Not much rehab. Ok as a standard nursing home and pleasant staff, just not the place to get well due to lack of real physical therapy.

Westview of Derby clearly cares about their residents. They've recently changed management staff (DON and administrator) and things are going really well with those new changes. The building is clean and staff clearly cares about their residents. I would recommend anybody take their loved ones here for rehab or long term care. The rooms are nice and the activity department stays very involved. The food is really good too! Walking into Westview you see happy residents and staff that care. read more

If I could give this place a negatve 5, I would. I can't believe that they are still in business. I was a guardian for a mentally challenged lady that had developed breast cancer and when having to be placed on Hospice, I chose this place because it was close to my home and I could visit her as often as desired. I wish I had not of chosen this place. She was non verbal, but if you took the time with her, you could figure out what she wanted or was trying to tell you. She really was not that hard to take care of. Her first week there, she supposedly fell out of the bed. And they could not give me a solid explanation as to how that happened. I visited her everyday, yet everyday she would have dirty clothes on. Sometimes those dirty clothes would remain on her for more than 1 day. And yet, the staff would often times be just standing around gossiping. I asked the Director of Nursing why she wasn't receiving good care, and was told that she is hard to take care of. Isn't that your job. I've given the staff the tools on how to care for her and it's not hard. I could go on and on about the lack of care that happens at this place. From *misplaced* clothing to dirty sheets and no one checking on her regularly. If you are considering using this place, I URGE you not to! read more

Westview of Derby is a den of invompetency! My wife's sister was at Westview for a little over two weeks. She passed away yesterday from cancer. While like other people have claimed they were greeted and treated by management in the most cordial way when searching for a facility for their loved one. Once you signed on the dotted line the terror began. They sent my sister n law to an Oncologist appointment in urine soaked pants and full of poop! She was also in showered and smelled horrible. When her life neared the end the staff failed to compl with Hospice medication orders and in one instance claimed they couldn't find the morphine. They had no suction machines on property , so they said and my wife and niece watched their mother and sister drown in her own body fluids. After pressuring the nursing staff to comply with medication orders they finally gave my sister n law a final dose of morphine after family had to watch what's called death rattle along with uncontrollable seizure like movements she instantly calmed down and passed moments later! While my wife and niece did meet and mention a couple of staff members that were very kind and helpful, the overall rating of this review would be below the minimal starting place. When I figure out where to start I will be filing for an et review by the State of Kansas! read more

This facility is the best I've ever seen. The licenced nurses are very knowledgeable. The CNAs & CMAs are super. The rehab staff are top notch. The kitchen staff and servers are great. The food is nutritious, very good tasting and residents can choose to eat items not just "The Special". Activity director has many different activities for the residents. Though I didn't want to live here, my family couldn't have chosen a better place. I have many health issues and the staff has been excellent. If you are considering a nursnursing home placement for a loved one. You couldn't find a better home. I am blessed to be able to live here. read more

Absentee Administration: The Administrator is consistently unavailable, remaining behind closed doors and making zero effort to engage with residents or build relationships with families. Dishonest Nursing Leadership: The two Directors of Nursing (DONs) have proven to be unreliable. We found them to be misleading and dishonest regarding care and protocols on multiple occasions. Retaliatory Environment: There is a "shut up or leave" culture here. When residents or family members advocate for better care by asking questions or filing complaints, the facility responds by discharging the resident rather than addressing the concerns. If you are looking for a facility that values open communication and treats residents with respect, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Very toxic environment. It is not assisted living. Most residents are on hospice. Most of the…read morepeople not on hospice have moved out. When it was zero degrees in January several people were without heat. Management didn't care. One guy moved. It was just too cold. The building is a modular. Heat and air are not adequate if they are working properly. Windows have a half inch gap in some rooms. It's a nursing home with no nurses. Lots of dehydrated people with bed sores. They do not do employee back grounds or drug screens. They hire people with multiple domestic violence and assault charges. They pay $14 per hour and can't keep people. The cna has to clean the entire facility. All the rooms and do laundry. The aids refuse so the place smells like urine due to wet dirty laundry. The resident rooms are filthy and no one cares. They only have a dozen or so residents. They get very upset when family calls the state for neglect. They don't get snacks and the meals are small. Everyone loses weight quickly when they move here. It is mostly family that work there but they are all quietly quitting. Not a place I would want my family to live.

I asked about pricing and was told that information was not mailed out. I asked to have the pricing shared with me over the phone. Brandon told me that Memory Care was $6000/month and he thought maybe assisted living was that price also. I interjected that assisted living would surely not cost as much as memory care due to the very different levels of care and asked to speak with someone who could provide more definitive information. There was a short pause and then Brandon hung up the phone. If this is the treatment that one receives simply trying to get information, I can't imagine what kind of care is provided. I am relieved to know this information before making the mistake of placing a family member there.

You couldn't identify which was mine the day my wife went to PU but you now all sudden did\can with gold scam guy. Total BS.. Insurance company is also questioning the gold crown removal and replacement. Kinda sketchy they can't get their lies straight. Stay away from these people.
