait for us to ask him for a recommendation. The only pressure I ever felt from him was him making sure we _really_ wanted a house. He always said, it has to feel right! He also was amazing at getting us the lowest possible deal on a house. The front door is broken and has never really been able to lock--it's almost falling out. The door frame was clearly kicked in before I ever moved in, and the lock has fallen out multiple times (which I had to replace myself). At this point, the door has fallen off its hinges entirely, and I cannot lock it. The garage door doesn't insulate, the front door doesn't insulate, and there's black mold in the house. When I first moved in, one of the heaters wasn't working, and it still hasn't been replaced. Requests to Cindy, the so-called property manager, have been ignored. She even told me to my face, "Well, you couldn't find anywhere else to live, so that's what you get." Instead of addressing any of these issues, she comes around every couple of months to snoop and "inspect" but never fixes a single thing. Because of the poor insulation, frogs have gotten inside the house. The stove looks like it's from 1960 and barely works. And when I put in maintenance requests, I was contacted not by a real contractor, but by the homeowner's personal handyman. When I asked if he was certified, he admitted he wasn't--he's just "a guy." So essentially, they're sending random people to do repairs instead of licensed professionals. Honestly, I might as well just call my neighbor over to fix this stuff myself. This agency will not take care of anything, but they are quick to take your rent money and show up to be nosy. If you're thinking about renting from them--don't.

After another 2 months, my condo was still vacant; I had lost faith in them months before! The first day he listed the property, with correct information re: loans/financing, we had 3 showings and an offer which I accepted less than 48 hours afterwords! The incredibly frustrating experience with this company included lack of communication, basic knowledge, motivation & unprofessional interactions. I was mortified when I saw the pictures used to re-list my condo! I was going to work with a different company but agreed to stay after they reduced their commission, completed basic maintenance, took new pictures for a new listing. They invested no more time or effort to sell the property! Initially, I had no issues with my rental....unfortunately , the nightmare began when I trusted them to sell my condo! I do not recommend this company & would never want anyone to go through the same nightmare scenario that I did!
