On July 15th my daughter and I went into Raskins to get some work done on a couple rings. My husband passed away on Monday and I wanted to have his wedding band resized into a thumb ring for me and have our original engagement ring reset as the diamond had fallen out. Upon going into the store we saw many workers in there but no one seemed to care they had a customer, we were finally acknowledged by an older lady with dark hair (I wish I would of got her name) she was very rude from the beginning even with us telling her what and why we needed it done, she said in the very beginning "I don't think we can do that, but I'll ask the jeweler" after going to the back with my rings for what seemed like forever she came back out and rudely told us if he did it you'd be able to tell where he cut it and that to reset my ring it would be over $400 - it wasn't about the price it was about the absolute rudeness we received from her from the minute we walked in. I had lost my husband 2 days before that, it was hard enough going out in public but when she showed no care in the world like we were just ruining her day by being there. We decided they did not deserve our business. We decided to check another nearby jeweler while we were down there. He was the nicest guy, he quoted us a price less than half of what Raskins quoted us and had it done in an hour! It was done perfectly and NO you can not tell where he had to cut it. He even saved the piece he cut out for me! He showed remorse in why we needed it done and actually gave a shit. Sorry Raskin but you have lost my business forever. I called because the diamond in my ring was extremely loose, and they told me I could come in right away for them to take a look. I arrived less than five minutes later, and they immediately took my ring, fixed the setting, and even cleaned it. I was so relieved and grateful; not only for how quickly they helped me, but also because they didn't charge me anything. My husband and I wanted to do custom rings that mix the gold and stones from both sides of our families. We decided on Raskins since they had worked on a few of my other pieces with resizing and fixing a ring that I somehow managed to bend horrifically out of shape. The previous items were returned to me at a better than ever condition. When it came time to do our wedding/engagement rings, we considered a few jewelry stores and Raskins won. The process was pretty painless to start. We went in with the pieces we wanted to use in our rings and had a lengthy chat with James Carlisto about what we each wanted in our rings.... The world is your oyster when you go custom! James sketched the rough drafts out, we left our family pieces in their care and we waited. Some of the pieces we left were my grandmothers... she passed a few years back from Alzheimer's and she was my everything. My husband's dad gave his mother one of the pieces and it was the few things had from his father. I wanted us to be able to wear our families every day.... Needless to say these were priceless items to us. Me being paranoid about such important pieces in my life, James could tell I was having a bit of anxiety and assured me that they would be the ones we receive back. That helped, but I also know the stones like the back of my hand. Dorris was awesome with communication! She would text me all the updates for the process and send the CAD renderings for approval for our rings. They nailed it from the start, but I wanted a slight tweak to mine. I made a suggestion, they gave me feedback and it went smoothly. It took a few a month or so for the wax castings to be ready and then I believe another month or so for the final rings to arrive. They were perfect and exactly as we had dreamed. They came on beautiful boxes and at home cleaning kits. I had to have mine sized down because of my ring spinning and Raskins had it returned to me quickly! It has been over a year since we got our rings and they offer lifetime cleaning and prong checks to maintain the security of your setting. All in all, it was an excellent experience and if I have another piece made, it will surely be by Raskins! read more

I brought in a necklace that broke at the jump ring. They told me over the phone that they could repair it, that they had many size jump rings and that if they didn't have it they would order one. So I left it there. I came in today to pick it up. They just linked the chain together and didn't even put a jump ring in it. This was an anniversary present from my wife so I didn't want to alter it. They took it back and put a jump ring in it that is too big and makes the chain kink. He soldered it on and told me that if it catches anything again it will break the chain. So then why did you solder it? I asked him if he could do anything about the kink and he said no, thats the only size jump ring they have, lol! Didn't even offer to order one. Its so big that I can't even get the pendant back on it. Needless to say I'll be taking it somewhere else to actually repair it. It may not be the most expensive price of jewlery but its important to me and if it wasn't good enough for you to take the time to do a good job, you should have just said that to begin with. But instead you chose to waste​ my time and be insulting, stuck up, and uncaring. If I ever hear anyone mention the name Raskins Jewlers I will tell them about this horrible experience. read more

