In January 2026, The Light Church will be celebrating its 20th anniversary!!! There were 3 awesome services on Christmas Eve this week. The worship team is phenomenal. The pastor, Ron Bates, is terrific. He and his wife, Ava, are so genuine and they love the congregation so much. What you see at church is what you see away from church. There is the best women's ministry as well. It is called Radiance and there are so many fun things to do within that ministry. Check out the website at thelightcf.org. When you visit on Sunday at 9AM or 11AM, look for me! I am usually at every service. There is also a great bible study group that meets Wednesdays at 7PM. I love this church!! Hope to see you soon!!

He teaches with truth and also with compassion. The music is for worship, not for show. Still it is beautiful. The classes after service are wonderful. It is a time to stop and study with others. The ladies in the nursery are so kind & nurturing to our little one. The church has a large homeschool community & lots of activities for families! My eye was drawn to this bright white church in Willis and I had to stop to check it out…read more Unfortunately, the building was locked and secure when I was here on a Monday morning. I'm sure the interior is worth checking out. The marker in the front reads, "Organized in 1867 as the Thomas Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, South, this congregation is the oldest in Willis and pre-dates the founding of the community. Worship services were held in log and frame buildings and brush arbors before this building was completed in 1899 during the pastorate of the Rev. Edward Lee. Elements of the Gothic Revival style, a style commonly used in church buildings, include the large Gothic window on the front façade, smaller Gothic windows above the entrance, and the square bell tower.
