My primary care doctor is the greatest doctor and deserves 5 stars in every way. However, I am leaving a 1-star review for Summit Health's management. Ever since Private Equity took over Westmed, the corporate administration has made it impossible to reach my doctor. The medical professionals are great, but the corporate bureaucracy is ruining patient care. I was there for a ct scan and the technician was not pleasant. If you work in the medical field at least have patience and compassion for those who are apprehensive about a diagnostic test. I am so happy i went to another facility who was able to do my test with care and comfort i think we all deserve. There are still some very good doctors who are hanging on at westmed, but since Summit bought it, service has plummeted. Summit is draining it dry, lots of doctors have quit or retired because of it. It is now one full week since I began calling my doctor-two calls and to portal messages in the first two days. At the end of 48 hours, a Friday, I finally got a call back from the office telling me the doctor was out and wouldn't be back until Tuesday, and the covering doctor was out also. She was ready to give me the name of a random doctor in the practice but he didn't call me either. I left another message Monday in the portal. It is now Wednesday afternoon and I still have not gotten a call back. This might be considered malpractice as far as I'm concerned. read more

Was referred to Dr. Seema Sharma. Made an appointment several months in advance. The office called to cancel 3 days prior. Got rescheduled with a PA. Was 10 min late for the PA and they cancelled the appointment. They "squeezed" me in the next available slot 1.5 hours later for a 5 minute appointment. While in the waiting room, they announced another doctor was running 1.5 hours late. What a poorly run practice and poor patient care. If your health or time is important to you, don't ever come to this practice. read more

45 minutes of waiting for one scheduled radiology appointment and I have a lab appointment in 20 minutes. No way I'm gonna make that second appt. 7 people standing around, dancing to music, sucking on huge water jugs. I'm def going to a different location next time. read more

This place is getting worse and worse by the day. I am 37 weeks pregnant and Doctor Jackie Xiang decided to cancel my appointment 10 minutes before after driving 2 hours in traffic. Why wouldn't they call me the day before? This is so ridiculous!!! Then they try to accommodate me and I had to wait over an hour to be seen. I will be filing a report. This is not a way to treat someone that is pregnant. Lacks in technology, communication and so much more. DO NOT COME HERE!!! read more

This review is solely for the mammogram performed by Yolanda the technician. Rude woman, bad attitude and high on her own list. She came into the waiting area, called my name, told me to take my earrings off and put on a robe and walked away. I met her in the exam room, she never made eye contact, asked me for my name and d.o.b. and mumbled through her mask. Had me stand next to the machine and impatiently yanked my breast into position, pulling my tender skin with her latex gloves and told me to "move my belly". I've. had routine mammograms for many many years and never have I been subjected to this rough handling and rude attitude. I emailed client relations about the situation and so far haven't heard a peep. Anyone scheduling a mammogram at Rye would be within their rights to refuse the treatment if they are assigned Yolanda and ask for another technician. As for Yolanda, she should not be anywhere near a patient at Westmed and the director of radiology should immediately terminate her employment. Sometimes technicians burn out and she definitely doesn't have the professionalism nor the basic manners to represent the group. This is a very unusually occurrence at Westmed Rye - the doctors, nurses and staff are exceptionally nice and professional as well as being highly qualified. read more

Unfortunately this place appears to have turned into a money machine rather than a medical group. I've been a patient here for years but noticed during the pandemic that all of my good doctors were leaving the practice. When I scheduled my annual exams last year, I'd schedule with a new doctor but arrive for my appt and be seen by the PA. Scheduling goes through a call center where those employees have no knowledge of the physicians or staff at the facility. It's very difficult to have a call back and it will certainly not be from the doctor if at all possible. There were many other subtle changes that cause a degraded experience for the patient. I strongly suspect my trusted doctors saw what was happening and left the practice to protect their hard earned reputations. It is very clear that the new owners are there to make money at all costs and have no regard for the patient. I expect it from large CPGs and banks, but I am hightailing it out of there and will find new doctors elsewhere. High standards have crashed and burned. Yikes! read more

