When she said that I just looked at her but I was telling myself that everything out of her ass is shitty and has e.coli. My education is not shitty. She knew education in this university was shitty. No instructors really teach. 10 weeks and blended. To me this school prepares me to become a writer not a nurse. I witnessed one of my instructors gave the test questions to his favorite students that he knew from miami dade college. With the amount of money that I paid, I was expecting top notch respect and education but unfortunately reality was the most unethical instructors. I told one of my instructors that she is not good in math but I brought up her kids as an example and school kicked me out telling me that I told her she is a bad mom. Her kids were crying in my online review. I was kicked out for the most stupid reason and stuck with debt. You should be a fool going to this school. My GPA was 3.74 and I had no friend from other classes to give me the test questions. To be successful in this university you have to be a fool. Everyone is lost and no-one follows the syllabus. Please go to a school that is fair with your money and time. Most students in success story work for WCU or get an scholarship. I took fundamental and there was pharmacology questions in my test. Since no one reads they don't know what questions belong to which class. Fundamental instructors don't teach expecting that we are going to learn in physical assessment and physical assessment instructor doesn't teach thinking that we already learned in fundamental. WCU students or graduates don't write negative reviews because they graduate from there. They have microphones and cameras all over the campus. When they dismissed a student, she/he is not able to step back in the university. With their high security, still someone stole one of the classroom projectors and they didn't notice. Thieves come to the university as a delivery man. Another time there was a huge fight because someone was dating someone else's wife. The video of the fight was on YouTube but was deleted shortly. This university has a way of paying off negative reviews online. When I signed up there was no reviews online but now you should be a fool to attend west coast university miami. All instructors think that if we want lecture they can take it out of their Ass. No one really teach and tests don't reflect classroom materials. I had a hard time deciding where I wanted to attend nursing school and once I found West Coast University Miami campus, I knew that was where I was meant to go and I began classes in August. I was nervous at first reading reviews about them not accepting prior credits from other schools. However, I have attended two different universities and all of my credits were accepted which were right around 40 credits and I only had a few prerequisites left to take! Right from the start, all of the staff was outstanding. One woman I would like to mention in particular was Yeny Jimenez in admissions. She made what had been such a difficult process at any other school so easy for me. She was so responsive to my millions of emails and phone calls and even made time to come in on her day off to give me a personal tour when I flew to Miami. She made the choice to move across country and come to this school a given for me. The day I came in for the orientation (which I didn't think I was going to make) she noticed me right as I got off the elevator and yelled my name and gave me a hug. It was the warmest welcome to a new city and a new school. Additionally, staff in all departments especially my professors have been so knowledgeable and helpful. They really help you to feel involved and confident in the information being taught. This University makes attending school and keeping up with everything so easy. All of the professors will contact you when things are missing and to ensure you know when things are due. The school also makes sure to call you and message you to make sure you are keeping up with attendance, school work, payments, etc. It is the little extra step that most universities don't take to ensure your success. Going through the process of getting into a new school can be long and challenging for people and I can promise that this school is worth it and the staff will do everything to help you in your process. I truly cannot say enough good things about my time so far here at this university but I am proud to be apart of it and to eventually graduate as a new nurse. read more

I recently graduated back in June 2021. I was at another university when one of my friends spoke to me about WCU in Miami. At the time i was living in WPB, which is about 1.5 hrs away with traffic. I decided to take the risk and travel to Miami for Nursing school because I wanted to ensure that I received the best education possible. I was expecting a great education but what I wasn't expecting, was to have the amount of resources and support from the staff. If i could give a million stars to them, I would. Quitting nursing school went through my mind a ton of times and thanks to student services, I never quit. I remember running to Adiela Naranjo a million times to vent and talk to her about everything. She always took the time to hear me out and even helped me get through plenty of hurdles during Nursing school. Every time I left her office, i felt as if i could conquer the world. NO LIE! Honestly, she represents everything WCU is and what other schools should be. Another department i must boast about is the career services department. Georgetta and Farrah are amazing. When I was close to graduation, they helped me with formatting my resume, cover letter, and finding a job. I think one of the biggest Flaws of most schools is that they forget about you after you graduate. NOT WCU student services staff and career services department. They really push the students to reach their full potential. Thank you ADIELA and student services department for