She told me that she had thought she had a stress fracture and was going to have to quit running right at the beginning of marathon season. After a couple of massage sessions with Oksana she was able to make it to every marathon she had planned on. She also managed to hit her time goals to boot. The Art of Healing pain is in the basement of a house in the Dickenfield neighbourhood. It's very clean and comfortable. Oksana is very thorough in her history taking and always seems to be able to get to the cause of your problems. I have been a regular of hers for a while now and I never leave disappointed. In fact I usually leave amazed at how much better I feel. She even manages to find the muscles that you didn't even realize were bothering you but were anyway. While on the massage table she's very careful at making sure you are comfortable and kept decent. She uses a blend of natural oils which leaves your skin soft but not oily. The music is soft and soothing. On top of her magical hands Oksana also has some awesome conversation skills. She know exactly when to talk to keep you distracted from the discomfort and when to leave you in silence to embrace the healing effects of her skill. Seriously I cannot recommend this lady enough. She can perform many style of massage techniques as well as cupping, acupuncture and acupressure and all other kinds of weird and magical arts that just leave you feeling like a million bucks.

I was referred by my GP to deal with acute sciatic pain. Dr. Virecudden saw me very briefly,…read moreordered an MRI and bone scan and provided a prescription for some THC based pain medication. I took only 3 single doses and was completely wired . I called the clinic who advised me that Dr. V. said I should quit taking them but did not offer a substitute so I returned to my GP who set me up with a cocktail of drugs that barely touch the pain. Back to Shields for a follow up. Dr. Loewen came in, gave me a cortisone shot based on MRI findings and sent me home 5 minutes later. No improvement. Two weeks later went back and Dr. Loewen gave another shot directly into the pain centre. No improvement. Back 3 weeks later. Dr. L. Was quite gruff and asked me what I thought he should do. Decided to give me 3 more shots randomly down my hip. Again no improvement. Next was a nerve block, by referral to Indsight Pain Management. Made it worse. Next was the rupture of a synovial cyst at the base of my spine. Temporary small relief. Now heading back for another shot into the cushion along the spine. These procedures done by Insight and horribly painful. Every time I speak to Dr. Loewen he becomes more off hand. "Well by the time anyone reaches 75 they're going to have problems with their spine". As someone else wrote, the front desk people are friendly and every appointment they ask you to fill out pages of information--which the doctors don't appear to read. I'm keeping my appointment, but this may be the last, regardless whether there is success or not.

There's about 4 stalls in front of their building for patient parking. Inside there's a lot of chairs in the waiting room and a TV to keep people entertained. The day I was there, the movie Happy Feet was playing which the children seemed to enjoy. It wasn't busy so the waiting room still had enough chairs for 8 people. The front desk staff are always very nice when answering the phone and in person. There's a place to take off your shoes and put feet covers over top if you like. They are not sticklers to make you take off your shoes unless they are wet and dirty. The patient rooms are spacious and clean making me feel very comfortable. Dr. Chan is always on time for our appointments and she answers my questions and provides me with guidance and medication information. There's always a large patient washroom in the back with a cute bear toilet paper holder. I wouldn't mind coming to this new location again as there's more seating, and it's nice and bright!

After two sessions this week he suggested I get a massage (as I hadn't had one for a "few" years). I had a knot in my lower back that just wouldn't listen to his care. So Wednesday morning I called into their office and got in to see Keziah that afternoon. OH MY GOD!! She was awesome!!! Although Dr Fleck recommended all the massage therapists in his office, I was able to get her in short notice. It was the best deep tissue massage I ever had and she knew exactly how much pressure to apply. Where to apply it and for how long. I was able to dance my way out of the office that afternoon and still moving perfectly today. Because of Keziah I'll be able to golf on Friday with no concerns. So if anyone wants a recommendation for a massage therapist contact Baseline Chiropractic and Wellness Center and asked for Keziah Ragui. And a recommendation for a chiropractor would be Dr. Fleck. Follow up appointments of 30 minutes haven't been as long a wait to get in. The staff on the phone at CURA are friendly and polite. They also give you a reminder call a few days before the appointment. The waiting area has a shoe rack for clients to remove footwear, a water cooler with cups, and magazines. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. Rooms are comfortable and Linda Quinn is a wonderful PT. She is very caring and calming, but also gets to the issue and works on helping to resolve things. I feel comfortable with Linda and appreciate her strategies and documents that she gives me for home exercises. The office is across the street from Sears and there's ample free parking too. This is a great PT office with friendly staff, and excellent service!
