In its hay day, when Ratz Bechtel was the "go to" funeral home in the city, with more than 600 funerals a year. Sales plummeted after Service Corporation gained ownership. They followed the same modus operandus as they do every community they go to ... jack up the prices, make people pay cash before the funeral etc. Interesting that they managed to close two funeral homes in this area (Schreiter-Sandrock) also. Sad loss to the community.