I went today to have blood drawn. The receptionist was dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Cute. One wall of the cubicle where the blood was drawn was a white board with sketches in purple of vampires with fangs and quote bubbles saying "I vant to draw your blood." I told the technician that it was difficult to find a vein in my arm. She was feeling my arm with a bare index finger and said she found a vain. It felt sore to me in that areaa, told her so and I suggested she use a vein in the back of my hand. She said, no, she found a vein. When she went into my arm, she hit the wrong place and I screamed. That didn't stop her, I could feel her moving and pushing the needle in other places and the pain escalated and I let out two more screams. The last to tell her to take the needle out. A couple of coworkers appeared - one young man in black with a face mask covering his mouth and asked me in a condenscending matter 'what the problem was?" followed by another chubby sloppy looking man who asked the same. When I tried to explain what I experienced, she cut me off and said that I was moving, she had told me to relax and she did nothing wrong. In the past when technicians have had trouble finding a vein, they pull the needle out and start the process completely over - new needle; site, etc. I've never had such a degrading, violent experience in receiving a medical service. I took my son to this Greenwich location, they make me wait with a 11 month old baby for an hour. And then the doctor comes and referred me to ER saying she doesn't have the medication after all the wait. Horrible unprofessional people. And now the bill they sent to my insurance was over $300 and they send me a bill to pay more. This is not right. Do not trust these people, they are after your money only. I've never had a problem here and recommend westmed Rye, despite all the unnecessary complaints about new portal, call center, etc. I highly recommend my Primary care doctor - Dr. Johnson, she has been so helpful and understanding with me these past few years- I feel very lucky to have found her after years of not so great experiences with my previous primary. I've never waited past appointment time, had a problem with calling to schedule or scheduling online. When I send her (or any of my doctors) a message I receive a fast response or call back. I've also had great experiences with other doctors including rheumatology, gyno, and neurologist. read more

I have been trying to make an OBGYN appointment for over 2 days for a new pregnancy. I want to see Dr. Elias although I've seen other doctors at that practice. I never thought it would be this difficult. You can't get in touch directly with the doctors office so I went thru the arduous call center, which had a wait time between 5 mins and eternity to speak to someone. Once I did speak to someone, she was clueless. Asked if I needed a virtual visit - for a pregnancy!? Then asked if December would work?! That call was literally 45mins long. Was told I'd hear back from the doctors office that day. No call. I call the "scheduling center" the next day and again, have not received a call back from the doctors office. My hormones haven't even kicked in full force yet, but if this is what I have to go thru every time I need to see my ob - forget it. I called another recommended practice in White Plains, spoke to a human immediately and got an appointment as requested. I'm disappointed because I heard wonderful things about Dr. Elias, but no one should have to go thru so many hoops for prenatal care. read more

So I went today with my husband for an annual phisical, taking along my minor child.Dr Quadri was great, then he send me to the blood test room downstairs, room 102 for blood work. There It was an empty room , with 5 chaires empty and 2 attendants chatting in the back room, so I asked Debra ,one of the chatters, if they can draw my blood.  "NO,she replyed in a rude voice,you have no appointment and go across the hallway. ". Do you work here I asked, at witch she replied "  No, I dont work here " and she dissmissed me as the other chatter came forward from her back room stating that no walkins will be taken, in the same rude, condescending ,loud voice, like I bothered them from chatting to each other. Across the hallway,same rude attitude from receptionist. " You talk to me now, she said raising her voice,annoyed, not with Debra, she stated; as I see Debra drawing blood from a patient( ..?? ) as she DID work there,but she lied to me.At this point I cant help but understanding that I am not wanted,as I am a Caucasian patient.As was no manager on site,the team leader talked to both,hopefully making them see that they were rude and dismissive. So, if you happen to be Caucasian and want a bllod work,good luck to you at Westmed RYE.!!!!! A great medical center conveniently located near I-95. They have just about every kind of specialist you could hope to find, and the docs are all great, from our experience. I should also add that if you're in Westchester and are debating between the White Plains or Rye WestMed, you should know that the parking situation in Rye is much more convenient. Plenty of spots, easy walk to the building. Their cafe on the first floor is also surprisingly decent. It's sort of hidden away at the end of the hall near the Urgent Care but its a wholly acceptable place to grab a bite or coffee if you are stuck. Five stars! I love Westmed. read more

