Absolutely beautiful facility, designed for the dogs' comfort. Pens are air conditioned, with fans running to help beat the heat. The dogs even get ice water when it's hot! They have individual, indoor/outdoor pens that are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Pick Me Up Ranch! We didn't take advantage of it (this time), but I see they also offer dog bathing. He's now 2 years old and the absolute love of my life. I honestly could not have asked for a better dog. He's super cuddly and is very well behaved around other dogs and humans. He came from Reba and Moody. One thing I will say is that he is 50 pounds! I thought I was getting a mini.... Not so much. Still wouldn't trade him for the world though. He does have a super sensitive stomach though!

We sent our 1 year old lab "Beau" to hightest for their 6 weeks obedience training program. We had…read morea neighbor who highly recommended them to us (their dog was in their hunting program). We were easily able to coordinate Beau's pick up and drop off date with Teal over email and phone calls. We live about 3 hours away, but all the drives to see his training were worth it. In the 6 week program there are a list of basic commands that they will train, but I loved that the trainers took the time to listen/note the specific concerns we had for Beau. Our main concerns were jumping when greeting people, staying on place, and off leash recall. Beau's first week at Hightest was an adjustment for him. Our usually highly food motivated Beau began to refuse to eat. Hightest immediately notified us, and explained how this typically happens after a dogs owner leaves, but that they were giving him different food to encourage him to eat again. He continued to go on a hunger strike, but hightest continually keep in touch, gave him weight gainer, and weighed him consistently to make sure he didn't drop any lbs. Though our first training session was two weeks away, they invited and encouraged us to come visit him after the first week. We got to see what he was working on, and he began to eat again! The training sessions included in the 6 week program were amazing. Jenna was our trainer for two of the sessions and she is AMAZING! She was very knowledgeable about dog training and knew all of Beau's quirks. She is also great at explaining their training techniques and teaching owners how to properly handle their dog. You can tell each person who works there knows each dog well, and loves what they do! After our first training session I was confident that Beau was in great care with the trainers and staff! Great things about hightest: everyone who works there is super friendly, it is extremely clean, climate controlled for the dogs, you can text or call at anytime for updates, private property so parking is no issue. Beau has now been home for about 2 weeks and it has made a world of a difference. He can walk in heel and doesn't pull on walks (he was a crazy puller), no longer jumps to great people, assumed sit and down, place for long periods of time, and can be recalled off leash. We can now eat dinner and watch tv with him by our side. Though he is now well trained, he still has his silly, goofy , lovable personality. We will definitely come back if we ever go out of town or want to do an extra training refresh!! Overall, I can't recommend hightest enough! If you have been thinking about sending your dog to training -do it! It's the best investment we have made for him.

From the start I had a bad feeling about this seller, information was limiting, the breeder never…read moreresponded to emails or came with updates on the puppy that I had paid for in full. I had to ask for information regarding the shots that the puppy had done so far, what kind of food he ate and so on. Which is not normal from what I hear most people experience when getting a new pet. Even though the delivery date was confirmed several times by the seller and paid for in full by me, she still cancelled less then a week before the arranged delivery date. When I pointed out that it in fact was a breach of contract not to deliver on the agreed date confirmed in writing, and without offering any kind of solution - I was told that she was not dealing with "people like me" she offered to return my money. I accepted and was then told that I would have my money back right away. This however was not the case, the seller had the audacity not to provide financial coverage for the return, so her bank kept on declining it. Thankfully the transfer was made through Paypal who then got involved and made sure that I got my money back. I cannot recommend doing business with this place if you do make sure to use PayPal.

She asked a lot of in depth questions so she could help pair us with a dog in the litter based on temperament. When we arrived to get our pup I was amazed at her property. It is very large and well kept. The house the puppies were in was beyond clean, and we even got to go meet the parents. I honestly thought that was so special. I really see some of Trooper and Ollie's mannerisms in my boy. Over the years we have actually kept in contact and Karen was an amazing sounding board if I ever had any questions regarding training my dog. When the time comes Karen will definitely be our breeder of choice. Our dog (Jet) is five and a half now. He charges the water hard, LOVES to retrieve, and is so well mannered. He's truly remarkable.

In hindsight both my husband and I did not have a good feeling when we first arrived at the facility. Our puppy was reluctant to let the trainer come near her, or touch her. That should have been our first clue that our puppy did not feel comfortable with the trainer. Communications with the trainer focused on negative aspects of the puppy...food aggressive, only wants to do what is fun for her, wants to pick fights with other dogs... That is not the dog we brought up to Waterspook Labradors. We brought up a dog that was used to being around a 5 year old lab, two small dogs, and a Newfoundland. She ate her food beside her 5 year old sister and did not show any food aggression. She played like a normal lab puppy and took correction well from the older lab. She was able to sit, stay (for short periods of time), heel, come, and kennel. Three weeks into the training we receive a call that our puppy had viciously attacked a dachshund that the trainer was boarding and we needed to come and get her immediately. Upon arrival, my husband was greeted by a spiritless, sad puppy that smelled to high heaven, was filthy, and not the dog we had left at the facility three weeks prior. From the description of our dogs behavior at the training facility it sounded like the dog needed to be put down. It turns out that our dog did not cause physical harm to the small dog, but knowing a bit about Dachshund behavior and lab puppies one can only surmise what the small dog may have done to provoke such a response from a puppy. I am still wondering why the dogs were even in the same area. If my dog was showing so many aggressive behaviors why was she off-leash and out of the kennel? There are just too many unanswered questions. In addition to the dogs that were being trained, and boarded at Waterspook, there was also a large new litter of puppies to be tended to. Perhaps the trainer had too much going on at one time. I have taken the dog to the vet to rule out any potential medical causes for the described behavior; I have spoken at length with the breeder;, and nothing aligns with the behavior described by the trainer. Both the breeder and the vet suggested we just give her a lot of love and that the happy dog we brought up to Waterspook will come back. Needless to say , we are very gun-shy about taking the dog to another trainer for gun-dog training and will certainly listen to our gut-instincts and "listen" to our dogs behavior before committing to another trainer.
