Wasn't the best and wouldn't get again. The peach lavender cocktail with champagne was too sweet so also wouldn't get again. It also didn't have enough of the bubbly-ness of champagne. The shrimp tacos without aioli were really good. Shrimp cooked perfectly. The lettuce and mango pico were fresh. Would get again. My fiancé had the pork mac and cheese. The portion was filling. The meat was flavorful, and the mac and cheese was pretty good. It was missing one ingredient that we couldn't place, but overall pretty good. We want to come back and try more entrees. Not so sure about the cocktails. Service was good. The waiter let my fiancé sample a cider he was interested in (it was okay, but we didn't order a full glass). He was on top of the order and checking in to make sure we were happy. The playlist was kind of all over the place but played songs we recognized and even liked. It's small inside with lots of outdoor seating, and the chairs inside aren't the most comfortable. But overall on a slow day like we experienced, we had a good enough time.

This visit was a mix of disappointment and appreciation…read more My son is back home for the summer and he chose The Quiet Pint for dinner. Everything was great except for my dish. I ordered the Cajun Cod Wrap from their weekly specials menu after seeing the photo they posted on Facebook. It looked good but what I received was a total disappointment. It looked nothing like the picture. First of all, it was tiny. I honestly thought I'd been given a kid's meal. It was that small. And for $15? It definitely wasn't worth the price. Second, the wrap was only filled halfway, with the rest of it being mostly tortilla. Finally, I took a bite and couldn't taste any Cajun seasoning at all. I let my husband and son each try a bite as well and neither of them could taste any Cajun either. We rarely complain about our food but this time we had to. Our server was incredibly kind and immediately agreed that it looked nothing like it should. She went to get the manager but another staff member came over because the manager was busy. He was also very friendly, understanding and agreed that what I received wasn't right. He offered to either remove it from our bill or let me order something else. I chose the street tacos because I know those are always good. I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally they handled the situation. That said, something similar happened before when I ordered from their weekly specials menu so I've decided I won't be ordering from it again. I'll be sticking to their regular menu from now on.

We had a preview of the…read morevenue before the pandemic and got a really good idea of what things would look like on the big day. This barn is absolutely stunning, nestled off the road behind a forest. There are sliding barn doors on 3 sides so you can have an open air reception with a cross breeze if you desire, or all doors closed if that's your thing. There's plenty of seating inside, with several tables and chairs. To my understanding, the venue can rent out the tablecloths, serving platters, cake stands, lanterns, and just about anything else you need. In the back you'll find spaces for a dessert setup, full bar, multiple bathrooms, and a changing room for both the bride and groom. Outside is a beautiful wraparound patio, plenty of space for dancing, guest book signing and even food if you'd like. There's the cutest space down the stairs and by the lake for an on-site ceremony, with custom bench seating. This is a really nice event space, perfect for a wedding in the Spring, Summer or Fall. It's a little hike from Charlotte, but definitely worth it. Check out their story on their website. Such a dream!

I would highly recommend of having a wedding or fun event here at the Barn at Cedar Hill. The staff was great; they were positive, supportive, took care of the needs of the guests. It was my first wedding where they served Mexican food. It was delicious. The pull pork was great. Flavorful. Tasty. Guacamole was average. I also want to give a shoutout to the staff as they had activities to do for the kids that were present; soccer ball, football, bats, frisbee, etc. Overall, nice time at the venue.

Tomato SZN in full effect! There's never a bad time for a stroll through the Triad Farmers Market,…read morebut the heat of summer is going to treat you to a bevy of vegetables like you would not believe. You'll find the freshest picked everything, from cucumbers to tomatoes and all points between. The market is fully covered, providing some much needed shade, and there are some permanent vendors that have an indoor facility such as an ice cream parlor, candy and fudge, general store, etc. There are full bathroom facilities on site, and even a restaurant called the Moose Cafe at the back which served southern favorites. Of course, what is offered depends on the season. You'll find a bounty of selections starting in late spring, through the summer, and into the fall. In the winter, produce starts to become more sparse, but there is no shortage of places to buy your Christmas tree if you celebrate with one of those. Best advice is to bring cash, but many vendors can take a card these days. You may get charged a little extra for using plastic in some spots though, and to help with these folks margins, cash is preferable.
