I've drove past it for the last 4 years and always wanted to go inside but never did. They always have signs out there with great deals and the other day I finally stopped to check it out. The sign said something like .25 leggings and Easter Basket stuff for .25 each as well. So I wanted to check it out I had time. I walked in and I met Debbie who runs it, she is a delight. She was so kind and genuine and you can tell her heart is pure. She was funny and when I wanted to buy something and realized they only take Cash or Venmo I believe I didn't have either she told me it's okay, just take it. You can give it to me next time. I ended up finding some change in my car. Debbie insisted on me grabbing more clothing for a severely discounted rate ( little did she know, I was having surgery the next day and will be out of work and out of money for a few weeks) sure was an Angel working in there at that moment when I needed them most. They have student volunteers helping out. They have a good selection of donations. Please support a non-profit or dedicate some of your time and volunteer. Their cause is amazing and I would love for more people to check it out. I even told my mom and she's going to check it out.

The volunteers who work here are little angels! They don't make you feel uncomfortable that you…read moreneed help, they are smiles all around and they talk to you, and make you smile while you wait. Please do the research before going so you know when you can in regards to ya name and times and stuff. But they welcome everyone they DONT question your income or anything, so don't feel embarrassed because we all need help. They are there to help you pay 6.00 and you get a range of groceries that they have, you pull into the parking lot at the school in West Warwick, you get a number wait in line, then when it's your turn you go down to the building and pay the 6.00 cash or card , pop your trunk and they load it up as much as they can. It's been a blessing to have them when I've gone through some tough times. Make sure your trunk is empty or they won't put as much as they might've. They're all so sweet, ask any questions you have All the volunteers will gladly help you. This isn't like a food pantry where you get to pick your food, this is a pre-made box that's put in your car. They never disappointed me for 6.00 one item cost that alone and they always give you such a range of items. Good luck, and never be afraid to ask for help especially when you need it.

Be the Change/Project Hand Up has been providing food to the community for years. Before the…read morepandemic, you were allowed inside their warehouse to shop for food at a reduced cost of a few dollars per bag. They offer shelf stable items like pasta, rice and canned goods as well as fresh produce. Much of the food available is provided through local businesses such as Job Lot, Trader Joe's and Wholefoods for example as well as buying in bulk using funds donated to the organization and grants they have secured through various organizations. They are always in need of toiletry items and welcome donations from church and other community organization 'drives' to provided H&B as well as food items. This is a volunteer run organization. During the pandemic the need for food across the state has greatly increased! Now, volunteers bag up the groceries and place them into customers trunks. Each bag contains the same items (you do not get to choose at this time), everyone, including those in their cars (keep your windows UP) are required to wear a mask for safety and the groceries can only be placed in your trunk (not the back seat for example) so be sure your trunk has space! I have been following them on social media (facebook.com/groups/760470710772856) from the beginning and luckily I have not had need to take advantage of their services, but I have donated to them in support of the community and share their posts publicly. There is no application, no financial requirement, if you are experiencing a food scarcity, drive up and they will fill your trunk with food. Follow them on social media or check their website to know which days they are offering curbside delivery (determined by the first letter in your last name) and what items they expect to be in the bags, with a caveat that the items may change once they have exhausted the supply. This is a much needed organization in our community, especially during this pandemic when so many people are out of work! I have definitely been in a place where I appreciated there were organizations like this one to get me out of a tough spot that many people go through at some point in life. It's completely OK to get help during these moments. As their name states, the are Project Hand UP, not hand out. They are available to working individuals, seniors on a fixed income as well as those who are unemployed or otherwise find themselves having the make tough decisions between paying for rent/medicine/etc. or eating. Now I 'pay it forward' as I am sure many of those who are presently taking advantage will be able to do in the near future. I appreciate the efforts of all the volunteers and Coreen St. Jean specifically for beginning this organization to meet the needs of the community, keeping it going and expanding it to meet the growing need. If you need a helping hand, please get it. If you are looking for a way to support the community you will find a donation link on their website. This is the absolute best playground in Warwick. It is very well maintained, safe, and clean. It's…read moresuch a neat experience for children. They can truly let their imaginations run wild here. They can drive the big wooden car or one of the many Little Tykes cars they have. You can fly a helicopter or be the train conductor. You can play in the sand table with all of the construction vehicles. You can pretend to paddle the fishing boat and pretend to fish. It's truly one of the best playgrounds I have seen. It's so unfortunate people have had such terrible experiences in the past, but I did not. I've had…read moresuch amazing experiences and this place could've just saved me from a potential fatal infection I had in my mouth for a year and a half. I will share my story about this amazing place! I have been dealing with a rotted molar for a year and a half, my tooth had so much damage to it that it eventually broke into several pieces but the other half of the tooth was left inside my mouth rotted. For a year and a half every dentist I would find in Rhode Island told me they couldn't do it. And then one day I contacted Thundermist, they literally squeezed me in immediately because I was in so much pain, they did X-Rays and that's when I met Dr. Meera Sharma who changed my life. She was so kind and assured me she would remove it, I couldn't believe it finally someone was going to do it. They did tell me it would take me quite some time to get an apt due to the schedule being booked, but I didn't want anyone else I wanted Dr. Sharma. I waited about a month and a half still in pain, but she prescribed me meds and I was able to handle it. The day of my procedure I was terrified because I have severe anxiety, Dr. Sharma's young lady assistant was beyond amazing. She kept me calm, I was shaking and crying and she educated me on everything, showed me the tooth and what would be happening. As I'm freaking out Dr. Sharma came in and reassured me I am in control, and whatever I say goes. Once again educating me and telling me what would be happening. After the initial terror I had, I was finally able to calm down. They both spoke to me calmly, patiently and worked on the tooth. Dr. Sharma is a trooper my tooth wouldn't come out it took an hour to get it out, she didn't give up on me and was patient and she didn't hurt me at all! I can't believe the impeccable job that was done. I am thankful beyond belief for her. I am eternally grateful and she saved my life. A year and a half in pain and I am no longer in pain all due to Dr.Sharma I am so grateful for her. FYI I am on state insurance so to my fellow Medicaid people with dental issues try here. This was the only place who would do it, and I'm so glad this was my option!

They claim to be there for you and they'll work with you so it's affordable to all. Not the case. I ultimately had waited 1.5 hours for the dentist. That would be the only dentist there who did not even look in my mouth while reciting to me she was too busy to help me."You come back" she said.. Without sounding too annoyed and so confused at the whole experience, now I'm just angry. Shame on them!!. West bay has all types of help when it comes to people struggling to pay rent, struggling to get food, medical insurance and many other things.
