When I first walked in they told me I would have to submit an application to see the dogs, ok great…read moreno problem. We leave and my boyfriend (who is 19) submits the application and within like 20 minutes receives a call. *background: my boyfriend put me and my miniature dachshund down on the application because the dog would be around us a lot, not because we live with him* First we get told that he has to be 21 so the dog would have to be put under his dad's name, and they would have to call his dad to make sure it is ok. (He has no problem with this). I was in the store while my boyfriend took the call, and the lady he was talking to told him that no information was found for my dog. She was REAL snotty about this. (She is not under my name for the vet but my moms, she's just the one who paid for/set up the account for my dog because I was a minor when I got my dog). I had my boyfriend call back and tell them that my dogs name is not under any of the names on the application and the lady was once again rude. She called my boyfriend's dad, and asked like she said she would. My boyfriend's dad said yes of course and the lady replied with "okay.. I guess". *at some point during the call she informs my boyfriend that all the people in his household AND my dog would have to come in to meet the said dog to make sure everyone would get along. My dog does NOT do good in shelter/vet like environments. She does not do well with new people.* After she gets off the phone with my boyfriend's dad, she calls my boyfriend back and tells him that my mom would have to call my vet and allow them to release the medical information. I understand the application and them wanting to make sure all of their dogs go to a good home, but the attitude and the way that we were both treated, as LEGAL adults, is very disappointing.

From mixes to pure breds, there is always someone in need of a good, loving home. If you're not looking to adopt right now, you can always volunteer. They need walkers, cleaners, and fosters. You can also donate much needed items. They keep a list on hand of the things they are in need of. Everyone is so nice & helpful. The dogs are well taken care of. The cages are clean. The dogs get walked and played with by the volunteers. They make sure that each dog has a meet & greet & is the right fit for their potential family.

I got a job here back at the beginning of March. I worked for two days as a PRN shift employee. It…read moreis now 5/11/24, a whole two months later, and I still have not gotten paid for my shifts. On top of that, I have reached out about this issue several times through both email and phone calls. I was given tax paperwork to fill out after the first few times I reached out about payment for my job and still I have yet to get the money I am owed. Earlier this week I stopped by to speak to the person in charge of their HR department, Teresa I believe her name was. I was given terrible excuses about why I haven't gotten paid yet and was also told that I did not even work there anymore. Which was a surprise since I never got notified that my position was terminated. No phone call, no text, no email. I am the only one in my household other than my dog and I need the money due to how bad my living situation is (bills and food mainly). Two whole months have passed where they could've corrected this blunder, but instead they choose to give me the run around and not even bother telling me that I no longer worked there.

They sent her away to go back to her situation and did nothing to help. This place is a joke. She is more than capable of taking care of herself, she just needed a safe place to go and they failed her.

I had asked if it was possible to speak with an actual foster parent to learn things that you would only learn from actual doing the job. You would have thought I was asking them for high classified information. so we ended up having to do our own homework. when I reached out to them again numbers were blocked, emails and phone calls went unanswered. I put in a complaint even then I couldn't get a return call.i just kept getting emails asking if I wanted to attend a informational meeting. If we decide to foster it will not be with this company. I feel sorry for the kids in this program. commication is awful

The bf and I donated Christmas gifts in 2011 to the children and it really warmed our hearts! Their staff, namely, Pat, Elsie, and Cheryl are great at what they do. There's a ton of care, love, and consideration at the Villages. We are currently going through the pre-foster licensing phase. While we are definitely early on in the game, were happy to take the classes that in hopes of one year both our house and our relationship will be able to support small little humans one day! I took a star off mainly because I was given a 3 day notice as to when the classes were going to start (hard when you work) and my phone calls don't exactly get returned. Overall, if your looking at a passionate agency to adopt, foster, mentor, be a kinship parent, or devote some funds/volunteer efforts, well then...go to the Villages.