being here and pushing me to be the best version of myself. I want to take a moment to recognize Diana Martinez, because her impact on my journey at West Coast University goes far beyond her title as a Student Advisor. From the very beginning of my re-entry and academic appeal process, Diana was consistent, supportive, and always communicative. She stayed connected with me every step of the way, all the way through my exit exam, and never once made me feel like I was just another case or number. Diana has been beyond amazing. Her role as a Student Advisor honestly feels too small for the level of dedication, compassion, and leadership she brings. She has so much more potential, and it truly feels like WCU is not allowing her the growth she deserves. There is a reason students speak so highly of her even though she is extremely busy, it's because she is always helping someone. She is hands-down the best when it comes to re-entry support. I also want to express my appreciation to Monica Jurysta for her guidance and support along the way. Both Diana and Monica played a huge role in keeping me motivated when I felt like giving up. I do want to be honest and mention that as a student who requires special accommodations, I did not feel supported by the Director of Student Services. I often felt unheard, and I observed interactions that felt dismissive toward staff in front of students, which was disappointing. That said, I am incredibly grateful to West Coast University overall, because during one of the hardest points in my academic journey, Diana truly held my hand and guided me through. Without her support, encouragement, and belief in me, I don't know if I would have made it through. Because of her... I passed my NCLEX. This is the worst school a person could go to the fundamental professor failed me ,after I spoke to her in person on 07/22/2024 about my assignment prior to me being in the hospital she assured me she would grade my paper if I turned it in before the week is over on 07/28/2024 that is unbelievable you can't trust your teacher to keep her word. she purposely fail her students if my assignment was graded I would've pass the class with a 78.35 because she didn't I failed the class for 1 point having a 75.36. I guess this is how the professors are trained to keep the school rich and the students struggling to pay their bills while in nursing school. And the dean Dr. Raquel Pastrana is undercover rude she's no help, all she keep telling me is she can't put no grades in , and she would make comments about my GPA or what she thinks I did wrong my quizzes throughout the term. To deviate the subject that her employee purposely faile me, and she stall the whole process in order to make it go away I'm so sorry I can't let it go because I wonder how many students have professors at this University failed due to their abuse of power. Professor Morales has numerous complaints and no one is doing nothing to help the students. West Coast University doesn't provide any help to the students I been dealing with this for 7 days now Please don't trust them I reach out to the dean's boss Mrs. Sharon she replied once saying the dean will handle it I emailed her saying it's being handle and never heard from her. My advisor Richard Christie assisted me from the initial stage through to the start of my nursing career. Richard is awesome, very patient, encouraging, and will help you to his best to start your nursing career. Kaylah, who is now my student advisor, will be with me until I graduate. Kaylah Young is very helpful and helps me to stay on top of everything necessary, and very polite as well. Not to mention Maria Box, who is the Dean, she is phenomenal. Ms. Box is very understanding, experienced, and very knowledgeable in her role as a Dean. She communicates very well, I am so impressed with her, she makes accommodations for her students, she listens and helps in every possible way, she keeps students informed. I attended other nursing schools before West Coast University, and none compared to West Coast. This school will accommodate you with any work schedule you have, so you can attend school; they will make it happen and show you that they care about you. Ms. Box fosters a positive and supportive school environment and makes it about us the students, she even comes to our class to give a little lecture on how important it is to be successful in our career path, she uses strategies by having us watch a video, so we can see that despite the challenges we may come across, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I want to thank West Coast University for taking a chance on me. When I was scrambling looking for any nursing program to accept me after previously failing a prerequisite class that was non-negotiable at other universities, WCU just wanted the transcripts of those classes passed. It's an expensive university however most are around the same price give or take. The university offers tutoring for free, professors follow up with you (and care about how you're doing) and once you've finished the program, advisors reach out to you to help you find career opportunities. Kaylah Young has helped me so much on my journey from sending my resume to various hospitals applied to, to helping me fill out my resume and ask me how I am throughout the process. Thank you so much Kaylah!! Overall, if I could choose to go to west coast again I would. It was a hard program so you definitely need to study and become organized. It's also very fast paced but at the end of the day when it's all done you have your bachelors degree!! (Or associates if that's what you would like to pursue) Nursing school was not easy but this school really helps prepare you for your nclex and i believe the majority of my graduating class passed the nclex the first try (Next generation nclex). I felt very well prepared after this program and it was definitely doable with the right resources offered and being disciplined on my own part. I recommend WCU to anyone who wants to pursue a nursing degree and is willing to put in the work to achieve it. read more

