On the day of, I was nervous if things were going to fall into place, but Annie, our photographer, shared her location with me and arrived early in just the spot I wanted. After coming across their photos when researching different potential photographers that had experience at our venue, we were very interested in meeting them. We had an initial video call with them and knew immediately that we wanted to book them for such a critical part of our wedding journey. There aren't enough words to describe how skilled and professional they are--they are amazing photographers (individually and as a duo) and clearly love what they do. Our proposal photoshoot was the only prior experience we had in terms of taking professional photos as a couple. We met them in person for the first time at our engagement photoshoot--they immediately made us feel comfortable and were seriously thoughtful about the entire process, whether it was the location choices, minute-by-minute weather changes/forecast, outfit changes, etc. It really feels like they plan for everything and care about the little details. When we asked them about another vendor they would potentially work with on the day of our wedding, they even referenced notes they made when they had worked with them for a prior wedding. Throughout the whole process, they were prompt communicators (frequently responding to an email within minutes!) and guided us with experience and patience that we really appreciated. Whenever we had something to discuss with them (including choices we needed to make as a couple), they never hesitated to give us suggestions and feedback. Even if they offered an alternative suggestion to an idea of ours, it always felt like they genuinely cared and they wanted what we wanted, and it never felt like criticism. We received our wedding photos just about 2 months after our wedding, and we love every single one of them (all 667)! They are truly the best photographers to work with and just lovely people to be around. I knew right away she'd be a perfect fit for capturing my niece, both in her cap and gown and in her super colorful prom dress (which I was confident Kree could do justice!). Eli was recommended to me by my friend who had used him for her wedding. It was really important to me to find a photographer who made my fiance (now husband!) comfortable. We both knew we wanted shots that really showed our personality, and weren't cheesy. About ten minutes after meeting with Eli, I knew he was our guy. When I talked about ideas for where we would do our engagement shots, I explained to him we weren't really the country, pick-up trucks, posing in the field type people. We're more like, have a beer at an old-school bar type couple, he loved the idea of shooting in the city at the Buena Vista (where we had irish coffees right before the hubbie proposed). The actual engagement shoot was great - Eli instantly bonded with my fiance and made him feel very comfortable (which is saying a lot, because he can't stand posing for pics). Needless to say, the pictures came out fantastic...we look like ourselves, just having a fun time hanging out on a date together. Eli was very helpful during the wedding planning process. He let me know how long it would take to shoot the bridal party pics/family pics/etc. I should also mention that I am a little OCD when it comes to being organized. I had a shot list with all the pictures important to me, and Eli captured EVERY single one. He even drove from Pleasanton over to Tiburon (where our wedding was) twice to scout out the best locations for pictures. He came to my rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, for approximately 5 hours. The next day, he was there for all the "getting ready" shots at 7:30am...and stayed until about 10pm that night. He made all the guys laugh, and the girls feel gorgeous. At the ceremony and reception, he was very unobtrusive, and I didn't even notice my picture being taken. Oh, and did I mention that I got my wedding pictures back THREE days after the wedding?! There was one photo from the place he chose that is a masterpiece, with the sun setting under an old oak tree. He makes the engagement photos into a book for guests to sign at the wedding which is a wonderful idea. Eli took over 1500 photos for our wedding, photo-journaling us from morning to night. So many photographers charge by the hour, but Eli has such a passion for what he does that he wants to be there from the beginning to the end to capture the full day, so his price includes the entire day. Eli is such a professional. He is not a large personality or obtrusive in any way, as some photographers are. Everyone commented on how friendly and accommodating he was. We had given Eli a list ahead of time of all of the photos that we wanted and he made sure we completed the list. As the night goes on, it's hard to stay focused when being pulled in so many directions, but Eli was persistent to make sure we got all of the photos we wanted, which we appreciated. She got smiles galore out of our little one, had an eye for capturing perfect shots, and was really creative. (My son couldn't sit up yet when the picture was taken, but she managed to snap that photo as he made a game of flopping over after we arranged him in a "tripod" position.) She knows how to make the best of natural light -- even if it means rearranging the furniture a little! In our session, we got photos in our home as well as outside, photos of the baby by himself and a few of the three of us together and of the baby with each parent individually. When I got the proofs, I actually squealed my way through them I was so delighted. We ordered pictures for our friends and family (including the one shown in the examples here), who loved them and admire our family portrait, which is so natural and captures our family perfectly. The price for the session is phenomenally good and the picture prices are good as well -- when I've heard what other parents have spent on photos that were pretty good but not oh-my-gosh-she-can-photograph-our-souls good, I just shake my head.
