We bought our first home back in Sept. which was for sale through Showcase…read more Not only was the home being sold by Showcase but the home was a flip house purchased previously by a Showcase realator, Dawn who was also the seller. Well it was nothing but problems & rudeness from the start dealing with Flagstar Bank which they work hand in hand with. There was an enormous bees nest under the back porch which was not removed until the day of the closing. Also the stairs off the back porch which is a high back deck was missing a support which you could see was clearly there, but somehow dissappeared. Well that was like pulling teeth to have replaced considering it was a safety issue. The main reason im writing this review now is that after living in the home for 3.5 months There are so many corners that were cut & things that were done extremely CHEAP to make it look nice & just get it sold with no regard whatsoever for the new buyer & that this was going to be our home!! These are all things that have nothing to do with the home inspection because so far the homes integrity seems pretty good. But the undersink plumbing was done completely shotty with leaks constantly happening that i had to redo myself. Im an Electrical contractor so im no beginner to the construction industry. Given these are things that should have been bone properly had less than $40 been spent. I had a painter come in to look at the paint because there blotches, runs, stains etc. Throughout but went unseen because the seller DIDNT want the power on while it was for sale & each time we looked at the home we were rushed right out & practically had to go through hell to get into the home. Well the painter said the paint was the cheapest he'd ever seen & it was all cut with water, not primed & just done terribly & Cheaply. Dont get me wrong i know about flipping homes & I know its to make $$ but not in a way that you decieve the buyer with hack jobs just to sell & the real kicker was her husband was a contractor!!! Lol... After over 20 years in the electrical trade i have never done work with the cheapest materials & in the shottiest way i could! You need to have some pride in your work & there was absolutely NONE here! We love the home now & we love the property but we feel & I KNOW all these things as well as others that we are continously suprised with could have been done so much better for almost no increase in cost had she taken the time to hire a qualified person to handle it. This had to be a first time flip & we happened yo be the ones to buy it. I have serviced & worked in numerous flips & 95% of them are handled properly, but not so in this instance! Its just like the old saying, you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig. Now im comming out of my pocket to bring things up to the level they should have been to begin with. You put trust in people who deal with the public on a daily basis SELLING HOMES, you want to think these people have families too & arnt out to pull the wool over your eyes but that's just not so.. Just better dressed used car salesman!!! For anyone looking to use Showcase, Be aware, BE VERY AWARE!!
