The care associates are so nice and always willing to help with a smile on their face. You do not see them on their phones like other places we visited. I have toured this facility twice upon recommendations from my mothers hospice staff. I have been favorably impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, the services and amenities provided both to support independent living and assisted living. Residents seemed happy and gave unsolicited accolades for West Shores. It is my first choice for assisted-living placement when my mother is no longer able to continue where she is. I feel very confident she will get the best help there and it is reasonably priced considering the other options available. read more

When you walk through their doors, you fell Welcomed! The front office staff are eager to be of any assistance. Being with Visiting Angels I'm able to participate with Activities and bring goodies for them to enjoy. If you are able to take a Tour, check out the amazing Library. My grandmother has a friend who lives here and loves it. It's difficult to find a retirement community that encourages freedom yet maintains the required amount of control. It's clean and friendly and feels like home when you walk in the door. It's hard for me to rate a retirement community, but from what I can tell, this place is nice. read more

For the money you can get a "lot more" if your willing to relocate (Texas, Arizona, New Mexico). The food is below mediocre, its not a fresh buffet style where you can go up with your tray and order what you'd like to eat. They have a basic menu you order from and they bring it out of a small doorway from the kitchen, not knowing if its last weeks partial left overs or who's cooking/microwaving the so called food. One of the elevators seems to be a little sluggish. The exercise room is basically some chairs and pool noodles. They have no pool or jacuzzi, no theater room (just a 50" flat screen in the lobby that they put chairs out to watch events). I thought these kinds of places went out of business in the 90's. It's sad to see these elderly people getting taken advantage of by corporate/company greed. As far as the staff, most seemed to care. I did see some dining staff get a little short with some of the residents/guest. They need to remember that weekly/bi-weekly pay check comes from all those elderly tenants. read more
