I am (or was…read moresupposed to be) an incoming freshman with a complex medical and living situation, so I emailed the residency office with a detailed explanation of my circumstances to determine which residency path I qualified for. Over the course of four months, the person handling my case repeatedly ignored information I had already provided, persistently recommended residency paths that did not apply to my situation, and treated my case like that of any typical residency applicant despite the medical circumstances I had disclosed from my very first email. Even though I was repeatedly assured that my extenuating circumstances case "should be sufficient enough," I spent four months revising physician letters based on feedback from the residency office, gathering documentation, attending appointments, and incurring additional expenses, only for someone to finally recognize that the extenuating circumstances policy I had been encouraged to pursue did not legally apply to my situation in the first place. By that point, I had already lost four months, my $300 enrollment deposit (because residency denial is not grounds for a deferral), and was left with no meaningful solution other than withdrawing and taking a gap semester with no guarantee of residency afterward or paying WUE tuition, despite being legally domiciled in Utah and following every instruction I was given. I am extremely disappointed by the poor communication, lack of training, failure to review the information I provided from the beginning, and the refusal to offer any meaningful solution after months of incorrect guidance. This entire situation could have been avoided had my case been competently reviewed from the start.

There are definitely some positives, but there are also significant issues that future students should know about. Pros: The biggest advantage is flexibility. Most of the program is online, which allowed me to continue working while earning my BSN. The school provides many learning resources, and the schedule is generally designed to accommodate working students. As a California student, I also found the tuition to be more affordable than many other BSN programs. Cons: Unfortunately, communication and management were the biggest disappointments. It was often very difficult to reach anyone by phone because calls frequently went unanswered. Email was the primary way to communicate, but responses could take anywhere from one to five days or even longer. I also felt that students had to figure out many things on their own, especially when it came to financial aid and student account issues. There wasn't enough guidance, and I often felt like I had to navigate the process by myself. Academically, be prepared to be very independent. There are plenty of reading materials and assignments, but much of the learning is self-directed. Some professors were very supportive, while others graded very strictly without providing much understanding or flexibility. My biggest concern is what happened after graduation. I graduated in Spring 2026 and applied to the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) for my Authorization to Test (ATT). As of the end of June, I still have not received my ATT. Throughout this process, many graduates have repeatedly asked the school for help, but I personally felt that our concerns were not addressed adequately. When I contacted the BRN, I was informed that the school's documents were still under review. I later learned that some earlier graduates had also experienced lengthy delays before receiving their ATT. What frustrated me the most was the lack of transparency. I wish the school had openly communicated that delays could occur so students could prepare their expectations accordingly. Waiting months after graduation makes it much harder to stay prepared for the NCLEX. Students spend years working hard to graduate, and many are eager to begin their nursing careers as soon as possible. Delays without clear communication add unnecessary stress during an already challenging time. Overall, Nightingale College offers flexibility and can be a good option for working adults. However, if communication, administrative support, and a smooth post-graduation licensure process are important to you, these are areas that I believe the school needs to improve significantly. This review is based solely on my personal experience, and I hope it helps future students make an informed decision.

I was…read moresupposed to receive access to my required Orientation materials on June 15, but despite multiple support tickets and repeated escalations over more than two weeks, the issue remains unresolved. My program is scheduled to begin, yet I still cannot access the Orientation that is required before starting. During this time, I have received no meaningful updates, no definitive timeline for resolution, and very little communication that demonstrates any sense of urgency. Instead, I have had to follow up almost daily just to request status updates. What is most frustrating is the amount of time I have spent trying to resolve a problem that is entirely outside of my control. As a new student, I expected better communication and a support process capable of resolving time-sensitive technical issues. Instead, I have lost confidence in the university's ability to effectively escalate and address critical problems. I hope WGU improves its technical support and communication so future students do not have to spend weeks chasing a resolution for something as fundamental as accessing required Orientation materials.

Dr. J, Dean Smithers, Dallen, Professor Gayani, and Professor Rains are genuinely amazing people. However, the turn over of Deans' and instructors really hit me at the beginning of my second year. I was harassed and even bullied by some of the teachers and one past Dean. I tried to lay low and keep my head down after personally breaking down in front of one, when I had enough. One professor literally made me cry and just stared at me with dead eyes, later she had continuous mental break downs during lectures, and would say the most cynical things about nursing and her personal problems. A past Dean singled me out and would take me to an isolation room where she would spook me out before big exams. I should have left then. However, I kept it private, in fear that the "gang" of mean girl teachers would continue to gate-keep and retaliate with grading. I presented the documentation for accommodations- which they miss led me to believe they would provide, I only requested isolated testing. Did not happen. Three retakes and one appeal later, still no accommodation. Testing for HESI with absolutely no preparation besides a shot at remediation. That's where my time at Fortis was wrapped up- with a $19,000 student loan to pay, no degree. One HESI was a 799- you need a 850+ to pass all core nursing courses. Just be aware of the credits being trash, only other private* for -profit schools will consider transferring, the amount of disrespect you'll have to endure, the falsifying of financial agreements you will indeed encounter here, and breaking the law ( American disability act), other than those issues- it was a fun roller coaster ride and *MY biggest life lesson* which is priceless! I made some true blue friends from the trauma bond, as well! ( I'm currently going back to S.L.C.C ) where I have real credits that didn't expire, and most importantly, I will not have to start (completely from scratch). Out of my friend group (5) there was only one who made it through, one they convinced to be a guinea pig for their 'NEW'- LPN program, and three of us- left to figure out how we got bamboozled? (Emotionally, mentally, and financially- I never recommended Fortis to anyone, I cared about...it's that much of a gamble. The proof is on the walls* The 'Hunger games' begin, around (pharmacology- med surg 1) A cohort of ( 35 students - 25 students) = 10 students will continue...This is the weeding out process- they only want the (top scorers) in the end* to fatten their pockets* and to claim their NCLEX passing rate is legit.

Dare I say, sexy? Each room is well-appointed and of course incorporates the latest technology. There's a simple library on the 3rd floor where you may or may not get your parking validated if you're a guest. I don't know the rules, but they let me out of the gate without paying so I guess it worked out. The one thing I didn't find was a main info desk. Don't know if it exists, but it wasn't on the main floor. Just check a wall map and go for it. Wander the halls, enjoy the artwork, pop in on a class.
