They said they would knock off $700 if they got the roofing job. They never called my son with a quote of the repairs or inspected the inside of the house to see where the leak was. What a rip off artist. I am a 72yr. old U.S. Marine, and I have never experienced such gross failure to consider the customer and give them a quality job for their hard earned dollars. Why cover 400sq. ft and charge that price when a simple fix would have done the job? I have pictures to prove the facts! They even left trash from the roll of duct tape and plastic tarp lying on the ground. They ripped my son off because he is living in Chicago. I have 9 rental properties in Springfield, but my will was ill and I could not get up there to repair it and save my son the hassle of dealing with a person who grossly overcharges for their services. Only a fool would consider giving them any business!!! I have only written one negative review in my life, so I do not make it a practice to do this. I have owned my own small business for 40+ years and know how hard you work to keep a good reputation and keep customers happy. They were supposedly reordered the day of installation, June, and its 4 months later and we STILL do not have them. We are constantly calling and getting one excuse after another from the owner. As an example of the quality of work. 1. The metal roof valley seams look like they were done by a 4th grader. Extremely sloppy work. The one valley leaks water into the house when it rains. The owner of the company, James Yoder was notified of this, finally after a week he returned and put caulk down. The next rain 3 days later, the roof leaked again. Yoder was notified and he said he didn't know what to do...he never returned. Roof at this time was about 5 months old and was supposed to be guaranteed. 2. Windows and a sliding door he installed both leak when it rains. We are talking severe leaks. This has to be causing damage to the structure of the house. 3. Two of the outside trim boards fell off because they were not nailed on, but simply caulked on. 4. The tile floor is uneven, seams are cracking and the grout is breaking up. 5. The thermostat for the floor was put in crooked and the wall outlets have visible holes around them. 6. There are two open areas on the roof that lead directly into the house. 7. Seams are separating and cracks are developing. 8. Windows were put in incorrectly and will not lock. This project is less than a year old and we continue to find major flaws. Yoder Construction does sloppy, substandard work and should not be trusted to do any kind of construction work.

First James Yoder told me that he had started a job that was bigger than what he thought it would be and that it was taking longer to get to our repairs. He then told me that he had other jobs ahead of mine. I told him that wasn't what he told me when he was 1st contacted. I then found out that the work that he was to do was being done by the vendor that had originally done the gutter work. I then contacted James Yoder with this information and requested my money back. James Yoder also said to me, "I'll be more than happy to come check and check the vendor that's doing the work, to make sure that it was done correctly". James Yoder told me that he would send my money back that weekend. 2 weeks went by and I still had not received my money after I had contacted him twice. I called James Yoder a 3rd time and told him that I had been very patient and wanted my money back. At this time James Yoder was verbally abusive and very unprofessional. He said, "if you want to get smart, I'll wait a month before I send your money back and hung up on me. That is unacceptable and is very poor customer service. Gave them the go ahead. They started about 830 AM on the 1st and were finished by 330 PM. They did a great job on roof and there was no trash left behind. Wold not hesitate to use them again.
