Unfortunately, I've had the worst experience…read more Something told me to get our 26ft box truck towed an hour away to Hill Billy's towing, instead of allowing a company I didn't know to come out. My driver ran out of diesel. We dispatched out Pifer's because of that SOLE reason, we needed more diesel. My driver had already gotten 5 gallons in from a handheld jug. The tow driver comes out, DOESNT ADD ANY MORE FUEL, and proceeds to prime the pump. It doesn't start. Obviously. It's a 50 gallon tank, 5 gallons is nothing. They tow it back to the shop. Their mechanics look at the vehicle & suddenly there is oil coming out of everywhere. Major leaks, turbo is loose, no air filter...so I'm freaking out! Towards the end of the they give up and say they can't figure out the problem, we should tow it 40 minutes away to a sister company. LOL WE SAY NO WAY. We decide to use the freightliner right next door. In the meantime we send a recovery truck to transload the load & pick up the now stranded driver...We get a call from Freightliner the next morning saying there's nothing wrong with the vehicle. They are confused on what Pifers did & they laugh because IT ONLY NEEDED DIESEL they put 15 gallons in and my truck was up and running perfectly. No faults, no issues. So here's a shoutout to possibly the worst diesel mechanics in mineral wells, WV. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR SANITY. Avoid. To add insult to injury, JOE PIFER calls me demanding I send him video proof from my ELD to show his mechanic didn't put add in diesel. BEWARE.

He will be coming back to the states next month to finish his last two years before retirement from the Air Force. He isn't going to have a lot of time when he gets to Parkersburg before he has to pick up some belongings and head to Utah. He asked me if, since I was his power of attorney, I could go ahead and find a good truck and sign all the paperwork for him. My wife and I spent a day and drove through all of the car lots in Parkersburg and Marietta and found one that had all of the options he wanted at Matheny Motors. We expressed to the salesman that we would take it. There was an issue that needed resolved but regardless we would take it and be back. The salesman was off the next day and for whatever reason, the truck was sold the day he was off. When I called at 9AM the next morning when he returned, he told me what had happened. Needless to say I was upset but there is nothing that can be done at that point. Heather Whitlock, the new car sales manager found out about the issue and called me. We had a discussion and she simply asked what she could do to fix the problem. After some more discussion, she began looking for what my son was interested in and within a few hours, called me with what she found. The vehicle she found had more options and was, really, a better vehicle then what we had originally chose. We went down, test drive it, loved it, and sat down to work out a deal. Heather immediately said that she felt terrible about what had happened and offered a price that was truly, better than I had ever imagined. There was no haggle and no back and forth. The next day I took a check to Heather and picked up the truck. I have purchased new and used vehicles for many decades but have NEVER had such an outstanding experience in buying a vehicle. Heather Whitlock and Sean Tallman, another salesman that assisted me were the best, and both bent over backwards to make this the sales experience we all dream about when we think of a car purchase.
