My wife and I attended a holistic health expo in Fort Walton Beach on August 31 2025, sponsored by…read moreNatural Awakenings. We were drawn to the Vibra-Tec display by an energetic, fast talking sales rep name Christine Mattera. She whispered to us these devices cost $3800 but we could get it that day for $1400, don't let the other sales rep know the deal you're getting. We discussed it and agreed to purchase the item. Christine then asked for my credit card, snatched it and ran it. Afterwards she handed us the sales receipt and told my wife to fill our the top and sign the bottom. I signed since I made the payment. After the expo, we decided that due to physical issues and the cost, this was not a fit for us. I contacted the company and told them we had changed our minds and since the item had not shipped yet, please cancel. They wrote back and said, "sorry, we do not do refunds or cancellations". I explained my situation to them and they reiterated the policy. I told them we were not told of the policy at the time of purchase, non-disclosure. Same response received. I then asked for this request to be elevated to management. They said they did but if that is true, then management doesn't care because they never had the decency or minimal understanding of customer service to respond. In the state of Florida, you have 3 days to cancel a contract. This company is based out of Florida. We requested cancellation within that timeframe. Vibra-Tec chooses to ignore that. I don't know if this device is any good. I don't know it this device is better than lower priced alternatives. All I know is that I was snookered into a scam job for a device that I don't even want now. Don't buy their products. You get no customer support or fair treatment, just fast talk and you'll wind up getting snookered too. I reported this to the editor of Natural Awakenings. His response was sorry, nothing we can do about your scam problem. We thought that since they sponsored the Expo, they would be concerned and responsible about the companies they allow to participate in their Health Expos.

As a distributor of the area's magazine, I looked forward to making sure that every customer that entered my store left with the most recent copy. Sadly for us she has retired & handed over the reins to someone who leaves a lot to be desired by way of professionalism. Rude & lacking in communication skills, I don't feel as good about the magazine as I once did. I'm hoping that changes, but if what I experienced this last weekend from her is any indication, I will not be holding my breath. ..

With the seemingly eminent demise of the Orlando Sentinel daily paper, we are left with Orlando's…read more'alternative paper,' the Weekly. It mostly focuses on entertainment, so if you need to know who's playing where and what the drink specials are, this is your up to date source. Of course, on the back pages you'll find lots of ads for "outcall masseuses" and phone sex lines, but it still has some interesting content. Steve Schneider is sometimes brilliant, Billy Manes is everyones favorite gay scenester, and Happytown and Council Watch can be a fascinating read. Be sure to take the restaurant reviews with a grain of salt, though; although well written, they tend to praise their advertisers. How can you complain, its published every Thursday and its FREE!

The content is really kind of "one track mind", and customer relations and community feedback are ignored often, but if you want to know the best place in town for a beer, burger, or vegan hot dog.... this is the paper to read. Also, know the latest "best friends" in the local music and art scenes by reading the "best of " mentions or local reviews. Just don't forget that it's operating on mostly a buddy system and many fantastic artists in Orlando are often just not credited. Ear and eyes open for the under dogs! ;-) It's an alright ALTERNATIVE paper.

At night I would not walk due to the lighting and the transient population that hangs out in the area. When it was under the New Journal control there were theatrical events that were wonderful to go to. There are two theaters inside depending on the venue needed. The smaller one (Gillespy theater) was great for "A street care named desire" and the larger main theater was perfect for "Jesus Christ superstar" to name a few. I miss the productions and hope they bring them back now that Daytona State is running things. For the special events the set up is usually in the main entry way area and they set up seats and tables so you can enjoy the view through the very large wall of glass to the intercostal. Overall a fun place to come to usually with Valet parking or you can park on the streets and public parking lots in the area. Plenty of places to walk to in the area as well if you need to stretch your legs. Just be careful and know your surroundings.

The biggest problem I see with this venue is that it is a small venue because of this my wife was only allowed to give out 7 tickets to family members. When someone is graduating they want to invite all the people who have helped them in their career and this place simply doesn't allow it. Another problem is that just to enter the venue seating you have to go up stairs which escalators are available but then when you get upstairs you still have to go up regular stairs which is not good for older people especially those who have trouble walking up them.
