They are going to go with what they call "bag of bones" and just let it heal on its own. Dr Heitner at All Florida explained the reasons they decided to go with that route. Mostly because mom hates Doctors and hospitals and won't do therapy or take pain pills, but complains of the pain and discomfort constantly. She is the worst patient in the world.

I asked each what surgical approach they used, and all said the classical lateral one. When I asked about other surgical options, all were dismissive of any other technique. After I moved to St. Petersburg, my Rheumatologist recommended Dr. Bolhofner (she indicated he was the surgeon the physicians go to). Surgery was without any incidents, I was up and walking the day of surgery, and have kept walking ever since. No problems, no complications.
