Update: Anyway Plumbing arrived filthy, tracked it into my home and left me with a huge mess and a…read morecarpet cleaning bill. In addition, I lost two days of child care wages waiting for my carpet to be cleaned due to their negligence and total disregard of my home. They used us like employees fetching parts, digging/burying holes and cleaning up after them. Anyway Plumbing left the job unfinished, leaving a huge hole dangerously uncovered along with their trash, used rubber gloves and all the disgusting sewage they pulled out of the sewer line in the driveway. There were two trash cans 2' in front of them! What they did was extremely unprofessional, disgusting, unsafe and completely lazy to say the least. They advertised $60/hour and free consultations for my area. When I received the bill I was charged $75/hour more than advertised and $135 charge for a 10 minute drive. Needless to say I was not happy. They made a total mess of my home and charged me well over double. The employee told me he would let the owner know how dissatisfied I was. After realizing the damages they caused exceeded the bill and absolutely no contact from the owner, I put a stop payment on my check. I contacted and informed the owner I canceled it and informed him of my grievances. I even requested a face to face meeting with the owner and his employees that were at my home. I never received a response to my request. A decent upstanding business owner would have met with a customer that had a less than satisfactory experience. He took me to small claims court instead. The original bill was $540. He sued me for $2,536! This business owner is a piece of work. They treated my home like a barnyard, left me with a huge mess and a carpet cleaning bill, used us like employees, charged over double their advertised rate, put me out two days of wages, completely ignored my concerns and tried to scam an extra $1,996 from me. How pathetic, immoral and sickening! Anyway Plumbing stated in court they were trying to save us money and that is why they used us for fetching parts, digging/burying holes and cleaning up after them. What a crock! They took advantage of us in every way they could. They wanted to get as much money as they could while doing as little work as possible, making a total mess of my home in the process. The owner also stated I saw an old add. The add I was looking at was Anyway Plumbing's Facebook page. Everything on it including the story advertised free consultations in my area, operating 24/7 at $60/hour. They advertised absolutely nothing about after hour rates, weekend rates, extra help charges or any sort of drive time charge. If you're going to charge $135/hour ($75/hour more than advertised) and $135 for a 10 minute drive, the customer should be told when they call and definitely before any work is started. It's the decent and legal thing to do. It's unethical to bait someone with misleading advertisements and not inform them you're charging well over double until you hand them the bill. It was determined in court that I should have been billed $60/hour totaling $240. I thought by submitting a counterclaim I would be saying I wanted a buck from this disgraceful business, and the only thing I wanted was an apology. I did not submit a counterclaim for my damages for this reason. I thought my damages would offset their bill but found out that's not how it works. My damages well exceeded their bill. I had receipts and photos of the deplorable mess they left, but it didn't matter without submitting a counterclaim. This business owner made grossly untrue statements and pitiful excuses for how he and his employees treated my family, my home and my property. I never received any sort of apology from Anyway Plumbing. It's pathetic that there are businesses like this one that will take full advantage of a customer for a dollar bill.
