Quite a busy little spot, with a mix of commercial and pleasure craft. The nice aspect to the commercial fishing fleet is that you will never have fresher fish at a closer proximity, and buying from the fisherman is de rigueur. Rafting should be anticipated in the peak months, as the marina is not endlessly expansive. Favour the breakwater side on entering/exiting, as there is a bar/shoal not too far upstream. The currents in Discovery Passage are noteworthy, so plan accordingly. I left the Wharf heading towards the Quadra Island side of the channel-avoiding Yaculta Bank-making 9 knots towards Cape Mudge...sideways. Security consists of a mass of cameras at all access points. Although the marina is not gated, I never once felt imperiled during my stay. There is a large garbage bin on the shore (free), and limited recycling by the office. The staff is fantastic, and happily come down to help you with your lines. Lastly, bear in mind that it is very narrow between the breakwater and the marina, and there is insufficient space for two large vessels to pass each other.

We were thrilled because we'd never slept on water before, (except me, the retired sailor). It was fun because it was only for 3 days; us 2 adults and our 3 kids. The next day her relatives took us out on the bay; fantastic! We watched for whales (saw one come up to spout air) then went to an unoccupied island owned by the resveration. We made lunch at the cabin while the girls kayaked in the bay area. We even went exploring in the wooded area before we headed back. The Marina was great; small and cozy. Lots of older fishing boats and a few houseboats as well. Everyone was friendly, we even saw american eagles as we waited to leave on the ferry. We accidently packed something from the boat we stayed in and one of the ferry operators (forgot his name) knew our relatives, so we gave it to him and confirmed he gave it to them...that was much appreciated and awesome! I doubt we'll be in this neck of the woods anytime soon, but it's well worth the trip for anyone else. No wifi, but do you really need it up there? Didn't think so.

The beef burger was honestly one of the best I've had with a relish to relish :) The pumpkin spice cheesecake was a masterful combination of flavours with a raspberry sauce and fresh strawberries. You can admire the seals and wild life from afar (with binoculars available) or from your seat. Definitely worth the visit and just a quick 5 minute $5 ferry ride from Campbell river away.

Small but clean laundry facility, good power supply with moorage. Like many docks in BC water can be an issue depending on well supply, and wasn't available when we were there.
