I've been getting the same haircut for maybe 10 years now (I find haircuts to be a tedious and usually uncomfortable ritual). My biggest complaint is usually how far off the mark my given barber is from what I wanted, but there are lots of other factors to evaluate. Sometimes the barber might take twice the time of another, and yet I walk out with half the haircut because I'm tired of squirming and smirking in my seat, or maybe my wallet is starting to feel a little exploited, or the barber is just a little rough with his tools. Well, at Ernie's, I had no complaints. For an oldster, my barber was a very light touch with his instruments - no hair pulling, or fingers fumbling at my scalp and he was done before I knew it. In fact, I was already quite happy with his interpretation of my never-changing hair, but he was more than happy (almost insistent) to tweak it further. And when it came time to pay, $17 seemed more than fair for his time. Maybe I caught my barber on a good day - an early Tuesday morning at the beginning of his work week, before a day's or week's worth of standing on his feet might reduce his limbs to a leaden drag - but I know I'm going to pay him a second visit.

I recently moved and tried to go to a different barber today and I'm really regretting being lazy and not making the 10 minute bike ride to Ernie's instead, because the new place completely screwed up my hair and that would never have happened at Ernie's.

I was concerned at first as it said hairstylist on the sign even though I saw the barber pole. Just did a walk in and in 15 minutes all done with style. This was a proper barber even with the straight edge razor. Nice conversation as well. Especially if you're from the Philippines. If I happen to come by this area again, I definitely will do it again. I like it so much so that I just broke my Yelp haitus to write this review.

I showed a pic of the type of haircut that I wanted to the barber. The top of my hair was supposed to be long length spiked, level zero around the sides + back. The result ended up with the top was way too short, then I took a look at the mirror checked out my haircut. Showed the barber that he missed 2 spots, he didn't trim the hairline + the right side wasn't even. He told me that it wasn't asymmetrical, he wasn't a happy camper to finish the task. He made a angry facial expression, he was dealing with another client sitting in the chair. The level of quality has been downgraded, the barber is focused on speed not precision haircuts. Mike the barber is best at his craft taking his time to great attention to details in the end result. He is booked by appointment only! On a regular basis the shop isn't busy. Majority of the barbers lack experience in this field. This is definitely the last time that I ever get a haircut at this shop ever again! Their loss!!! This is unacceptable!!! The fade was way off and it was a lot shorter on the sides then I had shown him in the photo, he was done in about 15 minutes, I did not realise exactly how bad it was until I got home, there was hair that was not cut from the sides that was a lot longer that he had missed I basically had uneven lengths all over, my wife and kids couldn't stop laughing at the state of my hair, I wore a hat for the next 2 days until I had another barber from a different barbershop fix it up, who by the way done a fabulous job under the circumstances. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because Mo seemed like a nice guy I guess the cut I wanted was just too difficult for him, and no there was no error in communication as I had presented a photo of the cut I wanted.

Metered parking on street or side street parking in the residential area. Staff: I have really only dealt with Skip. But from what I hear while waiting, the atmosphere is rather casual. Shop: Average clean. One of my co-workers told me about Clean Cut and suggested that I see Skip. Skip is the master Barber and I believe the owner. I have had about half a dozen cuts from skip and I have been please every time. I like my hair short on sides and medium on top. Skip gives an amazing fade. You have to make an appointment to see skip. His calendar is just about always full. Other barber do take walk ins. I had a cut once with a different barber. It was okay, but he was no skip :-). You can book an appointment on their site and you will get reminder a day before as well. My advice is too book ahead of time. I already have appointments booked for the rest of 2019. Give skip a try, you will be glad you did.

It was the most meticulous cut I've ever seen and that's not an easy task with a school aged kid who moves around a lot. I would have taken him with me if I could but alas, I had to let him go. Now for the next couple of years, I jumped from Barber to Stylist to Barber etc.. Never really connecting with anybody. Then thru a friend of a friend, I met Ken, my "Hairstylist" of 6 years running. At first things were tough between Ken and I. It took him a while to figure me out but he did. Things were good between Ken and I but over the last couple of years I began to notice changes in Ken. We didn't talk anymore. I felt as if our connection was gone. I would sit in his chair with him next to me but feel is if I was alone. Ken would cut and ten minutes later it was over. I would find uncut hairs on my head, and when I confronted Ken, he would just laugh it off as if nothing was wrong. It was when his fingers turned cold I decided to do something that I have never done before in my life. Cheat on my hairstylist. Creepin on Ken was hard for me so to ease the struggle, I Googled it!! I spent the last couple of day reviewing "Barbers" on the net when I stumbled across Signature Shears. They had a nice web site and which boasted this online appointment booking system. I like!!!! I decided to pay them a visit. Signature Shears is situated in this small strip plaza off of 403, Rathurn and Mavis. There is plenty of parking. I walked into the shop to find it very busy. I inquired as to if they accepted "walk ins" to which a Barber replied yes. I sat down for approximately 30 seconds, got up and left the shop. I was in the process of backing my truck out of my parking spot when out of the shop another Barber (Clynt) came running out waving at me. I stopped the car and rolled down the window. Clynt requested that I come back and speak with him. I advised him that the shop was busy and I didn't feel like waiting around too long. He told not to worry and insisted that I come back into the shop. Well to find out what Clynt was going to do for me, I did exactly what he said. I parked my car and walked back into the shop. Within 30 seconds I was introduced to a Barber named Xavier and was seated in the trim chair. The shop itself was clean with TVs in every corner playing the same movie. Dayaam! I watched the end of the Italian Job and bit of The Lord of the Rings. Movies,, nice touch! I decided to go with a Faux Hawk to Bald Fade. Now I have sat in many a Barbers Chair and must say that Barber Xaviers attention to detail was reminiscent to my old Trusted Barber Dougie. This was good sign to an excellent trim. He recommended several twists in in the design of my Faux Hawk to which I gladly green lighted. All in all I was very happy with the end result. I did see a debit card machine but I opted to pay in cash. I payed 30 buck with tip in. I know some of you may find this price tag a bit steep, but you get what you pay for. On my way out, Clynt recommended that I try out the online appointment booking system. Dayaam!
