As an American living in Montreal, I find this quaint-little health food store to be very charming…read more Before moving to Montreal, I would buy all of my vitamins, organic soaps and all-natural beauty products from Whole Foods (on a different, note.... ahhh, Whole Foods oh how I miss you still, let me count the ways....). However, this little health food store has single handedly convinced me that big, face-less juggernauts like Whole Foods and to a lesser extent, Rachelle-Béry are erasing the beauty of shopping at stores like Johanne Verdon. This small, family-owned store, despite its size, is doing an amazing job of providing organic fresh produce and a huge selection of products at incredibly low prices. Although I may find myself shopping at other health food stores, I rarely find any other stores which are providing the same products for less than Johanne Verdon. Incidentally, I like to come in and see what fresh produce is on sale; as products close in on their expiration dates, they are deeply discounted by the employees. For example, I have purchased organic celery still in great shape for much less than conventional celery at the Metro grocery store. Lastly, Johanne Verdon has the most Weleda products that I have seen outside of Switzerland and for much, much less than other stores in Montreal!

Angela really cares about her patients and truly wants to help them in every way that she can. Then, I came across Lucie's contact on CCHCC (http://www.cchcc.ca/cchcc/en/index.htm), Quebec's organization for certified colon hydrotherapists. From the moment I contacted her, to the end of my session I was very pleased with Lucie's services. She was very informative about how to prep for my session before my appointment, and explaining the procedure during the session, as well as what to expect therafter. Her clinic is located in NDG, it is a discrete and welcoming therapy environment. Very clean atmosphere with a private bathroom located within the therapy room (it also had a bidet). The process was not at all what I imagined it would be like, it was much better actually. I thought the process would be humiliating, messy and painful. But it actually was not painful at all, because she pays close attention to changes during the session to make modifications when they are needed. It was a clean process and she uses disposable kits, so you can be sure the materials are clean. And I did not feel at all humiliated, because Lucie was friendly yet professional. It is also reassuring to know her therapy practice follows a rigorous standard according to the CCHCC. I definitely recommend the benefits of colon hydrotherapy, and Lucie's services. I'm looking forward to my next session :)
