First off my gf and I were welcomed by the manager with a smile and gladly gave change and dryer sheets when asked. Halfway through the load her bf or husband stops in, and pretty much talks about very personal family matters and talks to her in a way that had me embarrassed, almost to the point of humiliation. At one point after being there for 35 minutes I step out for some fresh air, the second I'm out of sight this guy comes and basically starts hitting on my gf, asking personal questions and such, then when he sees me coming back he quickly leaves, which left her pretty wierded out. We finished folding our laundry and left. The place was very clean, machines were in perfect running order. Just left feeling sorry for the woman running the business after the visit with her significant other.

None of them had what we wanted in stock, a basic Whirlpool stove. Even if they could order it, we were looking at a couple of weeks minimum before delivery. We needed the stove within 6 days so the special 70th birthday party could happen! Our appliance repair man suggested Brown's, so we called them. They had the model in stock and were able to deliver it in 5 days! They gave us a very good price on the stove and the delivery. The truck came when promised, the men installed our new stove and took away the old one. They did everything smoothly, no scratches anywhere, took away all the garbage, even the stickers. They were very friendly and professional. I would recommend them for any type of appliance.

We were struggling with how to replace that 1970s behemoth as we strolled around Port Carling when at the top of the hill rose Brown's Appliances. Brown's is a throwback to the small town Maytag store, family-owned and operated. Our sales associate, Jennifer, was extremely helpful throughout the entire process of selecting the refrigerators (we decided to replace the defunct mini-fridge in the bunkie as well), having the old ones hauled away, and installing the new. We appreciated her constant communication, particularly on the morning of delivery when it turned out the model of fridge we'd selected was only available in black in their warehouse. Jennifer assured us she was sending out a comparable model in white. In a typically American fashion, I suppose, we suspected a bait-and-switch, Googled the subbed-in model, and discovered its retail price was actually about $100 more than the one we'd originally selected. Brown's honesty and willingness to make up for their error really impressed us. We were equally impressed by the two burly men (one of whom was Jennifer's brother) who came and took the old refrigerators out *without* a dolly or hand truck. It couldn't have been easier, more pleasant, or any cheaper to have replaced a massive appliance in a part of Canada where even gas stations are few and far between. And we couldn't be happier with our gleaming, brand spankin' new beauty.

We originally had them out to help with a large dead pine tree removal, and some flagstone steps needing repair. However the price was right and we ended up hiring the team for several projects including fence line/lot clearing along with a wide range of spring clean-up projects. Blake's arborist was great and together they had the dead tree down and ready to be mulched in no time. I was quite impressed with how considerate they were of keeping everything neat & tidy as well as safe & secure! The biggest job was clearing brush and a wild pack of sapling trees growing into a tennis court fence. Not only did they clear all of the brush away from the fence line, but they also made sure the roots were removed and then laid down high-quality landscape fabric and made good use of all of the mulch! This crew works hard to make the most out of the day, and it is clear they did the best possible job to make sure the results last. We will definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend Lake of Bays Excavation if you are looking for exceptional, and reliable excavation services at a fair price.