Westmed seemed to have the potential to be a good medical group, what with everything offered within the same facility, but it just ends up being difficult, complicated and detached. After a couple of meh visits, I decided to change practices. I did some basic research and figured Dr. Seema Sharma was an OK choice; I don't need my doctor to be over-the-top spectacular, but I'm not willing to deal with feeling like my needs and concerns aren't met. The visits started off fine enough, kind of the usual stuff to be expected. I was ten minutes late due to traffic once and ended up having to wait almost an hour to be seen. My fault for being late, but sheesh. Also, as others have mentioned, calling to speak to the office or any reason whatsoever is a massive pain and runaround. No direct number, with the operator having to route you is a ridiculous exercise and a huge waste of time, they should change this system asap. Anyhow, I decided that my last visit there would be when I saw Dr. Sharma, voiced two concerns (one of which was visible), and she didn't bother asking me ANY questions or even walking over two feet to take a look. Instead she suggested seeing a dermatologist and a GP. Uh, ok? I get some things may not necessarily be your specific expertise, but you should be attentive enough to ensure it's not something you can explain or possibly more serious. This aloofness and flippancy totally made me question the doctor's ability to catch potential issues; if you're treating the problems I'm actually telling you about with apathy, then I know you definitely aren't attentive or thorough enough to ensure nothing else is going on. Also the way they charge insurance seems scammy at times. They report non-specialist visits as specialist ones so they can collect co-pays. Been having to go back and forth with my insurance about this, so annoying! Oh and getting your medical records sent to another practice takes an eternity, so beware! read more

Made an app't for 8/30 only to go through half of my exam and be told that it couldn't be completed as the app't should have been in Sept. I received three phone calls reminding me of my 8/30 visit!! I met with Dr, Santana for the first time and after briefly reading my history, said she'd no longer renew a prescription for a medication which I'd been taking for years to relieve anxiety which I had as a result of many deaths i.e. my seven yr. old daughter, 33 yr old husband and subsequently two more husbands as well as my parents. Not knowing me at all but refusing to help is nothing I have ever before encountered in my 79 years.. read more

My doctor is Dr. Mandira Gharkehan. She is a good doctor and I've only had positive experiences with her. My 3 star rating is because booking an appointment is so difficult. They are always booked solid for like 3 weeks in advance, so if you're sick and need a sick visit you end up having to go to Urgent Care, which is more expensive. read more

Truly awful. Came here for the OBGYN practice. My doctor is almost invariably significantly late. Currently waiting over 40 minutes for an 8:30am appointment with someone new. The vast majority of the time I'm promised I'll get a call back it doesn't come. No one takes ownership of anything. I regret coming to this practice. read more

Good doctors and convenient location. However, back office functions (billing, technology (e.g. portals and apps), scheduling) all very poorly managed. Sometimes it's easier to walk in for test results or scheduling visits as central back office functions are so weak. Also, very expensive. Frequently the wrong bill codes are applied to simple office visits. read more

What is the point of have a walk-in urgent care if you can make appointments to be seen? The new system is garbage. I took my 10 month old daughter with a fever in to be seen on a Sunday. There was only two people in there before us. 13 people walked in after us and more then half of them were seen before us. We waited 1hour and 30 minutes. Never going there again. read more

Always great service here, no matter what the services are for. Can be a bit of a wait if you're there to see your OB/GYN, but no different from most doctors offices. I'll typically be sitting around for 15-30 minutes, depending on the time of my appointment and how many pregnant women are there (lunch/afternoon gets backed up). They're good about getting you in within that week if you have an issue. Schedule your annual appointment months in advance. I originally got them done in August, and now get them done in November because they always get booked solid. The lab has a shorter wait time, though since they're only drawing bloods, I would hope so. The woman who drew my bloods was nice, but she left me bruised after. My general doctor's nurses do a much better job at drawing bloods quickly, and they know to talk me through it so I don't freak out. Yes, I'm scared of needles and tell each person who is going to stab me with a needle. This woman told me don't worry about it, and then was completely silent. I asked her a question and she gave a brief response and then back to the silence. So much for a distraction. I'm surprised I didn't freak out. read more

