The cake was beautifully made and decorated and the quality of the work was fabulous. The cake itself was a really delicious Vanilla Sponge with a Vanilla Butter Cream in the middle and I loved the taste of this cake. The filling was buttery and tasty and the sponge was just moist and flaky. All in all a fabulous cake. I would highly recommend this place if you want a fabulous cake for any occasion.

The prices are very reasonable - but I have heard they are in trouble financially so it is a shame they dont charge a bit more for the food really as Im sure people would pay it. The Christian part of the cornerstone is a shop in the corner selling Christian cards, books etc. I cant imagine it does that well as it's a bit specialised, although maybe I am just seeing it from my own un-religious viewpoint? We knew we were in trouble when the harried, disorganized staff relied on the manager's memory to keep track of the waiting list. The ambiance at OOBC is a bit Modern Fred Flintstone, with half the place dedicated to a mostly empty lounge consisting of harsh-on-your-bottom curved cement benches around some wooden stumps set up as stools and tables. It's the kind of setting that could be really hip and cool when filled with people, or when empty like this night, weird and uncomfortable. They need more cushions here and maybe some hanging fabric to dampen the echos. In contrast to the empty uncomfortable lounge, the left half of the place was overly crowded by long tables placed too close together. You know they're too close together because the staff are constantly shoving your chair out of the way to serve others. Because the decor is so sparse, sound bounced everywhere, and it was very hard to talk because of the noise. They really need more soft furnishings to deaden the noise and make it feel more comfortable. Basically, months after this place opened, they still have not figured out how to use the space effectively. As for the service, the poor management of the waiting list was only the beginning of the chaos. When we were finally seated after a long wait, we were served by a confused staff of three different waitresses. At two different points in the evening, they served us coffees meant for other tables, and they seemed to be CONSTANTLY interrupting our conversation in order to collect empty glasses. I don't know if they're short on glassware or just wanted to seem attentive, but it was really ridiculous for them to constantly interrupt. As for the food, they did serve tasty burgers. I had the Mexican Ali, which to my Californian ears sounds like a strange name. I would have named it Mexicali or Mexican not sure what the heck an Ali is. Muhhamed Ali? The meat turned out uneven, with one half very pink and the other side very cooked. It was tasty enough, but I'm not sure it was worth the 9.50. So we won't be back at this place in a hurry. I still enjoy Coco's and Kasbar but they clearly haven't figured out how to run an organic burger place yet.

The kiosk is fully staffed and has the standard Starbucks drink menu as well as food items. The full cafe has ample seating outside of the central food court and also stocks merchandise such as the official Starbucks cups and their bagged coffee. Some of the prices here are the same as a free-standing location, however promo prices are not in affect. For example, the hot mulled fruits are about £1 more than in town. The drinks are quite competently made and are much better than the espresso drinks available at other Welcome Break Starbucks locations. I was surprised at how well my cappuccino was crafted. I also tried a croissant, which irritatingly came with no accompaniments and tasted a bit stale. Still, it's miles above above other roadside coffee shops. If you are traveling on the M40 and are highly in need of caffeine, I recommend this Starbucks for a quick pick-me-up.
