Having moved to Adelaide from Melbourne in 2011 one of the hardest things I found about moving to a…read morenew town was loosing a long list of tried and tested to places to eat which I had in Melbourne. That's not suggesting Melbourne food is better then Adelaide rather I had no idea where the best spots are in my new home town. Pizza was a category that I tried and tried many a places but never found the right fit. Before Speranza opened I was going to Pedros around the corner from this place which is ok but not great (6/10). Back on Speranza The wood fire pizzas are great and staff very friendly. Pricing is at the high end but it's genuine wood fire pizza so you need to expect that. I highly recommend the belissima and "the lot" (supreme). I would personally stay away from chicken as I found the chicken breast to be dry however please don't let this put you off this great little place. The shop itself does have some basic seating however I would recommend it is better suited to take away. Overall I rate 5 stars (9/10) over 20 odd visits.

In terms of product, hit and miss. I really didn't like the tandoori chicken pizza, though my…read morepartner didn't mind the flavour. I always prefer seeing sliced or shredded chicken on a pizza, rather than chicken cubes (probably the result of working for a takeaway pizza franchise during my teenage years). The pizza bases were quite thick the first time we purchased from this place but much thinner last time. They don't do your standard garlic bread (ie garlic buttered baguette), which disappointed a couple of my friends. When we picked up our pizzas and went to pay by credit card we were asked to pay with cash and had to walk to the ATM (their credit card facilities weren't down - they just wanted cash payment). Not bad but definitely room for improvement.

Vegan Ham and Pineapple pizza, need I say more?…read more NOT cheap and far away from many places, but truly a delight. I work to patron businesses that cater to Vegans as a source or principle, but Godzilla is so good I don't a need a reason to stop by. The people who work here are always lovely, the pizzas are always hot and delicious and they sometimes have vegan parm sprinkle for sale!

We recently bought a unit and after a big day of moving we opted for something easy to eat for dinner and decided to give them a go. I was really pleased with the great service when phoning through my pick up order, They suggested what size and we went with a family (2-3 people) and although tonight we weren't incredibly hungry, I could imagine on another night we could have gone a size up. The 'Sicilian' was fresh and tasty, with olives, mushrooms and salami. The base was fresh and the toppings went great together and was ready in 15 minutes on a Saturday night. We decided to make sure the first go wasn't a fluke and our second attempt was just as successful. We ordered a BBQ chicken and 'The Pizza' and both were winners. The bbq sauce wasn't too overpowering which I find too commonly with BBQ chicken and 'The Pizza' had a nice kick with chilli flakes. I would highly recommend Gorilla Pizza, they seem to be open reasonable hours and also cater to the Gluten Free and Vegan market. Maybe a bit pricier than your bog standard pizza place but totally worth it!