I called ahead of time to make sure they accept my insurance, however once I got there they said that I had to have my PCP with them otherwise I'd have to pay $130 (if I had been there before) or $190 (if it was my first time). I feel that this information should have been mentioned on the phone rather than wasting me gas and time to go there for nothing. Additionally, I asked to change my PCP to a doctor there but that was only possible on the 1st or 10th of the month (or something to that effect). read more

Westmed in general seems like a convenient practice. My issue is with the Ob GYN team here. While initially I chose Westmed because of its perceived convenience (like scheduling appointments online and having access to a portal to directly message doctors), the experience has been the least convenient for me. Because I have a high risk pregnancy and am towards the end of my pregnancy, I am required to go in for several tests weekly. Trying to schedule these tests are next to impossible. When I leave my appointment, supposedly only one person can schedule these tests and she's never around so I'm told to call them later. I tried calling one day at 9am and was told someone would call me back. I didn't receive a call back until 3:15 (of course when I was out of the room) and no voicemail was left. I tried reaching out to my doctors via the portal and still have received no response. I had to begin the whole waiting game the next day at 9AM and keep a close eye on my phone until 3:15 when I received the same call and was able to finally book the appointment. The doctor I see never spends more than 5 minutes with me. I understand it's a busy practice but I'm not even allowed to ask questions. And again, asking questions via the portal results in no response. What's the point of lecturing a patient for being high risk and requiring all of these extra tests if no one is willing to book them? It's sad how little the doctors and staff here care; I am just counting down the days until my baby is born so I never have to return to a Westmed. At this point, I'd be surprised if the doctor on call actually bothers to show up to the hospital when it's time to deliver... read more

I just want to say the staff at westmed in Rye are thorough, helpful and very knowledgeable. I came in today in dyer need of medical attention after five days on an antibiotic prescribed by another urgent care center that didn't work. By an hour later I was feeling noticeably better and by the evening able to function again! When I had questions on script they got back to me immediately. during the cold and flu season, be prepared to wait- it can get very crowded. The earlier the better if you can...... read more

Dr Sharma is a nightmare. She referee to my baby as a fetus that wouldn't be viable if I went into labor before 32 weeks. She would not consider a birth plan until after the her determined time. Didn't bother to address my husband in appointments and against my better judgment bullied me into the flu shot while pregnant which has NEVER been studied for safety. She takes calls during her session drinks Coca-Cola and talks about her family plans.I should have reported her to the medical board when I had the chance. Expectant moms consider working with midwives who will see you and your child as human beings with rights and concerns. Leaving this practice and having my baby elsewhere was the best decision I made for the both of us! read more

I went to west med urgent care in greenwich reporting a fever for 10 days, terrible cough difficulty breathing etc. They didn't even test for influenza. They didn't take my insurance so it cost $200.00. They said my oxygen levels were fine. It wasn't serious and I could go to work and the prescribed musinex and flonase. Long story short, its 4 days later and I am hospitalized for Influenza A and bilateral pneumonia!!. read more