Great Response! I reached out one evening through Yelp and got a response within an hour. I am looking for some engraving on sterling silver. They responded multiple times first to say they can do the job in my required timeframe, then to explain that they are getting new equipment that will be able to engrave deeper, but that the equipment they have can etch, and they do not know if the new equipment will be ready in my timeframe. Either is fine with me, so I will be taking the items there to be eteched/engraved next week. Very happy with the communication. read more

Okay! Strap in because this is a long story, but it is worth a read. AVOID THIS PLACE! So I know this place is under new ownership. I took my engagement ring in to have the wedding band removed and have the engagement ring resized, as this was my fiancées mothers ring. I was told it would be two weeks (which I thought was a long time to begin with but I left it with them anyways). I called after two weeks because I had not heard anything from them. When I called I was informed the person who did the requested repairs was out of town and it would be an additional two weeks. 1 month to remove the wedding band and resize just the engagement ring?! Absolutely ridiculous! So I had my fiancé pick it while I was at work, they put it directly into the box and I picked it up from my fiancé about 2 hours later. I hadn't even looked at it as I took it directly to Legacy Jewelry (who were absolutely amazing!) Prior to starting the repairs there (which took all of 30 minutes and it's perfect!) the woman asked the gentleman doing the repair if everything was there and there wasn't anything missing and there were! There were two diamonds missing! The next business day I took the ring back to Raskin's and informed them there were two diamonds missing when my fiancé picked it up. They had taken a picture of it when I originally dropped it off and confirmed all the diamonds were there when I dropped it off. Luckily they didn't give me any grief about replacing the diamonds and the ring was fixed, which took another week. When I picked it up the older woman who helped me out was very kind, I did however have an issue with another woman there. The older woman said "okay, let me just check and see how much you owe" (she wasn't aware the repair was free as this was something they had done) so I was understanding that she just had to check and make sure I didn't owe anything. When the other woman came over, who I had dropped the ring off with the first time and again the second time when they needed to fix their mistake, she said "yes she doesn't owe anything, get her out of here." Really?! I had been very patient and kind through this whole very frustrating situation, as I just wanted to finally have my engagement ring. She was extremely rude. I would not recommend Raskin's to anyone! First they deceived me in regards to the time it would take for the initial repair, then they lost two diamonds on my ring, then that woman was extremely rude! Oh, also, there are scuff marks on my ring where they replaced the diamonds they lost! I was going to take it back in and have them buff it out but I don't ever want to go back there. I would instead recommend Legacy Jewelry, Scott and Mindi are amazing, kind, quick and provided me a high quality repair. These guys are great! Went in for a last minute engraving request and Les, the engraver took me right into his shop and completed the engraving job right then and there while I waited. I took to Raskin's Jewelers, estate pieces to be appraised and hopefully sold. There were significant number of pieces. I am familiar with the jewelry industry. It is not always you get honest appraisals and fair treatment in this business especially with estates pieces. I interviewed several estate jewelry stores and would not do business with them. If I could leave a zero I obviously would. This jeweler swapped my wife diamond when building her a new setting. I am a 3 generation Prescottonian and I'm so ashamed of when these guys did. After check around and talking to people it sounds like he has been doing this for years and people are too embarrassed to come out about it and if they do, he threatens lawsuit. They did NOT document the characteristics of my wife's diamond when accepting it for work that was going to take several weeks. Unfortunately, we didn't know better and now have the diamond in the pictures here. We are absolutely gutted about this. We do not live in Arizona any more and the owner knows that a court battle would not be