My pup was done in less than 2 hrs and he looked like it when picking up. When paying was not asked about the 10% discount for first time clients. I missed out on that. My dog was left unsupervised and was attacked by a group of other dogs. I had to pick her up from the vet with several stitches and open wounds... And the owner didn't offer a penny towards her $1300 vet bills. I will never risk leaving by dog at a daycare who doesn't take safety seriously again. read more

My dog was injured at their daycare. I was out of town working and this place was close and convenient to the hotel I was staying at... only reason I was using their service. Not only was my dog bitten, I was not refunded my pass that was purchased from them. Would not recommend to anybody, handled the situation poorly. read more

The previous location was more convenient for us, and I haven't been to the current location yet. It's a big facility, and dogs are separated by size into two groups. Sometimes there are so many dogs at a time, I wonder how they manage them all. Hours are convenient and staff are very friendly. read more

I had been taking my dog to Waggytails for almost a year. The only reason I changed daycares is because my job location changed and it just wasn't convenient. My dog always got so exited when I pulled up to their building and he would almost pull my arm off to get in! When Henry would return home, he was exhausted - sleep for hours! My favorite thing about Waggytails is that they have hours on Saturday. The staff have always been very friendly and kept me updated on his behavior while there. read more

Had my dog groomed in December 2016 from one of their original groomers who had since left the business. My dog was a rescue from a puppy mill and was quite nervous but this groomer was able to work with him with no significant issues. With more confidence we decided to take him in for an initial behavioral assessment with the owner and my dog has been making progress since. We decided to schedule him in for another haircut back in February 2017. Shortly after we dropped him off the groomer (a new lady) complained about our dog being nervous and vicious and was biting. My dog has no teeth so I didn't think the biting could be that bad. However the groomer gave up on him and requested we pick him up immediately. We scheduled another appointment for today and half an hour before showing up the same groomer left us a voicemail saying she is "not prepared" to deal with our vicious dog and refused service. We called to let her know that our dog has made progress since and has been assessed by Waggytails previously. Additionally, we had went to 2 other groomers prior and they had reported that he was an absolute delight. This leads me to believe that their current groomer may be mistreating our dog during the grooming session. I'd also like to point out that she kept referring to my male dog as a "she" when I kept calling my dog a "he." This shows me a lack of attentiveness. To make things worse, during our call, the groomer gave off the vibe of "I don't need your business" and hung up on us before we could finish. Our original recommendation to go to Waggytails came from some friends who had a great experience here. Recently, they have stopped going back to waggytails as they suspect Waggytails is unclean and may have given their dog lice. I'd still go back if the original groomer was there but not with the current one they have now. read more

I had been taking my two little dogs, a purebred Havanese and a Havanese/LasaApso mix, to the same groomer in Spruce Grove their entire lives but she had to close for health reasons so choosing a new groomer was a serious task to me. I spoke with Leah and Dean, the owners of Waggytails and discussed my concerns and they assured me that their groomer was top-notch. I brought my dogs in on a Saturday on July and they were given EXCELLENT care, attention, and grooming. I chatted with the groomer before she began and we discussed her products and methods, she showed me her equipment and we shared information about the dogs. She did their coats, ears and nails, the bill came to only $105 for both dogs. Neither dog was stressed or anxious to leave the premises. read more

I wouldn't bring my dog anywhere else for an overnight stay, highly recommend this place! The staff are really friendly and always remember my dogs name, my dog is always super excited to go. I love how they take pictures and upload them onto their Facebook page so you always get updates on how they're getting on. As well as this I really like that the dogs aren't in small crates, they have the freedom to walk around and sleep wherever they want. I used to bring my dog here for daycare too but unfortunately we moved to a different side of the city, but he loved his days here and he'd be exhausted when I collected him. read more