Terrible - my primary care physician failed to diagnose me with progressive auto immune disease despite seeing me regularly for 10 years and their spine specialist did not even bother to take an X-ray where my disease would have been identified at least 2.5 years earlier. I was referred to an orthopedist. Appointment was eased to get at the white plains locations. I've been having pains on my right shoulder, neck, hips and constant headaches. I'm no doctor but thinking it's all related since it on the same side of the body. The receptionist proceed to tell me that the doctor would only treat 2 body parts. I will say that my experience after twisting my ankle was a good one for the most part but now months later I'm reluctantly paying a bill to not have it go to collection. Usual scam of doctors trying to get more money out of insurance and then insurance not wanting to pay. I woreked fora doctors office so I know that this is the USUAL way of most doctors. I twisted my ankle and after 24 hours and it feeling much worse I was urged by a friend to go to Westmed to make sure it wasn't broken. The parking lot was HUGE and packed Parking in the last row with an ankle I could barely walk on wasn't great but oh well what can you do. I went to the urgent medical and waited about 30 mins. I was brought in and seen by a doctor who wanted to x- ray it but said they didn't think it was broken. I asked if the x-ray would be covered and they told me "yes it would be covered if anything maybe a small portion wouldn't be covered." OK. We move on. X-ray comes back good. It's a sprain! They start wrapping it in a compression bandage. I thought I was out of there. Rest, elevation... let me go. Nope. The doctor went into a cabinet and pull out an "aircast" without saying a word to me. Ripped open the packaging, came over and started putting this thing on my leg that seemed cumbersome and just not necessary. I asked about it and feeling how uncomfortable it fit I told the doctor "I don't think I will ever use this it seems uncomfortable." The doctor pushed it in a nonchalant way saying "Take it and see if you like it. If you don't use it don't worry.' OK... I took it. I ripped it off in the lobby because it was cutting into my leg and I didn't understand how I was now going to drive home with it on my right ankle. Weeks later here comes my bill for almost $300. After I paid my emergency co pay there still I have to pay $300. I call inquiring.... basically $100 was the portion that the insurance didn't cover on the x-ray BUT $200 was for that DAMN air cast that I DIDN't WANT and ripped off in the lobby when i was leaving the building. It wasn't covered at all. Probably because the insurance has wised up to these nonsense things being added. I still have it sitting in my basement. I explained this on the phone to someone in billing and she explained there was nothing she could do. I explained again I just didn't understand why the doctor would push me going home with this thing that i didn't want and i explained i wouldn't use. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me "they wont do anything for you either." Awesome customer service. So I never got the supervisor. I missed two weeks of work- didn't get paid because of that ankle and NOW I'm stuck paying for this aircast that was basically pushed on me... And I know the way these offices work. That's the sort of thing they push (an add on) so the insurance will give them more money. I will never go back here- ever. It was convenient but look at the headache and cost that I am left with afterwards. I am paying my bill today to stop them from sending me more. Seeking medical care has become such a gimmick. All about the doctor's offices adding on things and billing for things that aren't necessary. read more

I went to the Westmed Orthopedic Group in Stamford, CT on Main Street. I needed to be seen for an emergency knee injury. To their credit, I was given an appointment that same day, which was appreciated. I saw the Dr. and he ordered an MRI for the knee injury. The doctor agreed to speak to me via phone once he had the results. I had the MRI done the next day which was a Saturday. The MRI facility told me that the results would be to the Dr. on Monday. I called Monday to speak to the Dr. No response Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and today is Thursday despite 6 calls and assurances that he would return my call. I was told by the receptionist that the protocol is a return call within 24 hours? Didn't happen. I've decided to take my business to another Dr. who is more responsive. I called Medical Records at WestMed to get a copy of the report and a copy of my x-ray to bring it to the other Dr. Guess what ? I can pay for the privilege of getting my own documents. $5 for the CD of the images, and .65 per page for the report if it is over 5 pages? Really? Poor service and I also get to pay for the privilege of receiving my own records? read more

My advice to any loving hard working nurse is to making a QUICK u turn!! Horrible place to work .. Awful management!! You'll work like a dog and be treated like one if your not a favorite! The staff is terrible. They give you the run around. My doctor's office was moved to a new location. The staff making the appointment isn't located there and don't really know where it is. I told them that it is Harrison, but they insist that it is Purchase. Since they have never been there, they are no help. This is typical. I scheduled a minor surgery with one staff member and was called back days later to say that I needed a pre-op screening appointment first. Another time it took months to clear up a billing error. They sent multiple bills before admitting their error. read more

I have had 2 appointments at the Rye WESTMED after an abnormal mammogram performed at Ridge Hill, appointments were given to me quickly with good availability meeting my needs, breast bx was done professionally by Dr. Josephson and her team, results were quickly available to me and a follow up MRI immediately scheduled. No complaints. I am a physician and highly critical......The parking is better/free in Rye, the facilities (and shopping) are more glamorous at Ridge Hill. Both facilities communicate well with each other. read more

The doctors here are decent but the staff is TERRIBLE!!! 90% of the time when I leave a message, whether about a prescription or a medical issue, my phone call doesn't get returned. This has happened with several different doctors on multiple occasions. There have been times when I've left several messages over the course of two weeks and still didn't get a call back. In person the staff are rude and dismissive, and I've had to overhear their inappropriate personal conversations while I sat in the waiting room. Once when I was checking in at the main desk the clerk was on a personal call while she was verifying my information. So the person on the other end could hear her say, "Do you still live at...my address?" When I told the doctor that my privacy was violated he just shrugged and said he didn't get to hire those people himself. read more