worth the time and money. All I can do is let people know and hope it does not get away with it any more!! Use Raskin's if you will, but if you've read this, you have been warned. Go ahead, Greg Raskin, try to sue me. The truth always wins (which we will!) and people in our small town deserve better!! My husband and I relocated from Prescott to Phoenix, so when the prong on my engagement ring he purchased from Raskin's bent we tried taking it to a local jeweler for repair. Unfortunately, the local jeweler did not feel comfortable making the repair because it was caused by the poor craftsmanship of the ring and therefore would continue to happen. So I contacted Greg Raskin and we scheduled a time to meet and discuss the needed repair. The day we were supposed to meet, my husband and I made the 100 mi trek only to be informed by a confused Raskin's sales rep that Greg was out of town. Naively, I left my ring with them and continued emailing with Greg to ensure he knew exactly what repairs I wanted/didn't want to be done. He was apologetic and offered the services for free which I appreciated because they do not offer a lifetime warranty like their competitors. Greg Raskin assured me that there was adequate room on the ring's existing head to lower the diamond, as I did not want them to replace the head without seeing it beforehand. I made the 100 mi trek back to Prescott a week later and, despite Greg's promises, my diamond was put on a new head. Not to mention, the new head was poorly installed and still had jagged edges. After being gaslit by another sales rep (of course Greg was not there), I was told "I guess you're going to have to come back." No honesty, no empathy, no sincerity, and now I no longer have my ring. read more

They not only checked my necklace clasp, but they cleaned not only the necklace, but also cleaned my ring, gave me some jewelry cleaner and a really cool pen with a fake diamond on the end of it, and didn't charge me a cent! I was gifted a beautiful platinum and gold ring with. 3 diamonds. I had just moved and was recommended to Raskin Jewelers. I decided to have the ring looked at and overhauled. It was beautifully done. However in July, while driving , I noticed a stone was missing. I searched frantically, to no avail. While going to wash my hands , I noticed there was something on the side of the sink bowl , there was the diamond. I took it back to Raskins and they accepted responsibility and I also decided to have the ring sized. Alas, it was too small. They also fixed this at no charge added. There's something about living in a small town like Prescott. You know that wherever you go to get help, folks who have been here a while will do whatever they can to give assistance. Here's an example... Yesterday, my nephew was in desperate need of having a stainless steel ring removed from his little finger - it was swelling, painful, and attempts to get it cut off at the fire department were unsuccessful. "Go to a jewelers" they said. So we ended up at Raskins. For more than 30 minutes, a whole team of people took him to the back room where they worked very hard to try to get it off. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful, but that's not the point. The point is, surrounded by amazing rings, earrings, etc, (with no promise of making any kind of sale!) the people at Raskins took us in and did their best...no questions asked. They even called YRMC to get him in with someone who could do the job! I'm so impressed not only with the stock they have, but with the kind and caring service they provided us; you can be sure I'll be back to purchase something someday. I was in there this past Monday (12/6/21) and the rudeness of the sales lady blew my mind! 1st off, it's SALES/RETAIL; you win some, you lose some. You DON'T make snide and rude comments to a customer''s back as they're walking out just because they decided to not purchase something in your store. That is VERY bad & VERY UNPROFESSIONAL behavior for a sales person, let alone for someone in their 60s who has had a lot of time to be a grown ass women and not a petty kid! I may have been visiting but the friend I walked into the store with lived in Prescott. I told the lady I was from out of town and just browsing. She waited til I was turning around to head out to say "looks like it" as in "looks like I was from out of town". Guess if that means "old, rude, ugly and bitter", then yes, I'm from out of town. I work in customer service and am EVERYTHING she WASN'T! Her comment was absolutely uncalled for and someone needs to educate her on how customer service works. My friend knew his jewelry prices better than I did and the jewelry in the store were an absolute rip off! I recently bought jewelry from back home(CA) and my stones were bigger in size and better priced than this store. Says a lot when somewhere else you go to that has an overall cheaper cost of living than your home town, yet are charging way more than your hometown.
