I wanted to update for anyone else who has an iggy from Donna and may be having health issues. My…read moresweet girl passed away last August 2022 very suddenly. She declined RAPIDLY overnight for seemingly no reason. Our wonderful vet did all they could to try and save her but she was past saving (nearly comatose when we got her to the vet). After they ran her bloodwork, they said it looked like she had Addison's disease and was in crisis. This disease fits Nova's lifelong issues... Loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness (her legs would sometimes give out when walking in hot weather), alopecia (hair loss), etc. Addison's disease is a GENETIC CONDITION. The most common cause of Addison's is HEREDITARY. If you bought a dog from this awful woman and they have any similar symptoms, PLEASE get them checked for Addison's. It is not a standard test and is a rare condition. It is treatable once diagnosed. I will forever hate myself for not connecting the dots sooner as I lost my girl when she had just turned 12. Please do not buy from Donna. Regal Hounds claims to be new owners as well - THEY'RE NOT. Do not buy.

I rescued a 7 year old stud dog (italian greyhound) from this breeder as I wanted to adopt an older…read moredog, but when I saw him I knew I was rescuing him. He was fully covered in dirt, the tips of his ears were cracking, he was half bald losing his hair and his teeth were in very bad shape. Donna Smith, the breeder, told me this dog had never had a bath in his life. in 7 years. He also has a cough probably because of all the dirt and dust he was living in constantly. When we were there my mom asked if she could see some of her Pinschers because she loves those dogs too, and Donna said we couldn't go back there where they are kept because "they will bark and the neighbours put up with enough already." Even though it was pretty clear it was because she didn't want us to see how bad the dogs live back there. When I got him home and we went to the vet, we were informed he had a cryptorchid which is where one testicle is still in his body; this is bad for several reasons, like it could have a cancer risk and normally if dogs have they say to get them neutered asap and they should not be bred because it can also is hereditary and can be passed on. I then told Donna what the vet said and that he shouldn't have been bred in the first place, and she said "the vet doesn't know sh*t" so.... apparently she thinks she knows more than vets. Donna Smith needs to be stopped and is not a good breeder, all she cares about is money. She is also taking care of so many dogs, horses, and rabbits alone and should not have that many animals because they're probably all getting neglected.