Out of all the schools I have attended this school is by far the best of the best. I was originally in an ADN program and decided to change to a BSN program, which ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made. The family atmosphere along with the events they schedule for student activities and interaction is superb and I loved how they were very inclusive for the night students; therefore, although a person was on nights they were able to have the same experience as a day student. They are available and willing to help from day 1, the program is tough but they do not hang you out to dry or set you up for failure. I would recommend this school and their services to anyone and everyone looking for a reputable nursing program, after taking the NCLEX I felt over prepared. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to career services, Georgeta R. is definitely for the students and she will stop at nothing to ensure you have the tools needed to be successful pre and post graduation. I had to reach out on a holiday for an upcoming interview and she dropped what she was doing to ensure that I was prepared and ready, I have secured my dream job and I owe her everything for that preparation and encouragement. I was told after my pinning ceremony and after speaking with career services that I can contact them at any time and they will be right there to render assistance. West Coast University is an excellent school for nursing where you get more than just your degree and ability to pass the NCLEX. Attending West Coast was my second bachelors degree where I had previously gone to the University of Miami when Donna Shalala was dean. I have to say my experience at West Coast is amazing and it's in present tense because having graduated I am still using them as a resource. It's a small, intimate environment where the staff, professors, and all cohorts get to know each other. They push for professionalism and team work providing career services, student services, and more such as PAL tutors. I can honestly say that I know everyone there, even Dean Claudette Spalding whom helped me once or twice. There are few colleges and universities that provide the one on one that West Coast provides. In a nutshell, I graduated after being diagnosed with breast cancer where everyone helped support me to push foward. I consider myself lucky to be there "right place, at the right time". I took my NCLEX under chemo treatment because they provided me the education and confidence despite all odds. Career Services, Georgetta and Farrah, both prepared me for interviews for various hospitals and I received offers. I am hired and ready to advance. I attend West Coast University (Miami Campus) and am in the middle of completing my BSN. I have reviewed some reviews and could not disagree more with the negative ones. One specific review claims that the institution does not accept credits from prior schools. This is untrue. I personally was able to transfer 12 classes (approximately 32 credits) and was able to avoid having to take any prerequisites that I had already taken previously. Additionally, the staff at WCU are absolutely outstanding. I have always been helped in a timely manner when needed. The staff and educators are always willing to be of service whenever you ask. I have yet to have a professor that I do not like and they are all very well educated in their field. In the few prerequisite classes that I did have to take, the professors have always managed to relate the class to the medical, in my case nursing, field. Keeping up with classes is made easy as there is a certain schedule to be followed. I looked into many schools while looking to transfer and earn my Bachelor's degree. I could not be happier in choosing West Coast University to earn my degree. From day one, I have felt so involved and in the know about every bit of information that pertained to me. Is the West Coast difficult or expensive? Yes, it is! It is not going to be easy, it will be difficult and frustrating. I am honest, but it's the BEST Nursing School. They have a lot of resources that can help you if you don't understand the content. They have PAL Tutoring, Tutor.com (that works 24/7), and Nclex Tutoring, and professors are available all the time. They prepare you to be a good nurse. They said all the time: ''Do not memorize, you need to learn how to think, how to act when you have a situation in the real world. All the staff is willing to help but I want to give a special Thank you to DIANA MARTINEZ. She is my Academic Advisor, and she is WONDERFUL. She always has been there for any situation. She is not only there if you have any issues or if you need any documents or something. She is with you always, she is happy when you pass an exam and she will be sad when you fail it. Is this school expensive? Yes, absolutely. However, you get what you pay for. I graduated from WCU in October 2018 and passed my NCLEX on the first try in December 2018. The faculty, the staff, Career Services they are all great and they want to see you succeed. I had attended MDC nursing school and failed the HESI with only one semester left. They offered me no help or direction as to what to do next and how to study to be able to succeed and pass the HESI. This was the completely opposite in WCU. I ended up graduating top of my class and everyone made sure we were ready to take and pass the NCLEX. The ATI Greenlight program is a saving grace in helping you study for your boards. I was also able to participate in the Global Public Health program where the school chose 3 students from each cohort to an all expense paid mission trip. I got to go to Panama and work alongside the Panamanian nurses and learn more about the culture and the difficulties they face. It was such an eye opening experience.
