To my great pleasure, Matthew from A.C.E.S. was super professional about it & offered to either refund me and I could return it, or they would help facilitate the repair. The latter is what ended up occurring, and even though it took many months longer than expected for the W2 to come back fully functional, but when it did, Matthew indeed made good on his word to reimburse me for the repair work done (by another amazing company, local synth wranglers "Bell Tone Synth Works" (if you are a synth person in the tri-state area, they are the *best*) Anyways, would 100% buy another weird music item or other oddity from A.C.E.S. in the future. As a buyer I depend on the auction house to give me an honest appraisal of the condition of an item as I do not live in the metro-area and seldom have a chance to preview in person. I understand the need for the auction houses to give caveats, but coming from Ace of Estates, the descriptions have always been accurate. The photography is excellent, showing me the important details. The staff is very knowledgeable and always quick to respond to any questions I have. This top-tier auction house has become an excellent source of high-quality inventory for me. THANKS!!

Peter was super helpful and after looking around the store I ended up purchasing the stove from the ad. I also picked up a couch and a fantastic hardcover book to add to my collection. I didn't have my truck so I made arrangements to come back in a couple of days. When I made it back up, Peter helped me load everything up and couldn't have been nicer. He also gave me a great recommendation for a place to grab some lunch! The store isn't your usual junk shop and they have a lot of stuff you can use in your daily life, not just collectibles and things to catch dust. Their prices really impressed me too. Everything was reasonably priced especially when compared to prices in the valley. I told Peter I would be back and will keep an eye out for future ads.

I was told someone else was mistakenly given my item, but I was assured, they would retrieve that item. I called and emailed Mr. Harris at least five times, he did not return a call or text. A month later, he discovered his company made a mistake and put the photos of an item with an incorrect description, which he sold to me. Finally, his reply, 'my bad, sorry', he did not make it right - no refund. The phrase "caveat emptor" is Latin for "let the buyer beware."

It's nice that there's a mixed bag though, because you can sometimes find some treasures if you look hard enough. The scheduling is a bit funky, but if you know that you can't come for pick up the day after the auction, then you probably shouldn't bid. I've had to forgo bidding several times because of that policy. I wish they would get back to in-person auctions again, as it was considerably more fun that way. Also, you get to wander around and look more closely at what is coming up for auction. Of course they take pictures, but there's nothing better than seeing stuff in person. They do have preview days, but they are pretty far away for me to drive all the way out there unless the item coming up for bid is going to be expensive. My main criticism is on the condition reports. The condition reports are usually quite generic and don't always tell you much of what's wrong with the piece. They have gotten better over the years, but if you're going with a mainly online sale structure, I would like a bit better explanation of any issues.

I have never been to an auction so…read moreI can't compare it to anything (except what I've seen on the BBC channel) so the only thing I would have to say was that it was warmer then would have expected but that just added to the experience. If you want killer deals then make a trip out, there was this entire dinning set (table, chairs and sideboard) that sold for $10 and a HUGE sectional with a hide-a-bed and reclining seats that sold for $525!! There was a high-end Baldwin piano that sold for $900 and beautiful china cabinets with matching table and chairs...this place is awesome!! The auctions are sorted into 4 different rooms two inside and two outside. The items get better in quality as they move from outside to inside, back to outside and then to the last inside room which carried some big ticket furniture and appliances. There is a $50 refundable deposit on a bidding stick (which you need in order to participate in all the fun) and let me tell you it can get intense!! It's a great date idea and good fun for any one.

I said I would prefer to go to auction. They responded by disabling a working item for preview (that had just been serviced to be in working order), incorrectly listed it on their website (they didn't bother with a brand name, model or year) & then sold it for a fraction of the value. When I complained, I was told they "were sorry I felt that way" and nothing more. After years as a customer, I will not go back.