We took our dog to WaggyTails when we went on holidays. When we came back to pick him up we were told that he was stepped on by a big dog that morning. We have a small Pomeranian. The injury looked worse than just being stepped on so we took him to our vet. The vet said it was not from being stepped on, it looks like a dog bite that was a few days old. The injury was so bad there was blood in his stool, both his sides was bruised black and his belly was blood red. The vet said the blood red belly was from the pressure of the injury that occurred on both his sides. We understand that stuff happens, the problem with this situation was, #1) WaggTails said they never saw or heard anything #2) there was no supervision #3) why was a small Pomeranian in with big dogs #4) they let him suffer until we came to pick him up. It has taken weeks for our dog to get better, the medicine and constant cleaning of the wounds, the crying and yelping when the injuries had to be touched was heart breaking. There are lots of good reputable doggy daycares out there. Please take the time to do your research. We're sure you don't want your furry loved one to have to suffer as ours did. read more

I love this place! They always remember my dogs name, are super accommodating if I need to get my dog to stay overnight on short notice and I love that the dogs are always with people. I could never imagine my dog being stuck in a kennel all day with limited socialization time. Here, they are with dogs and people all day and night. Even sleeping with them sometimes. I also appreciate that they take pictures of the dogs when your away and you can see them in their Facebook posts. Super awesome when you miss your dog on vacation. If I had one criticism it would be that they need a southeast location to counter how far their only location is from my house on the south side. Minimum half hour each way which an hour of commute time for one drop off is a lot. Not close for everyday doggy daycare days. Also having a larger area or limiting the amount of dogs allowed within a certain amount of space. The pictures sometimes look like they are over capacity. read more

I adopted a dog (Holly) from the SPCA - I am her 3rd home. The reasons she was surrendered was because of her energy level. She is a lab x. I am really working hard to make this her forever home. I took a private obedience lesson with the owner of Waggytails - Leah Walsh and was told by the owner that they have the highest staff to dog ratio in the city for doggie daycare. Unfortunately I did not do my research!! My dog is only 1and 1/2 yrs old and she loves to play with other dogs. The reason I was taking her to doggie daycare was for her to burn off some of her energy and learn how to play with other dogs. I dropped her off on Labour Day week-end and after about an hour I received a call from the girl at daycare saying Holly had been in a fight with another dog. This really surprised me because she has never been aggressive with other dogs. I have taken her to the dog park several times. She plays very well with other dogs of all sizes. I was told that she was very excited and she went in to play with another dog and the dog attacked her. I was told the other dog was a pit bull. I had to take Holly to the Vet Ermerg and they wanted $1200. I have a medical background and I suggested some other options to the vet to reduce the bill. She agreed that we could try that and see how she does. Her wounds seem to be healing well however she was very traumatized and stressed by the incident. I have since taken her back to our Vet and he is pleased with her progress. Long story short - I am disgusted with this daycare. The owner new about the incident and didn't call me. I had to contact her. They would not pay for the vet bill because they said Holly started the fight and that I signed a waiver. SHE IS A YOUNG DOG who wanted to play with another dog. I was sending her there to learn how to play with other dogs under supervision. I had to initiate all communications with the owner. The lack of accountability and concern from this daycare may be because this incident is not isolated. It seems to happen frequently. I spoke with Joy who had her Jack Russell attacked by a pit bull about a year ago at this daycare and her dog almost died. She told me the owner had lied about what happened and that a staff member who quit 2 months later phoned her and told her what really happened. She can no longer take her dog around other dogs because he is so aggressive now. Below is the article about her experience. There is clearly something wrong. I understand that dog fights can happen when a group of dogs get together. My concern is that these incidents keep happening at this particular daycare and the lack of concern and accountability by the owners. I have asked what measures have been put in place to prevent this from happening again and have not heard back. I believe I will never find out what really happened that day just as Joy never found out until a staff member contacted her. All I can do now is let other dog owners know about my experience. I wish I had of done more research before I went to this doggie daycare. read more

Our dog got beat up while a stay there. The people that run the place tried to hide it and then said it was only rough play. We had to take him to the vet two times and clean his wounds constantly till healed. They cut us a cheque for vet bills then bounced the cheque. What do you people out there think of that?
