There are no cliques and no bullying and when we have had issues we have raised them with the teachers and they have jumped on them to solve them immediately, and unlike other private schools there's no sense of entitlement from the parents or students. Also, because the school is so good at awarding scholarships not everyone is 'rich'! The school also has a great parent teacher association which offer weekly meet-ups and play dates as well as adult only events. Each class also has a WhatsApp chat group so parents can easily communicate with each other. If it sounds like one big happy family you'd be right, that's exactly what it feels like. In terms of academics my adhd child has thrived. Diagnosed at 4 we thought she would struggle but the school has been amazing at supporting her needs and accommodating her. They also offer many different seating types from a bouncy ball chair, to cushions on the floor and other such. It's very holistic and non political and offers many diverse ways of learning. They have a calming corner, encourage reading and emotional open communication as well many other ways of teaching emotional and academic intelligence. They teach in Spanish from day one and introduce Mandarin from 3rd grade, they also teach following the international Baccalaureate which is amazing. It teaches the children self confidence through weekly presentations and teaches them autonomy. Honestly this school is amazing and now it goes until 12th grade we are obsessed and so you will be too. But, sshh don't tell anyone about our secret slice of heaven.

He is growing up to be a well spoken, well thought, caring little human. I love that he is bilingual, but I really love his open minded views and his eagerness to learn. The teachers... the teachers have all been so amazing. They are loving, caring and really take each student's personalities and abilities into consideration as they grow from year to year. As I said, it's not the cheapest option and we do discuss yearly if we will be renewing his tuition-- and, with each year this answer comes easier and easier with an astounding "YES". We love the school, the community, the parents and look forward to many more years at Magellan!

The staff here is truly committed to creating a safe, fun environment for all the children and they act immediately if anything goes against Montessori principles--which I deeply appreciate. All the lead teachers have been in Montessori education for over a decade, and their passion really shows. My daughter absolutely adores everyone here. Miss Amanda is an absolute gem--genuinely perfect for this role. She has such a deep love for the kids and brings so much joy to the classroom. Every day, they do fun, hands-on activities and learn practical life skills like cleaning, cooking, cutting, and setting up their lunches. Mrs. Sarah is also incredible--she's such a gentle, kind soul with a calm energy that's instantly comforting. She's been in Montessori for many years and is the kind of person who just gets it. She is attentive and caring. My son's Chinese has improved with his daily lessons. He even recognizes several Chinese characters now. Ms. Xu and Ms. Zhao are always smiling in the morning when we drop off our child. The director, Terri, is very patient and responsible. The school is open many of the holidays that other schools are closed, which helps working parents. Overall, I would highly recommend this school.

They cover so many subjects, including science, arts, math, Chinese, Spanish, English, sports, and the kids are constantly encouraged to be creative. We also love how they celebrate various cultural festivals and teach the children to respect and appreciate cultural differences. Our daughter graduated from Little Hands in the summer of 2023. Although we moved out of state after her graduation, we had the chance to visit Austin in the summer of 2024 due to my work. Ms. Terri welcomed us back and took wonderful care of our daughter for two weeks, just like before. Ms. Terri and her team of teachers are truly the best. They are deeply committed to the development and growth of the children and work hard to prepare them for the future. What's so great? 1) Small groups with a low child-to-teacher ratio. During our week, there were approximately 8-10 kids and almost always 2 or more counselors at each outing. The curriculum has an educational/health & fitness focus, and the well-trained counselors are managed by a certified teacher (Tammy) who is often present during the week. 2) Exercise & being outdoors. The kids are moving most of the day, walking around town to see the sights, playing on splash pads & playscapes, or taking a hike. ATX Kids like to move it, move it! 3) Being a tourist in your own city. The kids (ages 4 - 12) learn to use public transportation and recognize city landmarks while exploring many of the cool destinations available in their hometown. During our week in Summer 2016, our child toured several art museums and historical sites, visited a few parks and walked urban trails. A highlight at the end of the week was visiting the Governor's Mansion and having snack time with the First Dog of Texas, Pancake. 4) Supporting a community-based, local nonprofit. ATX Kids Club offers discounts for children whose families might otherwise be unable to afford this kind of summer camp. They also serve as a CCMS provider through the Texas Workforce Commission. 5) Having a "normal workday" schedule for a reasonable fee. Summer camp hours are 9a-5p ($275/wk), and you can add extended care for 8a-6p for an additional fee ($65/wk). This is such a relief compared to other summer camps that require parents to juggle work hours for drop-off and pickup. I do recommend the extended care unless you work very close to the drop point. Downtown rush hour traffic is horrific! It was fun for us to see the play-by-play pictures of the kids in action on the ATX Kids Club FB page each day, confirming that our child was enjoying camp and making new friends. We're looking forward to signing up for Summer 2017, as well as trying out some of the school holiday and Saturday adventures later this year.

I get insight into how much my daughter has eaten, how long her naps are, and I can log in and watch what's going on in the classroom.

I wasn't enthusiastic about the management when my older son first started but Ms. Yolanda, Ms. Anna, Mr. Joey, and Mr. Paul have been my favorite team over the past two years. I feel that they genuinely care about my kids and they are communicative if I have any questions or concerns. My older son always enjoyed the theme days and special events like Splash Day and the Kona Ice truck over the summer. I was nervous with my younger son starting at just 3-months-old in Infant 1 but he got a lot of one-on-one attention even in a group setting. I look forward to him growing up at CCY and working with a lot of the same teachers who took care of his big brother. She is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and approachable. From the first day, she has made us feel welcome and heard. Connie somehow knows every child by name and always takes the time to check in with both parents and kids. It's clear that she genuinely cares about each family and works hard to make the daycare a safe, nurturing environment. I've even bumped into her at our local HEB while she was buying snacks for the kids and I swear she works over 40 hours a week since she is always there no matter what time I drop off or pick up.
