I wanted my family in church, and through a series of events we found LSCC. That little church community revolutionized my marriage, my children's walk with Christ, my friendships -- I could go on & on. It frightens me to think that I could have gone my whole life thinking I was a "good Christian" when I was so very far from being "all in" with Christ. Randy is the REAL DEAL, and if I could be half the woman Darla is, I'd be doing great! I saw a review stating that the church wasn't Bible believing/teaching, and with all due respect, that simply isn't true. In fact, Randy didn't even plan on being a preacher, he just wanted to have a really good community Bible study, and it blew up. That's right, the entire church started out as a Bible study. Honestly, I feel if time wasn't a constraint, Randy (and the other pastors) could preach for HOURS and we'd all be glued to the lesson. The "Digging Deep" Bible study is offered before church (and during the week) and takes you further and more richly into the Scriptures that surround Sunday's services. In fact, I grew up in traditional Protestant and Catholic Churches, and it wasn't until I started to attend LSCC that I actually studied and understood the Bible. The services are honest, timely, Biblical, and I can count on one hand how many times I made it through one of Pastor Randy, Pastor Amber or Pastor Rob's sermons without bawling my eyes out. To that end, it was the first place I ever audibly heard the voice of God. I had authentically felt the presence of the Lord, but never heard Him. And, to be honest, I always made fun of/questioned folks saying "God told me...", until it happened to me, right there in LSCC. And, I'm not the only one...I've seen hardened veterans, big burley cow hands, little old ladies and 7 year old children all walk down the aisle with tears in their eyes as they accepted Jesus into their hearts. The Next Gen program (lead by Pastor Amber) is mind blowingly amazing. My three year old's only fits were when we'd tell him it was time to leave Sunday school. My six year old accurately and contextually quotes Scripture. Also, I teach high schoolers who attend LSCC and they are all authentically pursuing their Great Commission. So, if you have kiddos and you care about their walk, get them to LSCC ASAP. We're now in Montana, and the absolute hardest part of leaving Texas wasn't leaving family and friends, though that was hard, it was leaving LSCC. We cried during after our last service there, and bawled some more when Pastor Amber prayed over our family as she said her goodbyes. We now go to church in-person here, but watch the LSCC online service on Monday mornings, because nothing here compares to the message and Great Commission work being done at that little Cowboy church in Montgomery, TX. If you want a REAL, all in, unbridled, unfiltered relationship with the Lord, and a community and leadership to help you get there, Lone Star Cowboy Church is where it's at.

However all beauty and history aside, there are a few drawbacks that hold this parish back a bit. My primary criticism is the Liturgy. Despite all the beautiful walls within the church, the mass within the church is a bit... hollow. Why have a gorgeous high altar when you don't even bother to use it? Why instead is the altar that is used look like a little table that barely fits anything? This parish should use the tools that God has given them, not some renovations from the 60's. This is also reflected in the atmosphere of the parish overall. People talking before and after Mass, dressing in jeans or shorts, and just an overall lack of reverance. It's far from the worst offender in the area, but it's just another in a line of irreverent Masses. This church deserves so much more! As for the staff, they seem friendly enough. Fr. Anthony seems nice enough, but he seems like a priest going through the motions. Overall I will always be at awe over the art in this Church and likely will visit again for that reason, however improvements can be made. I've seen much worse here in rural Texas, but this church needs to embrace its traditions. The future of The Catholic Church is in tradition. Younger generations yearn for tradition!

Today we just finished our first time at St. Mary's Annual Bizarre (2019 was their 125th annual bizarre). This bizarre was amazing with a great, large turnout (huge). We loved experiencing the community, the country and homemade BBQ and deserts; live auction so fun; great silent auction and the kids loved the games. We really appreciated how the bizarre is a great gathering feast to Montgomery, Plantersville and around. If visiting the area, St. Mary's would be a nice place to visit followed by Sunday late afternoon fun at Bernhardt Winery in Plantersville.

My Disappointing Experience with The Woodlands Methodist Church Science Summer Camp (July 20-24,…read more2026) My grandson was registered for the week-long science summer camp at The Woodlands Methodist Church from July 20, 2026, to July 24, 2026. Four of his friends were also registered for the same camp. Unfortunately, while his friends were placed together in one class, my grandson was assigned to a different class with children he did not know. He was very disappointed and wanted to be with the friends he already knew. I requested that he be moved to their class, but my request was denied. I spoke with the registrar, Miss Kathy, who explained that there were over 1,200 children in the camp and that they do not make changes. When I asked how many similar requests they had received, she said, "Zero." I found it very disappointing that, despite this being the first request, there was no willingness to make an exception. I also spoke with the director, Miss Wendy, but received the same response. They suggested that he make new friends, but this was only a five-day camp, not a long-term school environment. I understand children come to camp to learn, but learning is most effective when a child is happy, comfortable, and excited to participate. A child who feels unhappy will not have the same opportunity to enjoy or benefit from the experience. My biggest disappointment was the lack of flexibility, compassion, and understanding. I expected a church-operated program to reflect values of kindness, support, and love. Instead, I felt that rules were placed above a child's happiness. I am not a regular church-going person, but I have always heard people talk about "our church" and wondered what that meant. After this experience, I can say The Woodlands Methodist Church did not feel like a place that represented those values to me. It is sad when people in positions of authority focus more on policies than on showing compassion. I had a very disappointing experience and would encourage parents to ask questions about class placement and policies before registering their children. The camp does not offer refunds, and they are welcome to keep my fee as a charitable donation. I would not send my grandson to a place where I do not feel there is genuine love, support, and understanding for children.

They wrap you in love from the moment you walk in, they genuinely are happy to see you!! They aren't about making the church a mega church, they are a smaller church with values!! The services are just great, you get a colorful service, funny often but focused on God ALWAYS!! I just feel good when I'm there and even after I leave, I can't wait to go back!! I love this church!!! Jesus answered our prayers when we were looking for a good church after leaving the last "church" and we finally found one!! Thank you Jesus!!

We didn't know the songs so couldn't really join in during worship. Worship lasted a good hour. Lots of ppl lifting their hands to the Lord. Very spiritual. You could feel God's presence. People seem really nice and down to Earth. Very casual environment.
